We needed a special cartridge for our brand new shower valve that failed. It's called a mixing valve to adjust the temperature. So we need a replacement. I found one here for 1/2 the factory price. Lucky. This was a job hold up problem to solve. read more

We had a sink faucet likely from the 1930s that no matter what gasket we replaced or how hard we tightened would still leak. We took it back off the sink and brought it in here. Yes, to a prior reviewer's point, they asked that everyone put on a mask, but they had them right there. I'm astonished at how rude the complainer was to refuse to put on a mask. There are many reasons the store might request it so why be rude? Anyway, the guy who was there (3rd generation of the family running the business) immediately said "American Standard, hold on" and went toward the back. A few min later came up with replacement metal pieces, explained that over time the metal get worn down and people tighten it down and then the metal wears more, repeat. The new one was, in fact, a different shape, and had a built in rubber gasket too. We took it home and sure enough, the leak was gone and it turned beautifully smoothly. This place is a gem and the knowledge they have is amazing. They are now also designing and 3D printing parts that are hard to find otherwise and improving on parts designed. So cool! read more

Bonnets Stems is a total hidden gem/diamond in the rough. The water pressure in our powder bath dropped suddenly. All parts were one year old so we were confused about what the issue could be. We called the plumber who did the install and he attempted to diagnose the problem, noting that is was likely a valve issue. None of the big box places were of any help, we ended up at Bonnets on the recommendation of one of my husbands co-workers. As others have noted, don't be deterred by the shabby store. They were able to not only find us the part we needed but they knew exactly why it failed. These are the types of stores that need more attention from locals. They fly under the radar. I will recommend Bonnets to friends and family anytime, and of course, as always, sharing a Yelp review further helps to spread the word about great local businesses like this! read more

Very very helpful- knew the parts required to fix the problems and explained how to do it- I came away with the impression that at least two of the family members employed knew by heart the hundreds of Stock Keeping Units on hand . read more

If I could give this place a negative 5 star review I would! Absolute worst service. I made a call with some questions for a shower handle replacement I was looking for and the girl that I spoke to wasn't friendly and was actually quite condescending. I figured maybe there was a miscommunication over the phone as to what I was inquiring so I decided to stop by the store to see if maybe they could help me in person instead. When I walked in they asked me to put a MASK on due to "nasty plumbing stuff flowing around" I decided I'd take my chances with "fumes" and such, so I didn't put the mask on and the two girls at the counter jumped down my throat and asked me to step outside. Seriously! It's 2024 COVID is over. I just can't understand how people can STILL be this brainless. Take your business elsewhere :) read more

Their focus is on helping, not selling. This is who your plumber comes to with questions.

We were ignoring a persistent leak in our DELTA faucet for too long. I finally went to Bonnets Stems & Accessories Inc. Bruce & Tatiana quickly identified the cartridge, informed me on exactly how to replace it including some Plumbers Grease. It couldn't be easier. They have all of the parts that the BBS don't have nor the knowledge. So happy that Bonnets Stems & Accessories Inc. is a true Locally owned company. Davis & Deborah read more

What an incredible delight and successful this experience was. We needed to repair a leaking water compression valve that was likely 40 years old. I phoned 2-3 "big name" places who were all stumped, even after I texted pictures to them. I then embarked on a 2 hour journey, stopping at big-box stores and speciality plumber supply stores that were subsequently recommended by those previous stores. None could solve the leak problem surrounding this old faucet that controlled all incoming water from the street to the house. The last place (Plumbers Supply Inc), to their credit, suggested I try Bonnets and Stems. Say what? Don't let this place fool you... while the storefront is decades old and small, therein lies ancient wisdom by the name of Bruce Nivens. He's old school ethical, he's a conversationalist. Indulge him. Upon handing him the "bonnet and stem" that I brought, he immediately diagnosed it and embarked on the solution that he'd forecasted. Barely 15 minutes later he returned with the correct replacement gasket and the stem polished to its natural copper beauty (it was black!). What some stores were warning would be a 3-4 hour replacement of pipe and valve ($$) Bruce was able to totally fix in a fraction of the time and money. He then proceeded to only charge me for the gaskets. I smiled and just couldn't stop shaking my head. Like I said, old school... old soul. I gave him extra for his labor and kindness and walked out before he could resist. This is how you affect change; kindness. It put a skip in my step I hadn't realized had vanished... during Covid; protests; economic contraction... and vowed to "pay it forward" all week. read more

I've been hunting around for months to replace a broken shower door bottom pivot piece. If you live in North Highlands, its the builder original shower installation and this part is prone to break over time. The part has also been out of stock for years. One of the neighbors on NextDoor recommended checking with Bruce. I emailed Bruce and he was able to find a 3D CAD plan for the part and 3D print it for me. I'm out of town currently, but he offered to mail it to me. Very friendly guy. read more

Very knowledgeable personnel and great service. I went to another plumbing store that had no idea how to help me and this store had my issue resolved in about 30 seconds. They also have a good inventory of parts along with a machine shop. If you have a plumbing issue I highly recommend this place read more

I bought a metal base table from Ikea. You know what that means....a screw would not fit. Very frustrating for over an hour working to put a screw in a metal leg and it doesn't fit. Instead of driving 1.5 hours back to Ikea I decided to try and find another screw at Bonnets and Stem. Bruce, the owner, rethreaded it. Wow!! and didn't charge me! They have parts from the early 1900's, all kinds of nuts, bolts, screws and if they don't have it they can make it. They have a 3-D printer so they can make anything. What a find and great friendly service. read more

I went in there to get some parts for my sink faucets. I was able to find parts for my 30+ your sink faucets. They are a lifesaver.

As a plumber tools and parts are VERY important to do my job. Bonnets and stems are experts at identifying replacement parts, even if the parts are ancient or very uncommon. If the part needed is not in stock they will locate it and get it shipped in a timely manner. Bonnets and Stems is a real asset to Tucson homeowners and plumbers like me! read more

This is THE place that will solve your plumbing problems. I was repairing an extremely leaky 3 valve shower faucet. After pulling a bad faucet valve and bad diverter valve, the local big box store directed me to Bonnets Stems & Accessories. I was nervous about finding replacement valves because my water was going to be shut off until I did find them. I walked in the door and held up a valve stem to show Bruce (hoping he would give me some reassurance that this could be fixed). He immediately noted the kind of home it had come from and the manufacturer of the faucet, just seeing it in my hand from across the room. At that moment, I knew that I was in the right place and everything was going to be OK. He sold me a new stem for the faucet that was beyond repair, rebuilt my diverter valve, and gave me a few extra tips to ensure the repair was successful. The shower now works great (with no leaks). The repair was pennies on the dollar to what plumbers had quoted for the job. It is ALL thanks to this establishment. I recommend that you save yourself a wasted trip to any other hardware store, and just go straight to Bonnets Stems & Accessories for your plumbing needs. You will get your job done right and save a ton of money. read more

I've been remodeling an old set of apartments and had to tear out old shower walls. All I had left was the old plumbing, in particular single level shower controls, one of which was broken. I took pictures of them and sent them to some of the largest plumbing supply places in Tucson and they came back with a blank. So then I decided to personally visit some of the plumbing suppliers with the parts and pictures in hand. Some could identify the part, but didn't have it. Three of the plumbing supply places suggested I try Bonnets and Stems. So I went there as I wasn't having any luck at the Plumbing Supply places. When I first walked in I wasn't too optimistic as the store was smaller than most of the other places that I had visited. But the owner who was working in the back shortly came out to help me. When I showed him the old part he immediately recognized it and commented boy that's a real old mixer. He went into his back room which I imagine is umpteen times larger than the store front. He shortly came back with the part and told me about all the other parts that go with it, to put it back together as a finished shower control. The price was reasonable and it saved me from having to cut out the old shower control and put in a new one. More customer had come in by the time I left. There now were a number of professional plumber vans in the parking lot. Apparently this is where guys who do plumbing for a living go to find the parts you can't get at Home Depot, Lowe's or the major Plumbing Supply stores. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for plumbing parts that nobody seems to have a clue about. -Pete read more

By far the best experience I've ever had at a retail home improvement store. The two ladies were kind, knowledgeable, fast, and informative. They shared that they have a text line where you can even send photos, ask questions, etc. before making a trip in. Thanks Bonnets! read more

Bruce is incredible. I went in with questions about a very old shower set, and within minutes he said all it needed was one small part, that the old piece could remain, not to open the wall, quick and easy. Unfortunately my plumbers weren't familiar with the old hardware and had already broken through the wall and taken everything out. Bruce said he'll help us proceed however we want to move forward. I was the only one in the store and then others came into the small space. I told Bruce I'd wait outside to maintain social distance, and he came outside into the heat with me to continue our conversation. He even spoke to my plumber on the phone and explained how the old parts work. I told him I will never buy any plumbing hardware anywhere else for the rest of my life. This guy is a plumbing parts and customer service unicorn! read more

My husband and I had to try and replace a old shower valve. The part is almost 20 years old. We came in with parts in hand to see if we could get new replacements. They didn't have the parts we needed but would be getting a new shipment almost a week later. The salesman didn't want us to wait that long to get our water leak fixed so he called around, found the parts we needed at another establishment and put them on hold for us. Thanks to Bonnets and Stems we were able to fix our water leak the same day. read more

Stopped in today for the first time to pick up some cartridges for my mom's bathroom sink faucet. After my husband had called a bunch of plumbing stores, Bonnets, Stems, and Accessories was the only place who had the parts! I drove across town and one of the things I noticed was how the employees handled the customers. They were kind and joking with them, like they'd known them for years! When it came for them to help me, it was the same! Thank you to every employee who helped. May God bless you all and your business! read more

I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce, the owner of this small business today. I was able to observe the way that he does business as well as pick his brain about his business practices. I am impressed! He runs an honest business that aims to educate individuals so that they are equipped to solve their plumbing problems without spending a ton of money. I spent over an hour with Bruce today and I observed a steady flow of traffic roll through his shop and repeatedly heard each person remark about how this was the best place to find obscure parts and get good advice. If you are looking for a spot you can count on to have what you need and give it to you at a fair price, look no further! This is an A+ BBB business and after today, I can see why! read more

This just proves that the locally owned stores in Tucson are so much better than the big box, corporate stores. After spending hours running around town trying to find a replacement piece I needed, someone recommended I come to Bonnets, Stems & Accessories. After showing Bruce what I needed, within a second he knew the brand name and size of what I needed as I did not have any information to give him other than show him the part I needed. I was floored! He showed me really how big the store is and plans for the future. He truly is a master in his trade and I can see why this is a 3rd generation owned family business. I will be coming back here and definitely supporting my local stores. Thanks Bruce!! read more

If you ever have problems finding that illusive part that has brought your plumbing project to a grinding halt this is the place for you. Bruce Nevins is an amazing man and is taking full advantage of technology (3D printing) to recreate those parts that are no longer available and making them better! The store is also unique, clearly representing Bruce's great sense of humor. There aren't many stores like this around anymore so I want to recommend this store for ALL your plumbing needs - let's keep it going! read more

This is THE place to go for plumbing parts and great service. A kind plumber saved us $1000 in recommended repairs (by someone else) by recommending we try replacing the valve stem on our old crane faucet that would not turn off. He said to go to Bonnets and Stems "if they don't have it, no one else will." For $7.00 we were able to replace the faulty valve stem and the mechanical components that allowed the faucet fixture to fit on the stem. Problem solved! Not only does this business have the parts that you need (no matter how old your system!), they do not hesitate to go the extra mile to help you understand the installation. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!!! read more

Way overpriced. Go plumbing supply and get faucet cartridges one third of what they want! Shop around!

A great little place - it's smaller than most "major" plumbing supply stores and, of course, the big box home supply shops - but it's miles better and the folks here have been able to recognize just about anything I send them a picture of right off the bat. I have several rentals properties around town ranging from 1940s through the 80s era and the plumbing in these can be a bit of an adventure. Need a replacement stem? Just take it out, snap a picture, email it to them and I can just about promise you not only will they know what it is on sight, they'll have it for you. I've even been talked out of buying one of those new stems and given a silicon ring for a buck and shown how to replace it instead - you just don't get that kind of service at the big box shops. Even for my properties on the east side I plan my routes to end up at Bonnets and Stems when I need something - it's worth it. read more

Tucson is a town with many stores with lots of parts. Unfortunately, they all have the same limited brands/styles. If you have the most common tract home with the standard parts they put in them you might find what you need at the big box stores or the big plumbing stores. If you own anything else, good luck. I wasted time with Lowes and Home Depot and then tried the big plumbing stores which have "thousands of parts for everything". Nope, no luck. The big plumbing guys couldn't even tell me what brand my old part was with part in hand and tried to sell me a kit with something that "should" work with all kinds of extra parts I did not need. I got clued in to Bonnets and Stems. It's a small place with cluttered parts everywhere reminiscent of an old car parts store from long ago before the chains moved in. They were friendly, knew what brand my part was at a glance and had a suitable substitution on hand. Overhearing conversations with other customers, it was obvious that they know what they're talking about. So next time I need anything plumbing related, I'll be making a beeline there. read more
