    Ugh
    Jay R.

Service was extremely slow for not a crowded night. 2 hours to get us through. 30+ minutes to order drinks and then finally order food. My steak and potatoes were good. California veggies, awful. Brisket tacos dry. Wife's trout dinner, cloyingly sweet aioli sauce? ...that was just weird. A beautiful space, but a restaurant that is trying to be something that it can't be and/or shouldn't be... as previous reviews stated, slow service and mediocrity for a high price tag. What set me off.... Hidden charges. Kid cup lemonades = $4 each. $5 dollar up charge for my dirty martini that wasn't dirty... NYC pricing... ($16) and a 4% charge for the bill if using a credit card... This place is going to sink like the restaurant on the Titanic during COVID....

    24% card service fee?!!

Good food. They were busy so service was a bit slow. But beware the overcharge for using a credit card. The bottom of the receipt shows they charge 4% to use a card, but they actually charged 24%. Plenty of other good locations to select around here, we won't return to this establishment.

I'm not sure why the reviews for this place are so low. The service and food I had were great. I went with a party of 4, and our server was prompt and checked on us frequently. I had the lobster mac and cheese. I usually never order that because lobster is hit or miss, but I was craving some cheesy goodness. The lobster was delicious, and the mac was definently cheesy enough. Everyone else also enjoyed their meals. I also tried the coconut mojito and loved it. This will definently become my new date night spot.

Finished the lake trout. Nice and flaky

Great place in a 1 horse town. Food was excellent . Waiter very attentive. Had live music that set a nice atmosphere

    Watermelon margarita

Great food, great service, and great ambiance. Would absolutely eat here again. Ravioli and watermelon margarita were both very yummy

    The specials tonight look great

The location is great and Houghton has room for more interesting dining. There is a live band here tonight. The menu has a wide variety and good choices. Take a look around and pick a spot in this historic firehouse.

Here is the handicap parking sign and the sign stating no parking on the sidewalk area to the right.

My wife and I have been to Bonfire twice this month, including this afternoon for their Monther's Day Buffet event. Both times the only handicap parking spot on the property has had a dumpster placed in it. There is space to the right of the dumpster but that encroaches onto the sidewalk and there is a No Parking violators will be towed sign. When we were there on 5/2 we mentioned this issue to the bartender. Since it was still an issue, today we asked to talk to the manager at the end of our meal. The manager told us that was the only place the dumpster could be placed and that we should have just parked on the sidewalk. My wife explained that there are No Parking and Tow Away signs but his comment was not to worry about those. My wife then asked why they didn't create a new handicap spot if that was the only place the dumpster could go to which the manager replied "all the locals know to just park on the sidewalk". Someone else in our group had a few comments for the manager regarding the temperature of the food and the 24% included gratuity. The manager stated that 20% of that was gratuitity and that 4% was credit card processing fees. I have no issues with included gratutity for a large party, especially on a special event day like Monther's day. However, there is no notation anywhere that the 4% is for credit card processing fees. The 4% is also added BEFORE they know if you are paying with a credit card or cash. Do they redo the bill and remove this fee if you pay with cash? What if someone just wants to leave exact change? A 20% standard gratuity is also high for a buffet meal. After these discussions the manager became extremely unprofessional and aggressive towards us. He began shouting that he's working here on Mother's Day and not spending time with his mother so we could have a good meal. He repeated this statement, very loudly, multiple times.

    Salad

Filet was awesome salad fresh great dressing corn was phenomenal filet in butter was delicious lots of flavor

Lovely canal and portage bridge views during the day turned to a soft and warm ambiance after sunset. Dinner date night setting with hand crafted cocktails was romantic in a historic brick firehall with a live music setting. The cuisine was creative and excited the taste buds. On service staff was a refreshing energy as they delivered with an exceptional performance. I'd highly recommend!

    Christmas in a glass!

We liked the decor, it was mine themed and had a lot of different artifacts and things having to do with mining. That's about where it ended. Our server was okay, she seemed friendly but wasn't very helpful with choosing what to order and very rarely came back to the table to check on us. The food took a long time to come out, and when it did it was mediocre at best. My husband liked the whitefish and sweet Potato fries, but said he has had better up there. My daughter barely ate her chicken and that is rare for her. I tried it and the breading was very crunchy and not flavorful. The steak is where things really fell flat. It is a petite filet mignon. So it wasn't cheap, but it had ZERO seasoning on it and was EXTREMELY undercooked. I asked for medium rare (described by their menu as warm pink center). I typically like more a of a medium but restaurants typically overcook steak so I went a little less. Now this steak was barely seared on the outside and was cool and purple inside. That was a RARE steak. We joked that it was still mooing. I was waiting for the server to come back so o could have them throw it back on for a bit but she never even made eye contact with our table. No refills on drinks or anything. When she finally returned I had eaten all my veggies and potato so I was full and asked for a box. I cooked the steak at home for a few minutes and had to add a decent amount of seasoning. I don't think we will be returning to Quincy's again.

We were seated right away and our server got us beverages and took our order in a timely manner. I ordered sauteed shrimp, but couldn't have the suggested sides, due to dietary restrictions. They were happy to let me have a salad and soup for sides instead. The French onion soup was cheesy and delicious. The salad was a standard house salad. There were eight large shrimp with melted butter, plus a few mixed veggies on the plate. I left satisfied. There was plenty of parking and the restaurant had a mix of tables and booths.

It's been kind of rough finding a place to enjoy food that is fresh and not overpriced. I avoided this restaurant because I don't go out to eat Italian food being Italian. I'm super picky and I make enough Italian food at home that I like to go out and eat things that I don't normally make myself. But a friend of mine wanted to go there so we did and I'm so glad! I walked in and saw the black tablecloths and thought well it's probably gonna be overpriced and like most Italian restaurants I'm not gonna like the food but I will enjoy the company. The menu is filled with so many non-Italian options. Watching the food come out of the kitchen and go to different tables. It was hard because everything looked so good and presented so well. I hadn't had fish tacos in about a year other than the ones I've made at home and mine are not the greatest! Haven't figured out the sauce yet anyway these were unlike anything I've ever tried before, but definitely delicious. I ordered french fries because it came with chips which I thought was kind of weird. It still is kind of an odd option to go with fish tacos, but my girlfriend across the table for me got these homemade chips so much that she had to take them home and they're delicious! French fries were fine. They weren't anything over the top special but they were good dipped in their homemade blue cheese! So good! After everybody got there first entrée, I was so hungry and watching her eat her side salad I ordered one. It's not huge, but it's fresh and it's four dollars! Seriously I couldn't believe how good it was. I love blue cheese and when she told me it was homemade I was skeptical. Definitely delicious. All three of us really enjoyed our food. Our waitress was real attentive. The restaurant was not overly full, but it was busy. The inside is clean and beautiful. I found another gem! There's not many of them here, but this is definitely one of them! Looking forward to my next date night I'm gonna get my hubby to try it. He's gonna love this place.

Spaghetti was good, the ravioli was very tasty, a light flavor of nutmeg in the meat was a pleasant surprise. The roll had a flaky crust, and fresh and soft inside. My husband ordered the Korean Barbecue sandwich and loved it. The bread impressed him, and he's not a bread guy. Our second visit I ordered the Cudighi sausage sandwich, and again enjoyed the seasonings and bread. I ordered sweet potato fries, they were crisp and tasty. My husband ordered Philly cheese steak sandwich with waffle fries. The sandwich was decent. The waffle fries were crispy, but could have used more seasoning. If you're hungry, this is a good place to eat!
