This was my first time at this lovely theater and I found it charming! The prices were very reasonable, for both the movies and amenities. The bathrooms were plenty spacious and clean. Unless they're not playing a new movie I'm trying to see, this will be my new go-to theater. The sound is excellent. The theaters themselves are on the smaller side, but I liked that about them; makes it a more intimate experience. I love the old-school light sconces they have in them too (nice touch!). My kiddos loved it too and I felt it was easier for them to stay still. Definitely will be back! read more

I love this place! The prices are amazing and let's be honest, even if you are rolling in money like Scrooge McDuck, no one likes to spend $45+ to take their children to the movies. This is one of my favorite rainy day places and in North Idaho, which is basically every day. Stay warm and enjoy a great movie with your family, or even just yourself in a super clean theater. I have been to this discount theater many times. I enjoyed going for many years until I noticed several times how cruel the owner is with his young employees. I started paying attention and noticed that the owner only hires young teenagers, I believe because adults will not accept how he treats people. I recommend to all parents of teenagers and young teenagers to think twice before allowing your kids to work at this establishment or work for this person. Also, the theater is quite dirty and poorly run, if you want to hear other movies the whole time you are watching your movie and save a few dollars then this is the place. If you want a quality and clean experience for a few dollars more go to the theater in Coeur d'Alene. read more

Went to the Hayden Cinema to see a movie. The owner said I could not open carry in the theater. That's your call your business, and I was leaving, but then to say " Open carry is like waving a Nazi flag around town", was to much. Then to also yell to the people in the lobby, " say goodbye to the guy with the gun", again, was to much. read more

Disappointing Experience at the Ticket Counter My family and I went to the movies tonight, excited to see Inside Out 2. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the incredibly rude behavior of the employee, Bradley at the ticket counter. When we tried to purchase tickets for the 8:40 show, he curtly informed us that it was sold out and pointed to a sign on the door and walked off. When I asked about the availability of the 9:00 show, he dismissively told us to "go read the sign" and walked off. I checked the sign, and it didn't mention anything about the 9:00 show being sold out. Frustrated, I took the sign to him, and only then did he reluctantly sell us tickets, all the while complaining about how long his shift is today and lack of help and mentioned I should complain to the owner so he can get more help excusing his rude behavior which was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Working late or being short-staffed is no excuse to treat customers poorly or turn them away without proper information. This experience was incredibly disappointing, and it left a sour taste for our family outing. We hope management addresses this issue to ensure a better experience for future guests. read more

Pretty good value at $6 for matinees and $8 for evening tickets. Theater is newer and more updated than what you'd expect for a discount cinema. Some of the screens are relatively small. Dolby surround sound was working great. read more

FUNtastic prices on tickets and concessions! The popcorn with a little added butter is delicious. The only uncertainty is the seats are all level, not teared. But no one is in front of us so we are golden. First time we have been in the white ticket theater. It is teared for better viewing, oh yeah! Had to up the rating to 5 stars. read more

Local Cinema putting together family friendly fun at a reasonable price. This is not your big money IMAX theater by any means, and they don't advertise it as that so not sure why you would expect it, but it is a classic theater. They don't have the newest movies out but they definitely have the cheapest. What it has going for it: - price of movies ($3) - stadium seating - food prices are a little cheaper than full price theaters - plenty of parking What it has going against it: - not as a ascetically pleasing as say Riverstone Regal - not as many food choices So if you don't mind waiting a month or 2 after a movie comes out, this is the only place to go in the CDA area where you can get to see movies really cheap. read more

Prices have increased but many improvements have been made. New seats, 3-D screens and remodeled bathrooms for starters. I really wanted to like this theater because it is so close and seems very cute and the prices were acceptable compared to other theaters. But I have to say I was greatly disappointed. Unfortunately I would rather pay more to go to somewhere that is clean and sanitary. We ordered food from the concessions the only thing that was edible was the pretzel. We got a drink for my daughter just a simple sprite, and the first drink that she took she said that it tasted like funny . We had all the adults with us try it and it was clear that the machine was not clean you could taste mold in the drink and we had to toss it. Additionally the air quality is poor at best , The place smells like dirty socks . The bathroom was out of toilet paper hand towels and it was disgusting overall. I believe that they need to update their standard of cleanliness and Air quality. And anywhere that there is obvious water damage should be addressed appropriately not painted over. Also their AC unit probably needs a new filter and the vents need to be cleaned. I will not sit for an hour watching something that is supposed to be enjoyable while breathing Air you can smell. read more

We went here for the first time. We were SO impressed! Very clean, neat, and inexpensive! We are new to the area and have been to the Regal a couple times. The seats at Regal are way to shallow, so much so that I get pain in my legs. I like this theater WAY BETTER!! We also chatted with the owner. We love his business philosophy. He cares about the community and the fact that some people just can not afford the other cinemas. We will be going here often! And we plan to buy the inexpensive snacks to help support the business. 2 people, 1 medium popcorn -$9.50!! read more

I see a lot of movies at this theater. You cannot be the price. I'm especially impressed with them today though. We went to see the new Bob's Burger movie, but they had to cancel that particular showing. They needed to make room for Top Gun because so many people wanted to see it. Rather than just turn us away and have us go to their showing, they gave us free tickets for the next available time slot. Very impressed with their customer service! If you haven't been out to this theatre then go. $2 a person, the snacks are very reasonably priced and the theaters are good enough. Is it comfortable with big reclining chairs and comfy spacious seats? No. But it economical and I can actually take my whole family to a movie and get drinks and popcorn for $40 (family of eight!!!!). Plus they are family owned so you are supporting money that stays in the community rather then a big chain. read more

Love going to HDC. They remodeled their auditoriums and now have stadium seating. Their food/drink prices are reasonable (love their popcorn and self-serve butter). They have an ATM available for a small charge and only accept cash at the counter. They accept Movie Pass now too, if you have it! Very affordable way to see movies on the big screen! read more

I was happy to see this place was close to my house and the price. But the old saying you get what you pay for applies here. We went at 9:30 pm for a movie and it was all rowdy kids running around and being loud. When we got in our theater kids were running around and throwing food everywhere they were also loud and taking during the movie. The sound quality sucked and you could hear the acoustics of the movie going on next door. I don't go to the movies often but if I do I won't ever come back here I will spring the extra money to Regal in riverstone and go there. Where it's nothing like what I experienced here. read more

Pros: $3 to see a movie, concessions cheaper, you can see movies that were somewhat recently in big theaters. Cons: Small theaters, not very clean a lot of the time, you can hear water drains and other theaters clearly while watching your movie, management sucks. I came to see "Why Him?". After sitting through previews, I realised they were playing "Dr. Strange"- a movie I'd just seen weeks or so prior. Whoever was running it didn't realize it, so I went to the manager up front (a blonde lady in her 40's?). She said she'd take care of it. 15, 20 minutes of sitting in dull lighting later she comes in and says they can't figure it out and the guy who runs the place is out of town for the weekend. We can get a refund for our ticket in cash or free movie pass form. No compensation for whatever you bought at concessions offered. So we all wasted time and money. That was lame. read more
