We bought last minute tickets to a show here while visiting Sandpoint. What a great theatre! I'm a sucker for historical buildings that still have their original charm (retro old light fixtures & an ornate wall fountain in the lobby) and she's on the national historic register. Upper balcony has velvety loveseat chairs made for two, so romantic. We only had popcorn for a treat and some drinks from the Ladies Lounge. Volunteer staff working the event were all extremely friendly and rightly proud of their theatre. Looks like there is a wide variety of performances, speakers, and artists booked here. Glad we made the last minutes decision to partake! read more

I watched the nutcracker put on by Allegro What an Awesome thing to do with my kids :) It was theater at its best . Clean show good atmosphere. The theater was also clean and organized The theater temp was good . Had snacks water ect available The play was well choreographed. The costumes We're unbelievably nice . The staff and dancers We're all very professional courteous and friendly to my 4 year old who saw them as magical dancing wonders. I'm grateful for my experience I recommend catching a show here especially If it's put on by allegro . read more

Terrific venue; a gem in the gem state! Outstanding acoustics and home to some of the best events in Sandpoint. Friendly volunteers and staff. As the management is dedicated to improving the venue, you can expect this place to get better and better. Minus one star for infrastructure. It could use more water fountains, a credit card terminal at the booth and larger bathrooms with a not-so-public entrance. read more

I watched the first run of 'Star Wars' here and Steve Martin in 'The Jerk.' I'm sure many more classics I can't even remember. I did lots of other things in the bathrooms and the old apartment upstairs while galavanting about with the people who lived there at the time. That was seriously the coolest place I had ever seen in my whole life when I was in my teens. A round bed, zebra striped floors, a window out to open towards the screen, murals of Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn and James Dean I think...Actually, it still ranks up there as one of the coolest places ever. Apartment aside (I believe it's long gone now) the theater is a grand old one, with plenty of history to share with you and the fact it's still in such great shape shows the love the town has for it. While visiting Sandpoint, I decided to check out the new Woody Allen film. I mostly wanted to go because of the theatre. I am so glad I did. The movie was great and the theatre was awesome. Felt like I stepped back into time. It was more like an event than a movie. People even clapped after the movie- when does that happen! If you get an opportunity to check out the Panida Theatre do not pass it by- go, go, go. read more

How can you not love the panida? I've performed here a few times and loved it. Great stage, beautiful theater, a staple in Sandpoint!

I've been living in Sandpoint for a relatively short time, but the Panida has become a favorite spot of mine. Whether it's live music, screenings of cinema classics, or plays by the community theater troupe, everything is done excellently. The staff is always friendly, the facility is always clean, and as far as I've heard, everyone has a good time. A few words of warning though: bathrooms are very, VERY limited, and the lines are always long. And if you're thinking of bringing small children...don't. The house is almost always packed, and no one likes screaming kids in a crowded theater. If you're a resident and haven't been here at least once (hard to believe) or you're passing through town, make sure you check out the Panida. There's few other places where the location is as entertaining as the show. read more

Wonderful restoration of an old theater. Great management brings in a variety of films and acts. A MUST DO if you are going to be in Sandpoint area. Lots of nice restaurants nearby, all of this a short walk from the Best Western Hotel on the beach. read more

This is a beautifully restored venue that creates an old time atmosphere for movies and live performances. We saw Chef there and everyone really enjoyed the movie. They have beer and wine which is cool. The only hitch in the operation was the concession which had a limited selection and had trouble keeping up with the popcorn demand. Sorry Panida...You get this 1 star because you can't seem to handle ticket sales ... I'm standing at the door at intermission and the gal can't sell me a ticket (because she doesn't know how). So she makes me wait at the door while others without tickets stream past ... So I'm trying to pay they just walk in and I'm the one that can't go in !? I gave up and went home. read more
