When you have 4 kids, you don't go to the movies very often, but we can afford to go more often here at the Bonner Mall Cinema. Yes it is an older theater, but the staff make up for any lack of ambiance. The snacks are delicious and reasonably priced. I mean, it's Sandpoint for crying out loud. I don't expect a top notch theater outside of major metro areas. The seats seem about 3 decades old, have stains and lots of wear and tear. The sound system is pretty terrible in that it was hard to understand dialogue in much of the movie. The distortion and muffled voices were sometimes impossible to decipher. Hard to know if that was the movie or the theater since this was my first time here. The stadium seating in the back is nice. There was almost no one in the theater for opening weekend for Tenet. So, no need to arrive early for any major film it seems. They offer refills on popcorn and drinks if you buy large sizes. Prices were reasonable all around. I'd try this place again hoping the sound issues were just an artifact of the movie. If the sound is still terrible though, I'd probably skip seeing a movie here. read more

Now called Sandpoint Cinemas, it is a much needed respite from the lack of family places in the Sandpoint area. Small to be sure, it does bring in some first run movies for the adults as well as the animation films for the little ones. Just a relaxing place to go with the whole family for icy cold soda and drippy buttery popcorn. read more

The reason I love the cinema is that it's small, never busy, and so you never have to wait in line. I can almost always walk up and buy my ticket then go to the other side by food and go straight into the movie. They play a lot of previews, so you can arrive about 15 minutes in and still not be late for the movie. It's always been clean and tidy in the bathrooms and in the theater. It's not one of those theaters that you go in freezing in. It's a nice temperature. The seats recline back and are comfortable. Every movie I've seen here there have only been maybe six other people in the theater at a time. read more

I really want to like this theater. I really do. It's rarely crowded and the staff is friendly. And it's the only theater this side of Coeur D'Alene. But for $10 per 2D movie: The place is filthy The seats are trashed and badly in need of repair The ventilation system rattles so much you can't hear quiet dialog The owner gets content through some broker, so you cannot find out what's playing next until the Friday it starts actually playing Soundproofing is so bad the soundtracks from adjacent theaters bleed over into your movie They've decided to leave the overhead lights on (dim, but bright enough to be distracting) "in the interest of safety" We'll be heading to Coeur D'Alene from now on. read more

Staff friendly, popcorn standard, but the air conditioner must have a setting of low. We were sweating waiting for the movie to start. Had to let the staff know it was hot in the theater. 90 degrees outside and trying to beat the heat by going to the movies. Thankfully the staff corrected the temp. read more

My biggest concern about this theater is that the seats are dated, horrible and too close together. Even a light person gets the reclining of a lifetime! The screens are a decent size and they now offer most modern types of sound and video including 3D. Very friendly staff and decent restrooms. Expensive snacks...because it is a theater. They do have A/C as well. When I am up for it, or a good movie is out, I drive the hour down to the Riverstone Regal Cinema in nearby Coeur d'Alene. read more

The Bonner Mall Cinema has really stepped it up in the past couple of years. All the 6 movie screens have stadium seating in the back third of each movie theater. New seats, great movie prices nothing over 9 dollars and the early shows are 7 dollars. Popcorn for a large refill I believe is 5.50. All in all every screen has 4k HD if movie is in 4K. So if you want to save a lot of money instead of going all the way to Couer D alene,Id to Riverstone go to the Bonner Mall Cinema!!! you will be glad you did!!!! read more

Bonner Mall Cinemas is in desperate need of some TLC, it's almost as the owners do not take any pride in this business or the work they do, the place is totally neglected. Floor tiles missing from the lobby floors, holes in baseboards, filthy ceiling tiles, dirty lobby floors, the list goes on and on. The place continues to deteriorate day by day with no upkeep. Based on the condition of the place I'm shocked by the price of $11 for a single ticket. Unfortunately there is not another theatre in town. read more

Support your local theatre! It's not grand but it's LOCAL. Support local jobs. You don't have to stand in a long line in the blazing sun or snow to purchase tickets (like you do at Riverstone CA) -- you enter from the enclosed mall. Staff is friendly local kids (they found and saved my lost sunglasses, nice!.) No frills but good popcorn, plenty of adjacent parking and convenience of LOCAL! read more

So upset with this Cinema, they keep the lights on during the films. Most annoying and the Manager very rude. This is our local cinema and now I will not return until the policy is changed and hopefully the Manager. read more

We were not expecting much but that place is trash. Movie screen is small, filthy seats and popcorn EVERYWHERE. We had to literally pick out the seats without stains on them. Staff there clearly hates that place as much as we did. We could hear the movie playing next door better than the one we came to watch. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! called to find out what was playing.(2 HOURS BEFORE SHOW)..showed up to watch amazing spider-man-2 in 3D...so we paid and then I asked for glasses. The girl behind the counter said it was in 3D LAST week. we were like we wanted to see a 3D movie. X-men was showing in 3D so we asked to change movies, she said yes but would charge me another $4.00 to see that one. I asked why am i paying extra since ALL YOUR ADVERTISEMENTS are wrong. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT ... she said " i just work here, I don't make the rules!" This theater doesn't keep their advertisements current then blames the customer!!! read more

This establishment would likely run more efficiently if it were managed by a group of baboons. The seats are old and need to be replaced as they smell of must and mildew. They never have any midnight showings of any movies that have just been released. Even a lot of movies that have been released they choose not to show until weeks after they have already been out. The popcorn is stale, too salty, and always is drenched in butter. If you eat even a handful it increases your chance of a heart attack 4 times. It's a very small theater only 6 theaters inside and most of them aren't full sized. If you wish to see a movie with your friends at this theater you may want to consider taking a loan from the bank because the prices are monstrously high. So if you don't mind the possibility of who knows how many diseases, not being able to see the movie you want because they aren't showing it, Myocardial infarction, small enclosed theaters, and bankruptcy then this is the perfect theater for you!
