My trade credit card wasn't working for an online purchase and I was confused about the rewards program, so my boyfriend called the store for help. The employee, Isaac, immediately said it wasn't his transaction so it wasn't his fault. My bf said we don't blame him, but want this fixed. He would not let my bf finish a sentence, and when we said we'll just come in to talk to the manager and get this figured out, Isaac said 'is that a threat?'. My bf repeatedly said no, but Isaac continued yelling and saying we were harassing him. We went to the second location in town to get help in person and were met with another employee who said he couldn't help us and that he was expecting a 'hostile customer' who was coming to 'roll up on' and 'fight' them because that's what Isaac had called ahead and told him.. It was so inappropriate and frustrating. I just wanted to buy a digital game with my credit ! I came back an hour later when the manager was there and she easily explained the issue and fixed it within 10 minutes. She apologized for how the employees acted and was super helpful. 6 hours later from when I first tried to buy the game I finally have it. I will definitely avoid going to the Yuba City locations again. It was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I'm still confused why the first employee blew everything out of proportion when the issue wasn't even about him, we were just trying to ask him for help. Typical Gamestop. Good selection of games, both new and used. Sign up for a free rewards card to earn points and get special freebies. They have lots of used games that can be purchased for a good deal sometimes. This store is located in the Walmart shopping area. There is another Gamestop not that far down the street at the mall also. It's a good store to go to if you are looking for video games and accessories. They also have a clearance section where stuff is marked down. Used games can vary in prices. I've found some for only a few bucks off the new to only $1!! Do your research to ensure that you are getting a good deal on the used games. They also have lots of pre-order games and special Gamestop only special editions of games. My brother and I came in today to buy some games... however, the line move soooo and I mean soooo slow that we ended up leaving!! This is the only GameStop where a person couldn't tell the difference between a PS4 and a PS5 version of the game. I preordered and fully paid for a King of Fighters Omega edition for the PS5 and Reid gave it to a customer who ordered a PS4 version of the game. Reid didn't even look at the box from what he's telling me. He just gave my copy. He didn't call me that he messed up and before I arrived there at 8:30 PM. To add insult to injury, he offered a 10% discount for a game I already paid for and I get the game some other day. It cost more to drive there a second time to pick up the same game he totally messed up on. But he's putting the blame on the company for supposedly only getting one copy of the game. I don't believe him as the game is highly anticipated and is advertised in their store. He's just spouting out excuses. I sense a lot of carelessness, and mostly incompetence from this fellow. I'd understand if a person messed up on a PS4/PS5 version of the game if they're colorblind and can't read. But as a GameStop employee, that's unacceptable. Manager (Guy in particular) is also useless and not very helpful either. They can't even properly communicate to me if they found a replacement and I had to call them instead of them calling me. He immediately recommended battlefield along with a few other games. They didn't have it in stock but he referred me to another local game stop in the mall that had it. I like this location so much better then the one at the Yuba Sutter mall. It's much larger, has a much better selection, and the staff is a lot friendlier. It's fairly clean and for the most part the staff is really helpful. I highly recommend this location if your in the market for games and/or consoles. Much safer to go here then say a Wal-Mart or Target, if for no other reason then you'll actually get your questions answered by someone who knows what they're talking about. I go in there when I need something for my 360. I always try to buy preowned when available. I've only had one instance where the item I bought was faulty. I was able to take it back and get it exchanged for a working one. No questions asked. Almost all questions about games can be answered by a member of the staff. We told Briar what we needed (headset for PS4) he suggested a good pair & offered co workers opinions on which they preferred. I forgot to bring my HDMI cable with my PS3, but the staff was willing to take the one out of the new PS4 for it. Went on Black Friday to buy Black Ops 4 with my 17 year old, 6 foot 3 cousin. Waited in line for over half an hour. Cousin forgot his id and when I said I'll buy it he said that if my cousin had no id then no of us that came together could buy anything that was rated mature, even the 3 of us well over the legal age. Went and bought a rock band 4 for Christmas and then was given a complete run around for the price change of 50.00 dollars ...I was told there different things and went to the store expecting to get our 50.00 dollars back and was given another run around by the manager all because I didn't have my receipt... I wasn't given a receipt I have every receipt for everything but game stops ...I called game stop corporation and was finally given good customer service by a supervisor it's unfortunate that I had to go to such extremes to get what is advertised by game stop but the supervisor gave me the receipt number so we can get our 50.00 dollars back ..... I went back to the store and was given good service finally .... It should of never come to this ...I think the store needs a better manager and employers read more
