Went to Brix wine cellar a few days ago for a little date night and it was so nice! I'd previously come for a bridal shower and the food was really good so we came back. We ordered the shrimp scampi bruschetta, and the short ribs. The shrimp scampi bruschetta was pretty good, I didn't realize it would be smothered in the shrimp scampi, but honestly, it was pretty good! The short ribs were a real seller! They were tender, they came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and the sauce was phenomenal!! The ambience is very old Italian, dim it, but very upscale and nice. The food was great, the service was great, and the ambience was perfect for a date night. We will be back! read more

We enjoyed a pleasant cheese tray with bottle of sparkling water and a wine flight. Live music in the courtyard was fun to listen to but not overpoweringly loud so we could have a conversation and just relax. There are nearby restaurants for heavier meals because the menu choices are largely snacks. The wine selections were better than average and worth returning to enjoy. Service was very good especially since the place was crowded because it's popular Our serverless and carefully to what we wanted and provided outstanding service by checking with us regularly and also talking to us. Popped by for happy hour with a friend - and honestly remembered very quickly why we don't stop by Brix for a nice glass of wine or two before a dinner somehwere. We have tried this place a few times, and found the service manageable - until getting a seat at the bar became a challenge - and only for members. While it may be nice to have this for members - it is a harsh way to treat new customers (my friend was in from inside the loop! a treat!) or customers you want to "win" over. The assumption was worse - as the spot was not marked "reserved" and we were told to wait and see. Then the bartender scolded me (yup, that tone) for not sitting where the manager/owner told me to sit. We are grown ups. With money to spend - and wines to learn about. Why are we being treated like less than worthy for being willing to try a new spot. Really trying to like the spots out that way as it is close to our home neighborhood. Why not just treat everyone with the same opportunity to enjoy the bar? I don't get it. Maybe in another 5 years, I might try again. read more

Brix would make a pretty profit if they offered Brunch and be a select few offering brunch in the Vintage that would allow them to stand out. I would like to thank David, the bartender tonight who made me a 007 (Double 07: James Bond signature: dirty martini, shaken and not stirred ). Perfection! I also wanted to recognize his participatory Crew that chimed in on our conversation when they overheard me ask about a brilliantly erected wine out of Napa, ironically named Quintessa--Which is my middle name. Thank you, David, Ruben, Matt, and Logan; you all worked together to educate me, which was appreciated. However, I have feedback on the pizza. I bought one Pepperoni and one Fig and Pig Pizza. The crust on these pizzas was Amazing due to the crispness of the crust. The lack of a finale with a stoke of butter, a hit of EVOO, and Fresh garlic was disappointing and barely there sauce with lack of proportional pepperoni piecs per slice...come on. In other words, the crust needed flavor, too, especially because your crust is a genuine brick oven-slayed pizza crust, so don't go Domino's on us. Season that thing! I need you all to stick to the description of your pizza on the menu and don't be stingy. I had to ask the lady to get the kitchen to add more arugula. She brought my pizza back to me, looking the same way; it barely had arugula and dressing. I don't want to pay $15 for a good specialty pizza and then have to go home and Doctor it up to make it a great pizza in line with your description of what I was buying on Your menu. Lastly, the side of pizza sauce tasted like Bertolli Vodka Pasta Sauce but I'm not mad because I like Bertolli Vodka Pasta Sauce but it's not a side of pizza marinara. Other than that, I still recommend Brix to loosen you and your party up with wine, spirits, bites and a pretentious atmosphere with a really down to earth staff with reasonable prices. read more

I recently hosted my engagement party here, and I can't say enough about how wonderful the experience was. The service, the staff, the food, and the ambiance were all exceptional! Nita and her team truly know how to run a restaurant--they were attentive, welcoming, and made us all feel special throughout the event. Finally tried BRIX last night, after looking it up several times. Have to say I was impressed from the moment I stepped onto the patio and was promptly greeted by a very friendly server. Alex and Kendrick, at the bar, just kept it going from there. I went alone to celebrate a promotion, and ended up having a great evening and feeling like I was celebrating with friends. Their cocktail and wine list is great. Specifically, I'm a Pinot Noir drinker, and it's very hard to find places here who don't have menus chocked full of Cali Pinots. BRIX has plenty of French and Oregon options. I also ordered from the prix fixe menu, which is very reasonably priced. The food was all very good. And more than enough food. This is a great place, and I feel I'll be spending many evenings there. read more

We hosted our wedding reception in the Bordeaux room. During the entire planning process leading up the day of the event Nita went above and beyond to make this a seamless and enjoyable planning experience. Could not thank her enough for being a pleasure to work with. The day of the event it could have not been more perfect. Everything was set up better than we expected. The staff was some of the best servers we have ever had so attentive to every detail and to everyone. The food was some of the most delicious and fresh meals we have ever had. A lovely venue! Quite impressed with everything -- Came here for a private event on a recent afternoon. Beautiful set up, lots of room, plenty of tasty food and wine. Staff was excellent: kind, helpful, gracious and extremely accommodating. Park in the surrounding shops area and walk to the center of this section of Vintage Park, since the entrance is accessible from a large promenade. I saw that outdoor seating was available, too, which would be great on a warm, breezy day. I had never been here before and I wasn't really sure what to expect when I arrived. Pleasantly surprised by many things. This is my go-to spot for a strong drink, tasty appetizers, and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The ambiance is also really special, more upscale, more of young-middle-aged professionals. Their food is consistently great. I can't complain. There's a reason I keep going back. Besides the food and the ambiance, the staff knows their liquor! Always amazing. My wife and I have been regular customers for over 2 years now. The food, drinks, and attention to detail are always there. I'd put their bar up against any in the city even the trendier inner-loop joints. And their kitchen keeps up as well. Both the bar and the kitchen are constantly introducing new items or limited seasonals so the menu stays fresh and interesting all the time. The staff and owner operators are stellar and have amazing people skills. They have started to recognize my wife and I and even have a working memory of our likes/dislikes. We only make it there once or twice a month but that is enough for them... Ambiance is warm and inviting inside. And if the weather is nice their patio is pretty exceptional considering the area of town. Often on Friday and Saturday nights the shopping center they are a part of offers live music and it is a nice experience. To top it off there is a house som who will be happy to give you a premium wine education if you ask. If you get on their mailing list there are also event opportunities like prix fix wine dinners and other cool things. You have to try Brix! I'd give them a 6/5 if I could. read more

What is it about restaurants that do not want to sit you unless the whole party is there? Don't they realize that one could be ordering appetizers and cocktails while the rest of the party arrives vs just straight ordering dinner? They could at least offer to seat you at the bar and that way they can generate more business, too. Once we were seated after they realized some of us had difficulty standing for long periods of time the rest of the party arrived. We were rushed into ordering like if we already knew what they serve. No chance to study the wine list or menu. The restaurant wanted to close. It was the day before a holiday. So instead of ordering a bottle or flight of wine I ordered a quick cocktail. Some ordered the hamburger that was definitely to die for. It is huge and rich enough for two. We also ordered the stroganoff and the risotto. We shared a dessert. If I were to return I would order the hamburger. read more

My first visit was during Restaurant Week this year. They had a very robust vegan menu. I was quite surprised and delighted by their choices. On this visit I tried their Chops and elotè. You write elotè on the menu and I'm going to try that first! My husband got his favorite, the White Pizza. And hasn't been disappointed yet. We brought our friends on this visit and they throughly enjoyed themselves as well. We recommend the Ginger buzz, I do believe that's what it's called. The drink has a Szechuan button that is the center of the drink. It is an entire experience! When you come by don't forget to try this. The environment has a medium noise "registry". But it doesn't take away from the intimacy of the space. There is PLENTY of outdoor space to enjoy and it's a great way to people watch and enjoy the entertainment that happens during the evening. We started with fancy bourbon-based cocktails paired with a Brussels sprouts appetizer. It tasted like candy. We would have been fine if our server just kept bringing us Brussels sprouts until we were full. While awaiting our meal, we ordered bread that was warm and delightful. My wife had risotto that was creamy and cheesy. Delicious. I had spare ribs, asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes. My spare ribs could be cut with a fork.
