Looks like your typical corner bodega when you peer in but don't be fooled. We didn't look for other stuff but they have an amazing coffee selection: They had all the fancy boutique coffee bags but fair trade was among them plus exotic canned varieties.

I feel welcomed anytime I come in here and their stock is amazing. Definitely happy to have a space to quickly grab snacks or lunch during the day or something as the evening comes to a close. Check this space out

The guy that runs the store, Ahmed, has a tendency of harassing young women. He always makes inappropriate remarks at me. First incident he asked for a hug and despite me saying no multiple times he insisted it was an innocent hug, however he went on and grabbed my chest. I shoved and yelled at him. He apologized (not sincerely clearly) second time he snuck on behind me and pressed his crotch area onto my backside. This time I had a water bottle at hand and threw it at the man impulsively and out of shock. I decided to stop going to this store. However, two days ago I wasn't feeling to well and instead of traveling far I figured it was my best option because it is the closest store... the man decided to sneak up on my once again and grab my breast. I've spoke to a couple of my neighborhood friends about the situation and they had similar encounters. Stay safe ladies!

Looking for cheese? There is a hidden nook across from the meat case that offers an amazing, well curated selection of cheeses. Prices in some areas are a little bit higher than somewhere like WF, but they are not a massive corporation, so it is understandable. The staff works like a friendly cohesive team offering great customer service. The market was full of customers, but they did a fantastic job at not allowing lines to form. I plan on making Piedmont Grocery one of my regular stops!

So many good looking meats and varieties of sausages. I wish we could shop here more often, but it's totally out of our price range. We came here on a whim. We were in town for a couple of days and needed lunch later that day without having time to go out. We looked at their inhouse prepackaged refrigerated meals and picked out some eggplant parmesan and went to the prepared food table and took home a half a quart of butternut squash soup. Lunch was warm and filling on a nice chilly day. I was happily surprised that the eggplant parmesan came out so well. It was nicely breaded and wasn't soggy and was very flavorful and not mushy. It was just like a restaurant, other then we had to heat it up ourselves in our toaster oven. The dishes come in tin containers. This is not a place I can shop in regularly, but when I can it's a treat.

The place had a farmers market/Sprouts kind of feel and carried predominantly organic produce. They have almost every type of product but maybe only 1-2 brands for each. I liked that there were many plant-based options, from cream cheese to frozen meals or sweets, but I was disappointed that they specifically didn't have nondairy yogurt which is one of my go-to's for breakfast. Almost everything is organic, and the price reflects that; a regular 15oz can of tomato sauce was $4. Besides that, it seems like a safe and convenient place to shop with their wide selections. The staff member helping at check-out was also very friendly.

Fortunately, Monte Vista is a nice, local produce market that does! In addition to Thai basil, they also provide ingredients like Thai chili peppers and even Makrut lime leaves. But there's a reason for my continued patronage at this store: it slashes my grocery budget by at least 50 percent, if not more. It makes a big difference during these inflationary times. I used to stick with packaged goods, but in more recent years I've also been getting as much produce as possible at this GO. It's quite a bit less than at the other grocery store I often frequent, a family-run business in the Dimond district. It's not hard to find quality produce here, and they have a respectable amount of organics. The one thing that keeps me from giving this store a full five stars is the fact that they allow signature gatherers to set up shop by the front door, and these people thrust their their damn clipboards and pens in your face when you try to walk in. Today, when I politely declined to fork over my signature, the woman told me, "You should try to give a hoot about this," which was quite annoying. I'm not going to put my signature on something I haven't researched beforehand. These things are not always what they seem to be. In any case, I go to Grocery Outlet to do my shopping, not to debate ballot initiatives with people I do not know, and certainly not to be shamed by them when I don't give them what they want. I really, really wish the GO would not allow these signature gatherers to harass their customers, who are not there to engage in political discussions. In fact, I wish they wouldn't allow these people on the property AT ALL.
