This was a lovely dinner. My boyfriend and I came with another couple. We were greeted and seated very kindly. The atmosphere is chill and sophisticated at the same time. We got a pizza for the table, and it was fantastic. The crust was actually really good, and I was a huge fan of the sauce. We got meatballs and carrot hummus, also. I got Brussel sprouts as my meal. Totally wonderful! The drinks from the bar were the only downfall. They were very poorly made and far overpriced, because they were watered down or mostly ice. Delicious! Delicious! From the drinks to the appetizers and the entrees. None of us at the table were disappointed. The only problem was they ran out of pizzas before I could order. I had heard great things about their oven baked pizzas but this just gave me a good excuse to try something else. I ended up ordering the Bree potato chorizo bisque with smoked Gouda. Although we have been there once before and had a Wonderfull meal which is why I decided to take a friend who was in town from the Greenway, this time was a bad experience. it was early afternoon so decided to try their "Charcuterie Board". Although extremely pricey ( between $25 and $35 in Napa and Temecula California) we still ordered it. VERY DISSAPOINTING!For $50 the menu said it would have a VARIETY OF JAMS AND FRESH FRUIT? NO JAM and NO fresh fruit? We got 5 tiny Crostinis for 2 people? We asked for baguette bread and what they brought was 5 pieces of sliced white bread and on top of that took the 5 Crostinis back?? LOL really? $50? Then, the VARIETY of cheese consisted of 2 small slices of brie ( pictures included to show size) and 2 types of cheddar which were not even whole cubes but all broken and crumbled? The waitress was super lovely and got the manager/owner/son who came out and made matters worse by being defensive/rude? his explanation for no jams or fruit is that if he doesn't have the "BEST" ingredients on that day he just doesn't put anything on?? $50?? no explanation on the ration of bread and as far as the crumbled pieces of Cheddar he said he puts exactly "1 ounce" of cheese and that's what we got. He reluctantly went and got us 2 slices of "QUINCE" jelly which he assumed we would not know what it was and simply said he would speak to his cook about the presentation? Its sad because the waitresses are awesome and the food we had last time was great but the sons's attitude is not that of an owner or manager. My suggestion if you order it is ask first if they have ALL that shows on the menu, Don't get the $50 one get the $30 one because the cheeses are not worth $20. Headed out to Bonfire to meet friends for dinner before a concert at Main Street Crossing on 1/29/21. Arrived at 6:30pm as This is our first experience at this establishment and we needed to be at the concert at 8pm. Drinks were good and enjoyed the unique specials they serve. We ordered meatballs as an appetizer and they were a delightful surprise. Unfortunately it all stopped there. We ordered a pork chop, steak and 2 salads. 40 minutes later the pork chop arrived by itself. We sat for over 20 minutes waiting on the rest of our order. My steak arrived, I ordered medium and it was so raw I just could not eat it and sent it back, Mind you the 2 salads have yet to arrive. We told the waiter we had been waiting over an hour and we needed to get to our next venue. The pork chop was so tough my friend took one bite and left the rest. The salads never arrived and my steak came out as we were getting up to leave as we had run out of time. they offered to box up my $42.00 steak but said they would have to charge us anyway, The salads never arrived. We asked to speak with a manger and was told there was not one on duty, we ask for a business card and no one could produce one, we asked for an email and that was never produced either. So basically we spent $204.00 on a couple drinks and appetizer. I understand everyone has an off night but the apparent lack of leadership on duty and the absence to contact anyone except the listed phone number is a good sign of their commitment to customer service. read more

Me and my husband came here on a Wednesday night so it wasn't crowded. This is our second time coming here and the first was over 2yrs ago. We love that their menu changes depending on what's in season. We were excited to try some new things. So originally we were going to get a few things to share as our meal but two of the things we wanted were sold out/or not available. So we opted on our own meals. We started off with the Fried Avocado appetizer, it wasn't what I thought. I felt it really didn't have much Avocado in it and it came out almost cold. My husband ordered the popular, brisket Ravioli. It was very tasty but the sauce seemed a little thick and you could see pools of oil in the bowl, but it didn't stop my husband from eating it all. I got a Pizza called the Fancy Pig. It was wood fired, which I love but it was also kinda cold. We both had two cocktails and they were awesome! I gave three stars because this is a restaurant that is very much made to order to so I really expected our meals to be hot. And I was disappointed that there wasn't much of a variety of seasonal things. They have a chalk board that has what the special of the day is and it was the same item you could find on the menu. For our entrees, she chose the green chile chicken & bacon flatbread while I went with the house burger. She seemed to really enjoy her flatbread. I also was very pleased with the burger. This place was arguably the best restaurant in Tomball, with a fabulous and creative menu and excellent cocktails. We would often go here for date night. Even took our grown children for dinners with their spouses because we trusted the restaurant and staff. We recently went here on a Thursday evening and noticed the staff had changed, including the Chef, Bartender and wait staff. Well the cocktails went from fabulous to mediocre because the new bartender had no idea what he was doing. The appetizer was an Avocado pancake and it was very middle of the road. We waited almost an hour for our second drink, which they got wrong. Then adjacent tables started leaving because they were tired of waiting for food orders. We waited 2 hours and our single order of 4 lamb chops were still not ready. We cancel the entree and paid for our drinks and starter and left. We counted four other tables that left also because of the poor service. For the amount of money you pay for the food at this place, I recommend you wait until they get their service issues rectified, bartender replaced with a competent mixologist and re-hire their original chef to bring the food quality back up to where it once was at the beginning. read more

I was sadly disappointed in Bonfire Grill. We went on a double date, and when you go a couple who has kids their weekend double dates are very few and far between. Meaning you really talk through where you are going to eat, and research. We had heard great things about Bonfire and were all very excited. The guys ordered the Bonfire drink. Smoked whiskey, cool concept, Fieldings Kitchen does this as well and executes it much better in our opinion. I ordered a Manhattan and felt they were a bit stingy on the portion size. Usually a martini glass is closer to full than not. We ordered the capris salad to split as the appetizer, it was very good. One of the best I've ever had. For our main course we ordered the ribeye and crab cakes to split. We also added crab on top of the ribeye. We were really anticipating this entree. It came out, it was beautiful and RAW. We ordered medium rare so we like a deep reddish pink center but this was raw. The meat wasn't even warm. There was zero flavor to the steak. No butter, no salt, no pepper. We were both so so sad. We will go back to try their pizza because the pizza they were pumping out looked delicious. Overall review though was for the price and other restaurants in this area I would chose to go somewhere else. read more

This place both delights and frustrates me in equal measures! I have lived in Tomball for many years now and really should have been a regular here - but the serving mistakes makes you swear every visit will be your last! But, luckily for the owners, the cocktails and food quality draws me back after a while. Firstly the great points - the girls who run the bar are phenomenal. Cocktail execution, choice and wine recommendations are always so on point it is crazy! I was there last night and had a "teranoma?!?!" that was one of the best drinks I think I have ever had. Food is always great too - I doubt I have ever had a bad meal there. No the issues that wrecks all the above - it is always a game of Russian Roulette as to what order you will get you food - the headings 'Starters" "Shareables" and "Entres" clearly mean nothing. On at least my last 6 visits I have had either mains before starters or usually (which confuses me to distraction), everything at once! This is totally ridiculous and so avoidable. The fact that this continually happens is the reason we are not weekly patrons and will NEVER take out of town guests there. So, if you are the type of family who want to eat your meals in the order you chose them from the menu - find somewhere else as you will be sorely disappointed. However, if you want great food, fantastic drinks and are not remotely bothered that your brie will come twenty minutes after your steak or your salad, salmon and starter will all arrive at once and be balanced all over your table - this is the place for you!! read more

We went here after a baseball game. We're in Tomball for a tournament, and we always like to support local restaurants. It was 9:30, and they seated us and served us, even though they close at 10:00. It was one of the only local places still open. Tyler was our waiter, and he did a fantastic job. He was friendly and very attentive! I really enjoyed both meals that I ate here. The food is locally sourced and fresh cooked. They ran out of several main items on their menu both times and we were there early in the evening. The asparagus was great, the watermelon ahi tuna salad is delicious. the pizza was tasty- My friend ordered the delicious smoked chicken- very good. We tried their potatoes and mac n cheese- both good. Portions are small. Its about 30-40 per person without drinks. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. Do not go here if you are in a hurry. Its for the nice 2-3 hour evening. I find that enjoyable. I wish they would plant some nice plants, and doll up their patio. I love to eat al fresco. read more

The decor and atmosphere is beautiful. The charcuterie board was the best I've ever ever had dining out and the pizza was delicious. Our sever lacked personality and menu/alcohol knowledge, although I've learned most severs will never know all the bourbons the restaurant has. My old fashioned was very well made but overpriced. We spoke with management to inform them of our concerns. It's not ok to charge $23 per drink, unless of course, the liquor warrants the price. In our case, even downtown Chicago doesn't charge that much. We were offered a reduction in price upon discussion but the point to be made here is to allow fellow yelpers the opportunity to learn from our experience. Aside from paying close to $90 (with tax & tip) for our three drinks, the rest of the establishment faired well. read more

Arrived at around 6:45 on a Wednesday night and was immediately told they only had 2 people waiting tables, no biggie, we can wait and enjoy drinks. Ordered two drinks, took about 20 minutes to get, again no biggie. Ordered a salad as a starter, took about 20 minutes to get, again no biggie. Ordered food, about ten minutes later was told they were out of my husband's order....he ordered a Pizza. A large portion of the menu is pizza, how do you run out of pizza? Ok no biggie, except my husband doesn't eat meat, only seafood. So he orders the only seafood option, Halibut. At this point we have been at the restaurant for over an hour. About 20 minutes after he reorders, we are told they ran out of Halibut. Needless to say we were completely over it and were ready to leave! Management was very nice and gave us our two drinks and side salad on the house. We left the waitress a tip, and decided to go elsewhere. Whoever does the food purchasing for this restaurant clearly needs better inventory records. read more
