Decent market for this area of Alameda!! I used to come in here often, long ago, when I used to play basketball at nearby Washington Park. Markets always come with market prices, so I usually just get something to drink. Parking isn't too bad in this plaza as this market is the main draw here. But it's very well stocked, ok service as far as I could tell!!

Rude, combative lady at Bonfare Market at the end of Webster in Alameda.

I just went into this market to redeem my winnings from a powerball ticket and was met with the most incompetent, rude person that I have ever dealt with at this market. My winning ticket was for $4 and so I asked her for 4 Super Lotto tickets($1 each) instead of the cash. I then gave her a $20 bill and asked for 10 Powerball tickets($2 each). She clearly didn't bother to listen because she ends up giving me one Super Lotto ticket($1 total) and 5 powerball tickets ($10 total). When I tried to explain what I asked for versus what she gave me, she became agitated and short with me. She forgot that I am owed $4 on top of the $20 I gave her so she starts saying that I am wrong and that I cannot get my 3 Super Lotto tickets and my 5 Powerball tickets because I have already $9 worth of tickets and it won't add up with my $20 in her hand. Again, she clearly forgot about the $4 winnings I had. The guys who I always deal with had to come in and fix it because she didn't want to be helpful. She wanted to argue and be abrasive and combative. She probably would've tried to physically fight me if she wasn't working. Once I got what I asked for from the guys who know what there doing, she continued to sat that I was wrong all along and as I left she yells at me, "YOU'RE NOT GOING TO WIN ANYWAYS!!" Completely unnecessary and unprofessional! I will take my business elsewhere. That lady shouldn't be interacting with customers if she doesn't want to listen and be combative once someone tries to get what they actually asked for. My photo shows her purposely hiding from my camera. If I was so wrong and she was so right, then why hide!?

My first time coming in here i love it. The chicken skin tasting good better then pork skin

We shop there occasionally (three-four times a year). Can't say much about owner(s) or employees as I never interacted much other than "in out, bing bang" and that's it. I didn't notice or experience any rude or "strange" behavior, neither from customers nor employees, otherwise it would've been one star just like all those other reviews (I rarely give five stars to businesses). Also I noticed during my brief shopping visits that other patrons at that moment were from different cultures, speaking different languages, and from different ethnic backgrounds. Truly a diverse and multicultural environment. Finally to Abigail C.: Maybe you should take your rowdy, sugar hopped-up kids to the park to play or spend more time teaching them good manners. Don't be shifting your shortcomings as a parent to others around you. *I am not related to this business owner(s) and am not an everyday/"regular" visitor but reviewers with low self-esteem and an inferiority complex should consider some kind of therapy or even learning a thing or two about different cultures, or perhaps learning a different language before labeling people as racist, bigots, homophobes or any kind of "phobes".

Then a man came over and told us we were very rude and to get out of their store. I have absolutely no idea what we did. I genuinely asked him what we did wrong and he angrily waved us out of the store. We are a multicultural family, so not sure if race played into things. It was a very unnerving experience!

Checkout is usually pretty quick. Plus's for me are organic fruit and vegies, salmon, pappidoms, prosecco, brut, cheese, yougurt, sour cream, cottage cheese and tinned fish. The kids call it tinned fish now days. Try ordering "tinned fish" at a wine bar in SF and see your wallet shrink. Not so at TJ's, affordably priced like back in the day. Great selection for a light dinner or snack with the aforementioned cheese. Free snacks are always great. Go back for 2nds and 3rds. Also, single bottles/cans of beer so you can mix and match your on 6 pack with provided carrying case. If you drink to much of this stuff it's the only 6 pack you'll have, BTW. They recently put in a tall freezer isle to handle more product. They are still wirking oit the bugs since usually the glass is so fogged up you can't see anything and when you open the door there are 3-4 inch icicles hanging off the shelves and frozen items. So all in all pretty good but this is a smaller TJ's so less stuff I think.

Tried this out and it was surprisingly not bad for a quick, small snack. Of course the filling is mostly potatoes with some carrot/peas and a minimal amount of shredded pork. The store itself is organized and clean like most other Safeway stores. They also have an Olyns (app-connected) can/bottle recycling machine right outside. If I have ever been in need of help they've always been there for me. The layout is easy. The signs are in good shape. Just about the same as other Safeways which is nice and familiar. They have a good amount of veggies and fruits that are both organic and not. Well stocked in other areas too. Oh did I mention that they have their gas station too? Like what's not to love! Solid for me. No complaints! 5/(
