This place is on a side street right across from the train stop. I saw the Yelp reviews and wanted to try it, especially since I've been eating heavy meals lately and this was a fresh lighter option. I got a made to order poke bowl with tuna. It was delicious and I was already satisfied. But the açaí bowls looked good too so i decided to try a power up bowl. It was also delicious. Why yes, I do feel Bonita! Located in the heart of park ridge, with tons of cute shops nearby. We were able to find street parking fairly quickly as we visited during off times, but I'm sure with the train and the schools and businesses near by the must get super busy during prime times. I've been here at least 3 times in the last few weeks and it always hits the spot. My first time I went I decided to enjoy one of their precrafted pitaya bowls, it was delicious but I wanted a little more sweetness. So this time I went back I built my own bowl and it was just too pretty to eat, and once I started I couldn't stop. And when it was gone, I wanted more. I opted to get the small because I wasn't starving but boy was I sad I didn't get the regular size. I guess that means I just have to come back again! Haha. I've also tried their acai smoothie and that is more filling than you think. All of their ingredients are super fresh and it makes you want more. I know I was there for a Yelp event, but wanted to expand on my experience since my mom came and we ordered more. I was a little worried about coming here, but was pleasantly surprised. Solid dishes really. I got the Cloud Nine which was quite excellent. If you're looking for something sweet and fresh, this is the one for you. It's coconut, banana, strawberry, and Nutella. Yum! My mom got the make your own Poke Bowl. It was good, but it was on the warmer side and the meat and sauces were a little bare. It still tasted good, but we were hoping for something a little more bold. Probably the two downsides are the wait time and price. It takes them awhile to make the food which is odd since most of it is cold. As for the price, the poke bowl was a bit overpriced for what we got. My sister and I ordered one regular (large) bowl and one small bowl. Our total came out to $28, which reflects being charged for a regular and a small. However, when we received our order, we were given two small bowls instead of one large and one small. It was confusing because our friend's order was also involved, and everything was handed to us together in the same bag. I have come here multiple times and at first I loved it. The last few times the service is horrible. I had my bowl completely messed up and I stood and waited at the counter for 10 minutes to address getting it fixed. Not once did the worker come and help me. I had even said excuse me over 10 times and was completely ignored. After waiting over 10 minutes i finally just left. My most recent time purchasing my bowls I did it for delivery. Both bowls I had ordered were completely wrong. I had ordered a BYOB with pineapple strawberries and bananas. I also had chose lite granola and extra granola. My bowl did not have any pineapple, no nutella and was filled with granola. My second bowl I ordered was the Power Up Bowl with extra nutella added. They instead gave me mango base and did not add any nutella. I will for sure not be going back. Good menu selection, grabbed an acai bowl with tropical fruit, PB, etc. Excellent portions so great value. Fresh fruit, chopped big enough for flavor, small enough for easy bites.
