HOWEVER, that changed as soon as we walked through the door. First, having a meal at Dakota's Restaurant is like sharing a meal with your grandma - excellent food and beautiful souls serving you. The ladies (and I saw a gentleman in the kitchen) are all sweet, hustling, kind, and attentive to your every need. I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, 100% Angus Beef, and when I saw "chips" as the side I was anticipating a bag of chips - but these were homemade and DELICIOUS! I had their sweet tea, which I could have drunk a gallon. I had a bit of my sister's Chicken Fried Steak sandwich (she got it sans bun) and it was HUGE and so tasty! Her baked potato was loaded and baked to perfection. The ladies serving were plentiful and touched base to make sure we had everything we needed. They said that they appreciated our visit and hoped that they would see us again. I have to mention that our bill was beyond a great deal! I left feeling wonderfully full - my tummy and my soul.
