    Organic finger limes

Small, local, health grocery store located in the Alameda Marketplace with a parking lot outside. Picked up some mineral water, organic finger limes and artisan jerky (wagyu beef and venison) today. They have a small but conscious section for produce, pantry, seasoning, and dairy. As well as an apothecary-esque area for natural oils, makeup, deodorant, health tonics. For fresh meats, drop by Baron's butchery in the same indoor space.

Alameda Natural Grocery is the hippest place to shop for groceries in Alameda. In fact, some peeps come from the "mainland" to shop there.  As I entered the store from their parking lot, on the left was a bulletin board with information about music and children. On the right, there was a bakery display case. I couldn't resist getting a large crispy breadstick with seeds, jalapeno and cheese. I also got some  chocolate chip, molasses, and oatmeal cookies--they were so delicious I almost ate them all before getting back in my car.  They have a fresh fish and meat market where there is a butcher to make those special cuts of meat. Also, the animal products come from animals that are raised humanely. You can actually smell the fish before you buy (who wants to buy old stinky fish?) They have a wide variety of foods for vegans, and people on special diets, too. They steer away from chemically processed foods, including GMO. They have a beautiful selection of organic fruits and vegetables including the largest selection of fresh mushrooms I have seen in the East Bay. They carry just about everything you would expect for a natural food store. Something that surprised me located above their large selection of chocolate bars was some really beautiful large woven baskets. You can see them in my photos. I love coming to this store!

I miss the little birthday cakes that they used to sell. They were perfect and delicious.

I love the store but the cashiers are consistently rude. I have yet to visit when one was friendly. I only shop here if I have to.

Lovely atmosphere. Interesting products. Service seems stretched thin or unavailable. Prices are high and expected to tip cashier.

This is a cute little grocery store, deli, coffee & tea bar with locally grown organic produce,…read morehealthy food, and even a little toy section and greeting card area. I like supporting local businesses whenever I can. They sell SemiFreddi bread here as well as other well known local brands of healthy food. Their sandwiches looked amazing but I didn't try one because they are a bit too pricey. But I guess you pay for quality ingredients! I did try their mocha coffee drink, which was amazing. They pump real Ghirardelli chocolate into it, it's not a powder mix, which I appreciate.

First, I have to say, this place s SSLOOWW........ I've walked in several times (say x6, because I…read moredo laundry a block down). And I've only been served twice. All other times, they are sooo slow that I walk out. They're concentrating too much on the ambience. Groceries are scant. Mostly seasonings, cheeses, and a very slim selection of meats. Service is EXTREMELY relaxed... For grocery shoppers, y'all will need to get a clue and notice when customers want cute service, or to just get in and get out. If that part is good, we can get to know each other as I come and go. But if I think your place is too inconvenient, I will find a more convenient convenience store. Good luck! For a grocery/cafe, or whatever store this they are going for, all I can say is that it's cute and has decent atmosphere for a coffee shop. Everything else they are trying to do seems to give me the feeling of being lost every timing in.
