The owner is very passionate about music and you can tell it from talking to him. He is friendly, was chatting with all the different customers about what they picked, and even gives good suggestions! I bought a record from a band I had never heard of before (Fox Medicine). They were in the metal section but it was cute and bright pink. I looked them up quickly and listened to a couple songs and told myself I had to get that record. The owner was chatting with me about if I liked them or not and I was honest about literally just discovering them. He gave me one of their posters free of charge! They had just performed at his store and so he had a few left. I didn't realize he was giving it to me until we were leaving, I thought he was just showing me the poster. That absolutely made my day once I realized he was just giving it to me. The variety in this store is amazing with loads of vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and even music equipment! Prices are very fair, and everything is properly labeled. Instead of me having to get my hopes up inspect the record, the front usually says the condition, pressing, if it's colored, etc. I don't have to waste my time inspecting it myself, as the staff has already done the leg work. They even have a bargain bin (wall) with great deals! Down on the floor was a box that had cheap project vinyl too. When I worked at a record store I remember teachers coming in looking for the cheapest ones they could find for a various lessons they had coming up. I'm glad The Audio Nerd has a box for people like them. The store is a little bit cramped with how small it is and with how much product they carry, but it is such a gem and so fun to flip through. You can spend an hour or two easily in there despite it being a small store. Live shows even happen here! They move some of the tables out and put a band in there. Shout out Hayden for always promoting upcoming shows there! And as if this place couldn't get any cooler, they also do punch cards too... Who has ever heard of a record store doing a punch card before? Absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a cool new record store, The Audio Nerd is a great place to check out.

I was finding so many cool and unique jewelry pieces specifically. They also have vintage toys, clothing, furniture, and anything else you can think of. Everything is priced affordably as well. It's a two story vintage shop, with mainly clothing and books on the top floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You can tell they care a lot about their shop. Love how the price label has additional info about the condition of the vinyl. Pricing was about right. Saw some good deals, some that might be a tick high, but nothing crazy. And to support a local shop, most definitely worth it. But what really struck me was how friendly the staff were. I overheard one of the employees helping a customer and giving them really good advice, not only on selection, but how to care for their vinyl. Thoughtful! As I was checking out, they noticed my selection and next thing I knew we were talking about the band, their previous tour, their upcoming concert, etc. Another customer even joined in the convo. Fun! This place will definitely be a regular stop for me. Plus, living in Folsom, I think they're the closest to me .. bonus!
