This is a new (to me) nail salon . We haven't been here in two years and this was a pleasant surprise. I was able to get an appointment same day in the time frame I desired. Was welcomed warmly to Boone Nail Salon and appreciated the use of technology at check in. Pandemic protocols were as expected: masks required; all employees were masked; plexiglass partitions. Hand sanitizer available. Jay did my pink & white SNS dip manicure and was gentle and as I expected. I was very pleased to feel like my nails were "back together!" He could tell girls were uncomfortable and continued to disrespect us. He told us multiple times that our college degrees were worthless and we will not make any money and that we would never find happiness in life. So I walked inside and signed in. First, I was never acknowledged. Once signing in the kiosk never asked what service I wanted so I walked to the front counter. There was someone standing there and so I tried to tell her what I wanted. I was asked to step aside or have a seat. Ok cool! Before I got my nails done I looked online and these guys had great reviews so I went to them. My experience was not pleasant. The man who did my nails was very clearly not happy to be there and had an attitude. He rushed and cut me a few times and made me bleed as you can probably tell by my cuticles. The design was very disappointing and I left unhappy. I haven't been back since. I give them 2 stars because they had modern music and drinks while I waited and the overall environment was fine but I still would not recommend to a friend. read more

i've been here a few times, and the nails come out fine. Not bad, not great, but worth the money and about as good as you're going to get in the Boone area. My only complaint is that my nail tech started to get very deep into conversation with me, asking me personal questions about family, and it eventually got to the point where he said "no one cares about you, your family doesn't love you." I respectfully, not in a Karen way, put him in his place, and paid and left. I thought that was a very out-of-pocket response for me talking about how much I love my family, and especially how nosy he was getting with me. I had an appointment on a weekday morning during my vacation for a mani/pedi. Started off with a male technician for the pedicure portion and then while my feet were soaking he started removing the dip powder on my fingernails (so things seemed great at that point). He abruptly told me he had to take another client and that someone else would take over for him. The lady who later took over kept stopping to stare at anyone that came in the salon, got up repeatedly to talk to other technicians, and she'd put the utensils down to take/make phone calls on her smart watch. My sister was with me and got a manicure and once it was done she sat by me for the remainder of my pedicure but once I was moved to the nail bar for my manicure there wasn't anywhere for her to sit by me so she left to browse the other stores in the strip mall and once she was done shopping she still had to wait some time for my manicure to end. I don't understand why the manager allowed the technician to drag things out the way she did when people were walking in without appointments wanting service; if the technician had focused on her job I would have been done in a much, much, much shorter amount of time and been a happy customer plus she would have been freed up to take more clients. Poor health practices. Nail techs coming to work sick. This would bother me pre covid. Two nail techs were coughing, sneezing and overheard telling clients that they were sick with colds. Surfaces are not disinfected between clients and visibly dirty. Hard pass on this local business. read more

Over priced! Went in for a nail set and a pedicure , I chose the basic $35 pedicure , was charged $90 my nail set was $80. I paid $170 for maybe a $80 service. I began by booking online, reading reviews and picking a nail tech. I arrived, signed in and was instructed to sit in pedi chair. 20 minutes later a man(I picked a women tech) came to do my pedi. It was the worst pedi I have ever had. I have been having pedis done for 35 years. The massage was 1 min. and he didn't even massage my right foot. When I brought it to his attention he said he did do it and if I wanted the massage to be longer I would need to get the spa pedi. When he was done painting he told me to sit and wait for them to dry. I mentioned that I was having a manicure done too. He was shocked and started looking around. He then rushed me to a mani chair and RAPIDLY began filing my nails while asking me what I wanted done. I wanted dips and I picked a color. That was done. I've been here twice for a pedicure and a manicure. They are AMAZING. Everyone here is so friendly, and willing to accommodate to any need/want. They make you feel welcome. I had my first mani/pedi & eye threading with Boone nail bar. I had a positive experience, I called the day prior to schedule & was seen in a timely manner. The tech who did my mani didn't do as great of a job with my French mani, during my threading the owner noticed & took the initiative by asking me if I could stay to have it redone. So overpriced dont go here!! At first me and my friend were super excited because we hadn't gotten acrylics in a while but as soon as we got there it was bad vibes. Chris was super creepy and was saying weird things to me while doing my nails and the guy who did my friends nails didn't know what he was doing and told her she needed dip powder to do ombré nails, which is false. It was also super loud in there and chris was on facetime most of the time not paying attention to what he was doing. I left the salon with my cuticles bleeding and dry. They charged me $65 for a basic full set (i think he gave me gel without asking) and they charged my friend $70. Please don't waste your time or money on this awful place. read more

Vincent (bald employee) uncomfortably flirts with girls and searches for them on social media. The other workers in the salon are aware but let him continue to do it. I was really disappointed with the professionalism here and even after making an appointment, having to wait 45 minutes to get my nails done is a bit ridiculous. An appointment is made in advance for a reason. I was on time for my appointment, I expect the same professionalism for the business to be upheld. I had also made an appointment the day before, and was told that the person I scheduled with had left for the day. I was never apologized to or offered anything for the inconvenience and had just wasted my time/gas to get there. I get that things happen, but the way it was handled made me feel unprioritized as a customer. Some of the comments made to me during my visit made me feel uncomfortable as well. I got asked to pull my mask down so that the man (Chris) working on my nails could "see my pretty face". I was really tempted to just leave after the comments kept coming. I was also not really happy with the shape of my nails, the edges were not sharp or clean. i went in for acrylics and a pedi today. Pleased with the results and Chris is very personable, but he was all over the place doing too many things at once. I had an appt and someone else walked in without one, he put foil on my fingers to remove the gel and left it there over an hour while he worked on someone without an appointment. I think my mistake was telling him I wasn't in a hurry. I won't do that again. I was there for 2 hours and 45 minutes; way too long for the services received. read more

Made an appt with Chris at 1:30 days in advance and text him the night before to confirm and the next day he doesn't show up until 3 pm and called at 2 pm saying he was at Walmart and would be there in 10 mins. The most alarming thing I noticed during my last 2 appointments is there are no nail files, drills, or other tools being cleaned. He did my friends nails and used the same nail file on mine with all the dead skin on it and the same drills he's been using on who only knows how many others. It's really alarming that this hasn't been brought up and no one has said anything to him about these dirty ass habits, not to mention him not being focused on my nails at all and getting up 10 times to take calls, FaceTime, and talk. I started going here in January and I gotta be honest, CHRIS HAD ME FOOLED TOO. He would sweet talk me and give me my nails for free, but I started to get worried when he started asking if he could only do my nails after hours and if I could give him rides home (I never said yes but was asked multiple times). I had a friend who was asked to stay late when inquiring about getting her eyebrows waxed. They were the only two in the place and he shut the door. He just kept telling her how pretty she was and asked her to help find him a girlfriend because "he likes white girls." THEN KISSED HER ON THE FOREHEAD AFTER HE WAS DONE. She hasn't been back since. I know for a fact that the owner/Chris come on Google and delete the bad reviews too because I've seen awful ones that just disappear. I think the worst thing I've witnessed here is the reuse of purple wax for the pedicures. While I was waiting for someone to exit the restroom I was watching some of the nail techs dig old wax out of the trash cans and put them back in the warmer. THAT IS DEAD SKIN GUYS!!! And every single time I go into the salon, even while having an appointment, I ALWAYS wait hours to even get started and it's because I "know Chris". IF I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT CHRIS THAT MEANS I WANT TO GET IN AND OUT BEFORE YOU ASK ME TO STAY UNTIL 10PM AGAIN. One last thing, the insanely long Instagram story posts with pictures of him crying is SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Not to mention the endless posts of him being "too drunk off of patron" or even the Instagram profile picture being bottles of liquor. Nothing this man does is professional and it drives me insane. I could go on and on about this place, but I'll just tell you now DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Sure the people are nice, but Chris is a little too nice and more creepy than anything. I'd be interested to know why he really "left" his old salon or if someone actually called him out on his actions. My daughter and I visited Boone Nail Bar while visiting the area for Christmas. We called first to see if we needed an appointment, and they said they could take us in the next 15 minutes, so we headed right over. This was December 23rd, so we were thankful they were able to see us! I had a manicure with gel color and my daughter had acrylic nails with tips done and also her eyebrows waxed. They did an excellent job in all areas. My nails were done better than at the place I usually attend back home and the girl who did my nails, Kathy, was fun to talk to as well. My daughter was thrilled with her nails, which she had done in a glittery pink color and she was also impressed with the eyebrow waxing. The person who did her nails (I didn't get his name) was also friendly and a pleasure to talk to. When we were finished, they even gave us little Christmas gifts, which were little goodie bags with a face mask inside. worst nail salon to ever exist. girl who removed my SNS didn't know what drill bit to use and slipped multiple times, which cut me. she burned every single nail bed to the point where they hurt, HURT, for days. the man who did my nails (henry? or something like that) didnt dull the buffer. when that happens, you get cut. every single one of my fingers were bleeding when i left, i am not joking. they hurt so bad. he applied around NINE layers of SNS when the average is three to four. they were thick, heavy, and lumpy. i always get a gel top coat on my SNS because i find it lasts longer and was told it cost extra which is uncommon. i got it and the guy didn't even know that you wipe it with rubbing alcohol after. that is basic knowledge for nail techs. chris is a little odd and inappropriate towards his customers. he requests almost everyone's instagram and contacts them in some way on it. this place really needs to be shut down, for obvious reasons. please do not go here. read more
