Ken Higgins!! What a great guy and a dear person to discuss many things with! They have so many great books but his CS Lewis knowledge is exceptional! Samuel Johnson anyone? Ken is your go to!!

Great find for used and some new books! Broken up into many shelves and littles rooms. The main floor has the stacks one sees walking in but there are many nooks and crannies to explore. There are books, DVDs, comic books, posters, and did I mention all the books in every genre? Had a stroll and picked up two books totally all of ten dollars. Parking is easy with the lot in the back. Walking up the short stairs brings one to the back patio with a lot of specials on sale. Found my two finds, Mark Twain on California and The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky. I had a great time here. Love the feel, the books, and the nice man that charged my sale by hand. This is what is great about exploring new places.

This bookstore is truly a gem. It's entrance is sort of in an alley and the outside is unassuming but it is full of so many treasures. I stumbled upon it before writing a review so I had no idea it was a book co-op. But it makes sense because different sections of the store are numbered. They have records, VHS, DVDs, movie posters, tapes, and of course books. There are SO MANY books and it's sort of an organized mess, which I loved. I would definitely give yourself some time to really take a good look through the stuff, but I'm sure they can find what you want if you're looking for something specific. There is a huge parking lot behind the bookstore, I don't know if you have to pay for parking. I had parked a few blocks away for free. But know that there is ample parking right by the bookstore if/when you choose to visit. Reading other reviews it seems like some people had issues with customer service. When I went in there were two men tending to the bookstore, one was super friendly and asked if he could help. The other was at the cash register and was nice enough. Everyone has an off day, and it's no reason to write off this gem of a bookstore. COVID Update: They ask that everyone wear a mask, there is a sign on the door as you go in. There is hand sanitizer at the front for customers. The man who rang me up had his mask on his chin, but he was eating. I wish he would have put the mask on while he was checking me out, but again, he was eating so I get it.

The owner is very passionate about music and you can tell it from talking to him. He is friendly, was chatting with all the different customers about what they picked, and even gives good suggestions! I bought a record from a band I had never heard of before (Fox Medicine). They were in the metal section but it was cute and bright pink. I looked them up quickly and listened to a couple songs and told myself I had to get that record. The owner was chatting with me about if I liked them or not and I was honest about literally just discovering them. He gave me one of their posters free of charge! They had just performed at his store and so he had a few left. I didn't realize he was giving it to me until we were leaving, I thought he was just showing me the poster. That absolutely made my day once I realized he was just giving it to me. The variety in this store is amazing with loads of vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and even music equipment! Prices are very fair, and everything is properly labeled. Instead of me having to get my hopes up inspect the record, the front usually says the condition, pressing, if it's colored, etc. I don't have to waste my time inspecting it myself, as the staff has already done the leg work. They even have a bargain bin (wall) with great deals! Down on the floor was a box that had cheap project vinyl too. When I worked at a record store I remember teachers coming in looking for the cheapest ones they could find for a various lessons they had coming up. I'm glad The Audio Nerd has a box for people like them. The store is a little bit cramped with how small it is and with how much product they carry, but it is such a gem and so fun to flip through. You can spend an hour or two easily in there despite it being a small store. Live shows even happen here! They move some of the tables out and put a band in there. Shout out Hayden for always promoting upcoming shows there! And as if this place couldn't get any cooler, they also do punch cards too... Who has ever heard of a record store doing a punch card before? Absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a cool new record store, The Audio Nerd is a great place to check out.

This place is nothing short of sublime and well worth whatever it takes for you to make the…read morepilgrimage. I say "pilgrimage" because 1. it was a 4 hour drive and 2. it may well be the most wonderful aural experience you will ever have. I don't care how nice your headphones are, they cannot get anywhere near the imaging, depth, and impact that is provided by the equipment in this store. Remember, sound is a pressure wave, you don't just hear it with your ears, it is something you can feel with your whole body as it vibrates the air all around you. Likely if you are reading this review then you already have your reason for being interested in what this store has to offer. My reason is that I first experienced the greats of rock on my parents' hifi system (equipped with traditional large woofers) and have a need to imprint that same experience on my children (in the hope that they will have their third eye open to what music can be: time capsules, exploding with pure emotion). So, equipped with reason enough to visit, what makes Fly Hifi worth it? So many reasons. The most basic: you'll get better quality equipment here than ANYWHERE else for a much lower price. Other important factors: reliability (all equipment has a 30 day guarantee), a great demo space (great isolation and acoustically treated walls), ideal amplification (you'll hear the speakers' full potential), expertise (Steve knows his stuff but does not lord it over you), and vibes (all the other things that you can't find anywhere else like the comfy chairs, smell of high quality wood cabinets, zero pressure to buy from folks who enjoy what they are doing). So if you read all the way to here you're probably thinking, "Ok dude, I get to the point, you liked going to the vintage hifi store (who wouldn't?); what did you actually BUY?" Answer: The Klipsch Cornwall IIIs. I listened to them and in moments I knew they were exactly what I wanted. The punch of the bass seamlessly integrated with the crystal clear mids was so focused and clear which was exactly how I felt when I first heard my parents' system with my 3 year old hyper-sensitive frame. These things are going to blow my children away (with fidelity, not dBs; be responsible) and if my kids only come out of their childhoods with a passing interest in music it will not be for lack of the right exposure! I could not be happier with everything from pre-sales communication through purchase. Thanks again Steve for all your help and I'll be sure to follow up as I build out the system.

This is a niche business of the highest order. If you are a connoisseur of 1970's - 2000's vintage…read morehigh end music making components this place is Shangri-La. I am a reformed audiophile / musician. 55 years ago I owned a frequently changing collection of big, beautiful and powerful high fidelity equipment. 95% made in the USA. Much of it movie theater caliber like giant Altec-Lansing speakers. I belonged to a small cadre of like minded audio nuts who were on a perpetual quest for machines that would turn our living rooms into giant sounding concert halls. The preferred recordings were all on vinyl LP disks. At the peak of my music addiction in the early 2000's I owned a record shop with 60,000 units. My current at home record collection is a meager 3,000 albums. So walking into this shop was an instant time travel experience to the days of my youth. I recognized and had previously owned some of the components on display. I didn't buy anything while visiting here, my family was with me and I didn't have an opportunity to browse the vinyl LP collection in the sale racks. I'll return to do that. If you are a newbie to vintage high end audio, this place should be on your bucket list to visit. If your current music listening method is from your phone feeding a pair of AirPods, you don't know what you are missing in the subtle details that recording artists painstakingly create. If you love music and want to hear and enjoy it more, visit here.

Love how the price label has additional info about the condition of the vinyl. Pricing was about right. Saw some good deals, some that might be a tick high, but nothing crazy. And to support a local shop, most definitely worth it. But what really struck me was how friendly the staff were. I overheard one of the employees helping a customer and giving them really good advice, not only on selection, but how to care for their vinyl. Thoughtful! As I was checking out, they noticed my selection and next thing I knew we were talking about the band, their previous tour, their upcoming concert, etc. Another customer even joined in the convo.
