So 3 days ago I bought a game from the Roseville Galleria location and I couldn't play the game because the associate at that store sold me a scratched copy with SEVERAL holes in it. So I went in to the location at the Yuba Sutter mall and got it exchanged (I purchased the one year warranty on the game at the Roseville location) and as soon as Christopher took the game out of the case and looked at it after I told him that it wouldn't play, he noticed the scratches and HOLES in the disc. So he gave me a full refund on the game and even helped me order another copy. So I want to give a shout-out to Christopher for his excellent customer service and the help he provided to me on getting another copy of the game! read more

If you have an issue with your transaction DO NOT ask the employees for help, go straight to the manager. My trade credit card wasn't working for an online purchase and I was confused about the rewards program, so my boyfriend called the store for help. The employee, Isaac, immediately said it wasn't his transaction so it wasn't his fault. My bf said we don't blame him, but want this fixed. He would not let my bf finish a sentence, and when we said we'll just come in to talk to the manager and get this figured out, Isaac said 'is that a threat?'. My bf repeatedly said no, but Isaac continued yelling and saying we were harassing him. We went to the second location in town to get help in person and were met with another employee who said he couldn't help us and that he was expecting a 'hostile customer' who was coming to 'roll up on' and 'fight' them because that's what Isaac had called ahead and told him.. It was so inappropriate, condescending and frustrating. I just wanted to buy a digital game with my credit. I came back an hour later when the manager was there and she easily explained the issue and fixed it within 10 minutes. She apologized for how the employees acted and was super helpful. 6 hours later from when I first tried to buy the game I finally have it. I will definitely avoid going to the Yuba City locations again. It was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I'm still confused why the first employee blew everything out of proportion when the issue wasn't even about him, we were just trying to ask him for help. I wish I had bought the game full price somewhere else rather than getting trade credit here. read more

I recently had a bad experience here which has deterred me from ever shopping here again. I've spent thousands of dollars at this store. I own 3 Xbox one, 2 PS4, and tons of other games and consoles. And with how you can buy a console or games at wal mart, target; Bestbuy, or any online retailer, you'd assume a store that only sells games would give some incentive to attract customers. Well they don't. I've been a power up elite member and always a member since as long as I can remember, and they act like you get deals, but they really aren't. Recently I wanted to get my 3rd Xbox for my game room for friends to play on when they come over. I purchased one for $299. That same night I got an email from Newegg for the exact same x box for $199. I also checked Bestbuy and few other sites app matching $199. The next day I called to see if I could price match or return and they said no sorry. Bestbuy gives me a 90 day price match guarantee. Wall mart would likely do same. The fact that they don't want to take care of my as a customer, especially when I spend way more than the average person, has deterred me from ever coming back and supporting such a corrupt ill-ran company. read more

Worst GameStop ever. Ordered some pops that were supposed to be available on release day. They weren't, and were very rude when my wife called to ask about it. They finally got them in over 2 weeks later on a Friday... or so they said. We drove all the way out to get them first thing Saturday since the jerk who called said they wouldn't be there by Sunday (even though I already put down a deposit!). Turns out they only got in 3 out of 4. Apparently they can't count. Then they got the 4th in on a Monday and when I tried to explain that I can't make it until the weekend because I work, Naz was kind enough to inform me they would not hold them past Thursday, and that I was lucky they were doing that since it was beyond their normal hold time of 48 hours. She acted like it was a massive gift that she would extend it one day to Thursday. Pathetic. I get that we pre-ordered pops that turned out to be very expensive and you want to steal them and sell them on eBay, but maybe try actually doing your job and helping customers. I used to love GameStop, been going there since they were Funcoland. This store has ruined that for me. Hopefully the next closest one has a competent staff and can turn things around. read more

I just left the store, waited approximately 10 minutes to purchase three games with my daughter. Both sales people were speaking individuals who simply just wanted to talk about Game systems. Neither clerk would make eye contact with my daughter or I and simply continued their conversations. We got frustrated placed the games back and walked out the door. The funny thing was right after we left the other male subject who is taking up the cashiers time walked out without purchasing anything. If one of them had simply said be right with you, we would have stayed and spend approximately $80. I won't be back to this store again! I like to support local businesses, but situations like this is why I've been utilizing Amazon prime more often. I Walked over to Walmart and got what I needed in two minutes. read more
