However some things to note:…read more-The internet can be knocked out during bad weather (snow storms, thunderstorms, etc) since it is delivered wirelessly to the building (at least in my building's case). -Reliability when weather isn't a factor is incredibly high in my experience compared to other ISPs. -Speed is awesome. My building is supported for 100mbps, but I usually get around 200-300mbps download speeds, and at least 200mbps upload speed at all times. Sometimes my upload or download will peak around 500mbps. -Their support staff really knows their stuff. It's not like calling another ISP's support where you get tier1 support who asks you do to the basic troubleshooting. The support staff you get when you first call is likely the person who will truly be able to fix your issue. I work in IT, and absolutely appreciate this. THAT SAID, their hold times when calling for support are usually pretty terrible. I've been on hold before (including last night) for 1+ hours and then the call gets disconnected for whatever reason. Their email/online support is pretty lackluster. No way of updating or creating tickets online short of emailing them. In my current case, I've emailed them in response to a ticket and they seem to ignore the email altogether. I'm now trying to call them to get the issue resolved. Overall, I'd give them an A- as a grade. If they could up their support, it'd be the best ISP out there.

Unreliable, often down, especially at night. Fast when up but I'd prefer slow but reliable.read more

Upon entering the store, a dark skinned hispanic woman was "cursing", using obscene profanity as she described an encounter she had with a customer. She exclaimed aloud, "that son of a bitch", and continued cursing as her fellow hispanic female coworkers laughed profusely. As we approached the counter, another hispanic xfiniity customer service rep called us a "racial slur" in spanish and though that we didnt know what she was saying.. But, we were well aware of the derogatory language that she called us... I have often heard about xfinity and its poor customer service... But, today I actually experienced it for myself. I did not visit this xfinity store to be called a racial slur by a hispanic xfinity employee. But, I went to the store to return equipment. Not to be called a racial slur!!! If this is how xfinity treats its employees, then I am cancelling my service an finding another internet carrier with better customer service... The behavior of these women was appalling and very unproffesional!!!! I will never return, and I advise all African Americans not to go to this location as these women are unproffesional... SMH!!!

Xfinity as a whole is garbage nowadays so I had low expectations.

Terrible. The sales person on the phone raved about the speed and even congratulated me that the…read moreservice was available in my area. He said it was so fast that my netflix and hulu wouldn't buffer at all. I signed up for a plan that cost over $50 per month for 6mb speed and never got more than 1.75mb. Usually it was under 1mb and half the time, I couldn't log onto the Internet at all. I ended up on the phone with tech support for over two hours the first day and they couldn't figure out the speed problem. I called back two weeks later and this time they ADMITTED that there was no way I would EVER get a speed faster than 1.75mb in my area. One good thing was that they told me anything under 4mb was considered, "unacceptable" for my plan by Clear's standards. So, FYI, if you are under a contract for the 6mb plan and get less than 4mb you should be able to cancel. I am within the 30 day trial period so I can cancel the service. However, the customer service rep. couldn't transfer me to the cancellation department because they were so busy! Clear is making promises to Chicagoans that they cannot keep. F-A-I-L!

The connection is constantly disconnecting, and it is freakin SLOW. Online gaming is inoperable and netflix takes forever to load. It's outrageous that I'm paying $65 a month for this crappy service. The only reason I put up with clear is because I didn't want to pay the early cancellation fees for something that doesn't work properly in the first place. ......but since its a new year, my new years resolution is to cancel my clear account, even though if I have to pay the early cancellation fee. I don't want to deal with the frustration anymore.

They run off of cell phone towers kind of like a hot spot but using a MoFi Router Antenna system. We had them for a year and a half and the service was great! We could stream whatever we wanted, the kids could play on their X-Box and when Covid hit I had two people working from home always on the computer. No problem... until recently they had to change our service, they took away our unlimited data and put us down to 300GB told us they were sending us a new SIM card plus they were going to charge us an additional $20/month. What the heck!?? But what other options did we have besides At&t (we heard it's horrible downloads speeds are at 5mb/s) and Satellite? NONE!. We are unable to get any type of hight speed cable/fiberoptic at our locations. So we installed the new SIM card and couldn't get a connection and tried several times! I called and left messages, they said they would call back and never did. I emailed and they sent out a big letter stating if you are still having problems with connectivity then you need to get another plan depending on what cell service you have. We have Verizon so to get that one it was going to cost us even more $. So we went from paying $89/month now up to $129/month an additional $40/month. Another SIM card was shipped out. I tried installing it. No connection, I tried calling the company multiple times, put on hold for over 40 min emailed and they told me that my card wouldn't be activated until that night which was on November 12th, 2021 so we waited and we tried again on the 13th and again on the 14th and no connectivity. So I emailed the company demanding a refund on service and equipment. They only refunded the service because of course the refund policy on the equipments only goes up to 14 days after purchase. Even thought this was their screw up changing service on us and not even calling to try and help us out. And I'm so tired of companies saying "Unlimited High Speed Internet, oh until you reach so many GB then we are going to reprioritized you and slow you WAY DOWN. That's a flat out lie, you can't say unlimited high speed if you are going to slow us down. Such crap!! I would not recommend this company to anyone at this time. I don't know if they changed ownership. Before this big switch in service I could call any time and get a hold of someone. It's unfortunate that companies don't treat their customers with respect. We are the one's making you money.
