I'm a vegetarian who doesn't love salad... I like salad, and I have loved a few salads, but I'm not thrilled about salads most days. I only had the one big salad. I split it w/ another person. We also split the 2 kinds of biscuits. But oh man. I could get wild about this food. I don't even recall what our salad was called. [Golden] beet something? I'd have it again, but several of the other salads also intrigued me. Maybe if I'm lucky, I can return to Neon Greens tomorrow.

Parking is mostly limited to street parking. We came in on a busy Saturday, and while the line was long, it was moving. We reviewed the menu posted on their glass prior to coming in to order. Since we had our dog with us, we made our salads to go. I had the Thai BBQ salad while my guy had the Elote Salad with smoked chicken. We did not add anything extra. The service here was on point. They also ask your level of dressing (light, medium, or heavy). We had medium and also ordered 2 of their Chili Crisp Chewy Cheese Bread, which is reminiscent of Brazilian cheese bread but with a kick. For drinks, we ordered Mexican Coca-Cola and Pineapple Palo Santo kombucha, which is locally made. Everything was perfect, from the balance of ingredients to the taste and crunch. They have indoor and outdoor seating and if sitting indoors, beautiful natural lighting comes in. I cannot wait to order our salads here!

While reservations are recommended, I was lucky to get us a spot for two on a Saturday night for dinner. Walking in, it reminded me of a small family place in Palermo but with class. Hostess and server were very friendly and pleasant and attentive. The Ravioli appetizer was excellent!!! For St Louis, having an outstanding Ravs is a high bar and Collins's easily earned a top spot. The ravioli is a must try. The Beef Rigatoni Bolognese was also outstanding and an interesting fact is the pasta is made in-house. The Cavitelli was also fantastic and another must-try is the Sicilian Old Fashioned which was delicious. I could easily do two or three. Collina is a must return soon column. Five Stars!

It was a carrot cake that I'm pretty sure had cheesecake btwn the layers. I only had 1 small bite of that part. Entrees ordered were seafood risotto, sweet chili glazed salmon and the special of the night which was a pork chop over risotto. Per my friend her salmon was delicious. My risotto was overcooked so the clams were rubbery-yuk. The shrimp looked overcooked but they actually tasted fine. The pork chop was good but not great per report. We did get bruschetta as an appetizer- again good but not great as there was too much balsamic glaze such that it was overly sweet. Jonathan was our server and I had the impression he was new to the job. He did fine but it was small things. A definite detractor was the location of our table- we were right next to the kitchen. If I backed my chair up I would have been in their pathway. Anyway they left the door to kitchen open and it was sooooo noisy. Yes I could have asked them to close door but the heat would have probably too much for them then.

The service was excellent, and the fact that they make their own bread is outstanding. Based on the food, location, and service alone, I would have gladly given them 5 stars. That changed when I saw the sign on the door stating that ICE officers would not be served. I respect the owners' right to have and express their personal opinions. But when you choose to publicly post those views at your business, you should also be willing to accept that customers may have a different opinion. My opinion is that I stand with law enforcement. The owners have every right in this great nation to take the position they have--and I have every right to decide that I won't return. I sincerely hope they never find themselves in a situation where they need the help of a law enforcement officer. But if they do, I believe those officers will still respond professionally and give them the respect and assistance that every person deserves. It's unfortunate, because without that issue, this would have been an easy 5-star review.

We had 6pm reservations and were seated on time but people without reservations faced a 2 hour wait. Make reservations! Upon entering, there is a hostess stand and small bar with seating extending to the back of the building. We had the first table so I can't comment on the full size. My son ordered a Bloody Mary and I had a Pinot Noir while we looked at menu. Bloody Mary was very good and the wine was pleasant. We started with Garlic Bread with Cheese. It was the only menu item I would not order again. Flavors did not come together. I ate my fair share so it was good. Just not great. We then shared a cheese pizza with provel. Elite crust and sauce! The crust had an amazing char and the sauce was deliciously nuanced. The cheese was very good, but most definitely not the star of the pie. Pasta Pomodoro was wonderful. House made pasta was excellent and the sauce was a perfect accompaniment. (Anthonino's really does sauces well!) I finished with tiramisu and I am so glad I did! Did I need it? No. Did I want it? Heck yeah! I think I will be wanting it every day for a long time to come! All of the staff were welcoming and friendly, while remaining efficient. Nice group of people. I would love to be a regular here.

Since this place is such a staple, we figured we had to give it a try. The place was absolutely packed, which clearly shows it's a local favorite. Even with how busy they were, our pickup order was ready on time -- actually before the scheduled pickup since I arrived about five minutes early. The atmosphere definitely had that classic local sandwich shack vibe and seemed like it would make a great casual lunch spot for almost any occasion. Unfortunately, the food itself just didn't live up to the reputation for us. We ordered the hot salami sandwiches, which they're known for, but they were extremely greasy and the only flavors that really stood out were mustard and grease. We expected a lot more flavor and balance considering it's their specialty item. We also placed a large luncheon order of 10 sandwiches. Everyone was satisfied overall and the food was decent enough, but nothing really stood out or made us excited to come back. We personally prefer Adriana's for both flavor and overall quality. One of the biggest disappointments was that none of the sandwiches had cheese on them, even though we paid an extra $2 per sandwich for the garlic cheese bread upgrade. That was frustrating considering the additional charge. Honestly, I'm guessing we may have just caught them on an off day because it's obvious this spot has a loyal following. We still appreciate supporting local STL businesses and can understand why so many people love it -- it just wasn't quite the experience we were expecting.

It turned out to be an awesome, beautiful day to visit the zoo this past Saturday. After the zoo, we headed to The Hill for lunch. We met up at the old Amighetti's Bakery location, which is now Marconi Mercato Restaurant and Bar. This was our first time visiting the restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised by the decor and layout. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and was a great place for our family to relax after spending the morning at the zoo. Our server, Paige, did a fantastic job taking care of our table of nine. She was friendly, attentive, and consistently checked back with us to make sure everything was good. The food was very good, and everyone at the table was happy with the quality and taste. We ordered a couple of Bishop Burgers, a Chicken sandwich, a Classic burger, Roast Beef sandwiches, and several sides, including the Insalata Italiana, Brussels sprouts, roasted potatoes, and white pasta. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we also ordered a few drinks. The food prices were in line with what I'd expect from other restaurants in the area. The drinks were a little on the higher side, but they were very good. Overall, everything turned out great. We all enjoyed the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Then you go to a different spot to order coffee and pay. The cashier wasn't sure what the desserts we ordered were called, so she had trouble finding what to ring in. Just made it seem a little unorganized. We were also surprised that tiramisu wasn't an option. But tasty either way! Be sure to stop in and try them out.

This caused me to have an absence seizure and subsequent migraine. Edit: Hi Darcy, I am aware of the need for exterior cameras in any place of business. I do believe you will see that I was clearly on the sidewalk, not on cafe property, when your camera began flashing. There was no audio warning, I rounded the corner and the flashing lights started. To reiterate, because you seem to have not actually read my review before assuming my complaint: there was NO audio warning before the camera began strobing. I am not exaggerating when I say this camera caused me to have a medical event. Please consider motion-activated flood lights and an exterior camera that does not flash a light to secure your building. Your security theatre causes safety problems for those of us just trying to go for a walk in the neighborhood after work. Also, to keep this review fair and balanced, I have had your coffee and it is quite good. I am just as upset to have had this experience as you apparently are to receive this feedback. Personally, if I was informed that I caused this issue for someone, I would demonstrate a bit of concern for their wellbeing. Again, I understand the need for cameras. This is not a review complaining that you have cameras. This is a review to let you know that the specific camera you use is hazardous to people with disabilities, in hopes that you may find the empathy to adjust your CCTV setup. Thanks for responding and please reconsider your specific camera system. In the meantime, I will be sure to direct my photosensitive friends away from The Fiddlehead Fern.
