Bill was very polite, called me over the weekend to set up the time and said he'd go to the jobsite to get his guys started and then come and meet with me. He just sent me a text message (not even dignified enough to call) at 8:30pm the night before saying "We are currently too busy to take on any new jobs until September. Call me early summer." Bill is what gives contractors a bad name. Sure he might do good work, but he does not respect people's time and schedules. A simple, "Sorry, would love to help you, but we are booked through September" would have done fine at the first call. Terrible customer service and I imagine this speaks to how you might be treated as a client if he did manage to get in your door.

After talking on the phone, the owner came, looked at the house and immediately told me the price of the renovation. I thought it was a joke, but later I saw that people are very well organized and do their work in detail. We first renovated the basement and then the first floor of the house. I was not home for three weeks, when I came the work was almost finished, I was delighted with their work. The job was completed after 4 weeks as we agreed and a really warm recommendation from me for TCS Chicago.

We worked closely with many All Quality employees and contractors including the company owner, manager, designer and the craftspeople who did the actual work. Our project took months and, as a result, the All Quality team almost became like family. The men working in our home were always kind, helpful and hard working. Martin and his crew were consummate professionals, and took great pains to be sure we were happy with the result. They did a wonderful job and we couldn't be happier with our kitchen and basement. Dave, the project manager, walked us through every step of the process and maintained an open line of communication. Overall, All Quality was terrific to work with and provided us with exactly what we were hoping for in a renovation.

Back in May, my neighbor generously gave us her old above-ground pool. I posted on yelp that we…read morewere looking for someone to help move and install it. MRJ responded, claiming they had the experience to do the job. Unfortunately, hiring them turned out to be a mistake. Despite his claims, it's now clear that he did not know how to properly install a pool. The liner was left with large wrinkles, and nearly every gasket was left loose causing continuous leaking. I had asked for the pool to be dug into the ground slightly, but the base was left noticeably uneven. We are first time pools owners so we didn't know that liners are actually supposed to be installed during warmer weather and obviously they didn't either cause they went ahead and tried doing the job despite it not being warm. He did return once to "fix" one of the leaks, but the problem persisted. I notified him right away that the leak was still there, and while he said he'd come back, he never did. At that point, I didn't even bother to follow up. This job was completed while my wife and I were at the hospital expecting our baby, so we weren't able to supervise or catch all the issues until it was too late. He also didn't bring the proper tools and ended up borrowing some of mine just to get the job done. Ultimately, we were left very unhappy with the results and had to hire someone else to correct the mistakes. The new installer informed us that the pool had previously been cut and resized, something MRJ never noticed or mentioned. This now confirms to us that he likely had little experience with pool installations. Had we known about the pool being cut, we would've just purchased a new one from the start and avoided the additional expenses we're now stuck with. In the end, we're essentially starting from scratch again. While they were courteous in person and hardworking (moving the pool, and digging a whole with only a shovel) the job was poorly done, and we were misled about their expertise. I would not recommend Mr. Repairman Jr Remodeling and Construction for any pool-related work.

I typically don't write reviews but this man is pretty much a scammer. He was pretty pleasant through contract signing for completing a basement with laundry room, bedroom, bathroom, family room & kitchenette. We were told the process would take 4 months. It took 8 with many days of him and his crew just not showing up. If you questioned him on anything he did, he would just not show for a while. He literally cut a 2 x5' hole in my upstairs family room hard wood without discussing it with me ahead of time to make headroom for the stairs. We are now a few years down the road from his work and paying over $10K to have the leaking shower totally torn out and redone. The new contractor discovered all the short cuts Nelson took from not overlapping the membrane, screwing holes through the membrane, not using treated wood, not even gluing in the quartz window ledge. AND he didn't even put a pea trap in our shower drain which was not even centered. Disappointed in Elmwood inspectors not catching that one. We also discovered after the fact that he installed PVC for our dryer vent (which is not code). ABT will not hook up a new dryer until we get that replaced which will involve ripping out another wall. Our ventilation in the basement was not done properly either and have paid over $1,000 to try to remedy that but haven't been able to fully resolve the issues. These are just a couple of the major things but there is definitely more. We would have been happy to pay more to NOT deal with all of the headaches Nelson caused. Save yourself the hassle and find another contractor.

I truly feel blessed to have found Jesse and I Am Construction! I contacted numerous contractors…read morewhen seeking an estimate and Jesse was the only one that responded immediately and made me feel as if my project was a priority. He remained responsive and reliable throughout the entire process. He and his team worked around the clock to complete major renovations in time for our move-in date. They painted the entire interior (including removing a lot of wallpaper), removed carpeting and completely re-did the wood floors, renovated two full bathrooms, installed numerous fixtures and replaced appliances. Throughout the renovations the entire crew worked non-stop and were entirely professional and friendly. When issues came up--as they tend to do with renovating an older home--Jesse always provided more than one option with an eye toward saving us money. Their work was top notch and as the daughter of a contractor I am very hard to please so their praise is well-earned. But more than quality work, I truly appreciate their professionalism and integrity. We had an unexpected issue come up the night before our family vacation a couple of weeks ago and I simply called Jesse, handed him the keys and he took care of it. I came back from vacation to a completed project.

I wish I would…read morehave listened but I was recommend Dave by Tony the owner of premium cabinets that said dave is also a contractor. I gave dave 4 thousand dollars to paint an empty 800 square foot condo with no furniture and he didn't finish painting kitchen or hallways or closet shelves. It was an easy job. But it was a nightmare. I have a list a mile long. The straw that broke the camels back was him doing something simple like putting a rod in my closet to hang my cloths. Well I put my last piece of clothing on rod and the whole closet rods and brackets came out of wall on top of me. He came back after his vacation 1 week later and fixed it then he measured wrong and I couldn't open the drawers from dresser inside of closet that he knew I had to open the drawers. So that being said I couldn't trust Dave installing my cabinets for premier. He can't even hang a closet rod let alone cabinets. Hit or miss kinda a guy. Live and learn. Reviews are for a reason. Next time I will listen. That was a lot of money for me Beware.

Our cabinet company salesman put us in contact with Dave Pike, and we will be forever grateful he did! From our initial meeting to go over the project, our vision and expectations, and timeline, Dave's professional approach, support and suggestions told us straightaway that we could trust him and his work. Not only did he finish our project in time and on budget, we are so pleased with the high quality of work and his follow through to complete a few minor lingering issues. We appreciated his level of communication and follow through whenever we had questions. This is by no means our only renovation and we thus know how difficult it is to find a contractor who does what he says he will do, with expertise and consummate professionalism, and by someone you can trust to complete the project to your specifications. Dave Pike did that precisely, so we highly recommend his services. Our building manager was so impressed, he asked us for Dave's contact information so he can forward it to others in our building! He's a gem!
