I went into boot barn, not knowing exactly what I needed, and was overwhelmed by the huge selection of boots. But I was greeted by some of the friendliest sales people that I've ever found. Turns out that Jordan I believe he's the manager is an expert in boots. He took the time to ask me what I was looking for and showed me how many different styles and colors until I settled on a beautiful pair of black ostrich. But he wasn't finished. He said you really need a hat to go with that and then we went over to the hat bar and I left with a pair of boots and a new hat. Just before New Years I went to the store to look for some new boots. I was so overwhelmed by the vast selection of merchandise. The store was so welcoming and the staff helpful. We popped into this store unexpectedly and what we thought would be a quick errand took 1hr and 15min. There was only 1 sales partner working in the hat section and after my husband bought his hat, a gentleman jumped him in the line for shaping (not sure how that happened but we waited very patiently). Each hat shaping was taking 15-20+min. I'm not even sure we were satisfied with the final shape, but given how long we had been at the store, we had to go. Probably the worst shopping experience. These people do not care if they sell anything EVER. The store is usually empty. ( yes, I have tried to shop here many times because it's close) The service never changes. The staff have their noses in their phones or busy playing grab ass with each other. One of my favorite authentic western apparel stores. I just bought my daughter a great pair of Cowboy boots which she loves. I love the Shayenne jeans so much that now I own 4 pairs and no longer wear the old Levi's and Gap jeans. They are that comfortable. Customer service is awesome. Joyce is just the BEST!! A friend of mine was in the market for a new pair of boots. So we were in the store a good two hours, even 15 minutes past the the time to close, and no one was irritable with us . We were oblivious it was so late, but we did make an expensive purchase, so hopefully that helped. While in there , we experienced the best help and care, with pulling boots from the back , many boots poor sales girl !! I'm sorry I don't have her name .. but we did ask for the manager, so we could tell them what a good job she did with us, patience of a Saint , never getting irritable, not even once.. all smiles ! So the manager was helping us check out ! And she was so nice , asked us how things went and did we need anything else.. she helped us finding the correct cleaner and conditioner for these kind of boots, explaining how to use each. She was awesome too! Her name is Margo She was very nice and informative! While my friend finished checking out, I stepped over to the hat dept. and ask Alexis ( I believe was her name) tiny and long blond hair. I told her I had a hat I had purchased in Wyoming, the crushable felt kind. I had made the purchase quickly, and the hat ended up being too big for me . I asked her if they made something to adjust the size of the band inside , she gave me some felt strips , that were sticky, they go inside the head band. She instructed me how and where to apply them.. which I was so excited ! I bought the hat in Jackson Hole, Wy, and had never been able to wear it , for three years!! So we walked out of the store, happy and with smiles on our faces, all because of your AWESOME staff, and their AWESOME MANAGER, Margo !!! I ordered a hat online and was going to pick it up in person since they were the closest location that actually had the specific hat in stock. I get an email from Boot Barn stating that my order is ready for pickup, so I drive to Frisco to pick it up. I go to the checkout counter and inquire about my order. They only ask for my name, not my order number, not the item, just my name. I give them my name and wait for the checkout girl to retrieve it. She comes back and says they can't find it. She asked "did we call you? Cause we usually call when orders are in." I said I never got a call but was also not aware that the store would call. This seemed a bit odd because I already got an email stating "Your order is ready for pickup." Either the young girls working here are not very bright, or this location SUCKS and doesn't know what they're doing! Buy some everyday boots and a couple shirts and some jeans and your over $500 very easily. No offers to help find anything except -after- I'm already trying on boots. Had to track down a dude for the dressing room key. Bought a reasonable $200 pair of boots and when I asked for a box the replay was "You want one?" No, I want us to expel air out of our mouths with each other as a pastime. DEAR UPPER MANAGEMENT- fix this! This isn't the first time. It's the third. It's the last. I'm taking my business elsewhere. I am a VERY good customer of Sheplers. I have purchased several thousand dollars worth of merchandise with their online store. I wont do it anymore. The site is deceitful. They will advertise discounts such as the one that lured me into a purchase last night where the coupon states "Entire Site Included"..."Coupon Savings Automatically Apply". Now they do have a tiny little asterisk * right by that line. Shame on me for trusting that the words "ENTIRE SITE" meant...well the Entire Site. Turns out Lucchese boots are among the items that apparently don't meet the very simple language of "ENTIRE SITE". I don't even care about the money but you are being VERY DECEITFUL to use that wording and count on the tiny little asterisk which must scroll down and then click on a tiny link called "Details" only to then be told that "ENTIRE" does not actually mean Entire. Of course you could be honest and just say "MOST" or "The Majority" of the site is included please click below for details. I will buy directly from Lucchese from now on and I buy a lot! If I could only post a pic of the site 99% of those that view it will see the deceit involved. I went into the store today for a minor adjustment to my hat so that it would look nice for an event today, as I walk in I'm not greeted and I walk over to the hat section. When I get there I wait a few minutes until I finally ask someone if they could get my hat shaped, the response was "We'll have someone there in a minute". 20 minutes go by until someone offers to help so they go behind the counter but then say that the other person was not there because they went to go get water. I wait 30 more minutes until the assistant manager finally offers to help me I ask her how long is it gonna be and she says "I'm not trying to give you any bullshit I'm the only one in the store who knows how to shape hats right now and I was stuck with a new hire". They then proceed to finally go into the back and get the water for the steamer and it takes them another 30 minutes on top of the hour I had been standing there to shape my hat! I strongly recommend driving the 5-10 extra miles to go to a different location because this one has terrible customer service and I do not see myself coming back. read more

Where do I begin? The staff is not very nice and when I say staff ;I mean the managers. Most of them have attitudes with customers and make snoody looks to customers. There are a lot of great employees, but some of them don't do their job. I have worked here and I can say that the managers definitely pick favorites ,which is unprofessional. And they make sure that it is known who the favorites are. I would only shop here if you want to be signed up for the "rewards" against your own will. Need to bring Sheplers back!!! Boot Barn said they would keep the level of service up there when they purchased the chain..JOKE! First off, employees walking around the store with hands in pockets. Guys and gals walking around following each other. Employees (Most), don't wear name tags, so you can't tell who is working there and who is not. You can quickly pick one or two that are working hard, because they are wearing name tags and not just walking around like they are waiting for a Uber. No employees greeting you when you enter the store. The store was not at all busy inside. One guy in a hat said hello as he walked by near the belt department...and just kept walking by. Finally found someone to help us out by standing in the middle of the store and looking completely lost. We picked out a pair of boots by ourself. No tag or store identifier on the boots. Do we buy these, or get a pair from the back??? Blocked a female employee (again no name tag), who HAD to help us now. Went to the front to find out how much the item was. No problem with price. Not a rewards member, but she apparently opened an account without asking. I know because she asked a half dozen questions. Took my boots, dropped them in a red christmas box, no tissue paper to prevent scuffing or damage, just tossed them into the box like some leftover pizza crust after finishing off the pizza. This is a Christmas present! No presentation of the item. No I have to g get some tissue paper to properly place the boot in the box. Next time, I'll go to Cavenders or even Payless. There at least, the employees are easily identified, attentive, eager to help and care about you being a customer. Not a fan of BB at all, sorry. read more

Shepler's wasn't great, but their customer service was exceptional. This place is a total joke. I bought their boot insole less than 3 months ago and it's already rolling up on the heel. Took them back today and was told "that's normal wear". I specifically asked if they should last more than three months and again was told, "no, hats probably about right. Maybe you should buy the Ariat brand ones?" I told them I would, at Cavender's. I'll never be back to this place! read more
