Beer to go with the food.

I stopped in here by accident. The new Oakland location of Senor Sigsig is right next door. I glanced inside and saw a cooler of craft beers and decided to grab a few to have with my burritos. They offer single can choices that you can make into your own four pack! Very cool. The gentleman organizing the beers informed me that they were going to be offering local bay area craft beers along with speciality non beer beverages. He was very nice and excited to share with me their organizing techniques. They also have ciders and kombuchi drinks. Check in with YELP and you get a small coffee too! I saved mine for next time. Because there will be a next time! The cute little market also had a plethora of other items that include, vegan snacks, produce, a small area with other miscellanous necessities. The store was practicing safe COVID rules and asks customers to sanitize their hands prior to coming in. A big bottle of hand santizer is at the door for this. I look forward to my next visit when I go for burritos and or nachos or whatever. An excellent neighborhood market. Happy Yelping!

I love accidentally finding gems. Came in here for some alcohol while waiting for our Senior Sisig dinner. This is such a cute and tiny market. They have a coffee bar, they sell local beers, Japanese items, vegan stuff, etc. Definitely things that are aimed at the gentrified group in the area. You can probably find anything you're looking for in this market. It's a one-stop-shop!

This place is temporarily closed for repairs because a drunk driver crashed through the front of the store - from their GoFundMe page: "Sadly, the damage is significant and we don't know exactly how long repairs will take. This is quite a blow, especially after the Covid lockdown forced us to close our beloved Spice Monkey Restaurant next door. The hardest part for us is not being able to gather with you and our staff as a community [...] THANK YOU for all the support you've shown over the years. Proudly speaking, as a Cambodian-born immigrant and Air Force veteran, being of service to you and all the people of Oakland has been my greatest honor. Stay safe. We look forward to seeing you again soon." Wanted to share this here since I personally didn't know this was why they were closed! A cute little upscale market that carries a little bit of everything. You could probably find what you need in this little neighborhood shop. I come here specifically for Capital Juice, I'm not sure if they still carry it, but it was a convenient location right near Senior Sisig. I passed by the other day and they are definitely monitoring the quantity of customers entering/exiting to maintain their capacity limit.

This is the great example of a corner street market and store. This is a good place for a beer run or to grab some non-GMO friendly snack. This place is a mini market version of a cornerstore Wholefoods.

Great selection of natural foods and treats. AWESOME WINE SELECTION curated by certified sommelier and a great beer selection. They also sell hemp sodas and a good selection of vegan and Gluten-free items. I love to support this WOC owned and operated local business!

So many good looking meats and varieties of sausages. I wish we could shop here more often, but it's totally out of our price range. We came here on a whim. We were in town for a couple of days and needed lunch later that day without having time to go out. We looked at their inhouse prepackaged refrigerated meals and picked out some eggplant parmesan and went to the prepared food table and took home a half a quart of butternut squash soup. Lunch was warm and filling on a nice chilly day. I was happily surprised that the eggplant parmesan came out so well. It was nicely breaded and wasn't soggy and was very flavorful and not mushy. It was just like a restaurant, other then we had to heat it up ourselves in our toaster oven. The dishes come in tin containers. This is not a place I can shop in regularly, but when I can it's a treat.

The place had a farmers market/Sprouts kind of feel and carried predominantly organic produce. They have almost every type of product but maybe only 1-2 brands for each. I liked that there were many plant-based options, from cream cheese to frozen meals or sweets, but I was disappointed that they specifically didn't have nondairy yogurt which is one of my go-to's for breakfast. Almost everything is organic, and the price reflects that; a regular 15oz can of tomato sauce was $4. Besides that, it seems like a safe and convenient place to shop with their wide selections. The staff member helping at check-out was also very friendly.

But there's a reason for my continued patronage at this store: it slashes my grocery budget by at least 50 percent, if not more. It makes a big difference during these inflationary times. I used to stick with packaged goods, but in more recent years I've also been getting as much produce as possible at this GO. It's quite a bit less than at the other grocery store I often frequent, a family-run business in the Dimond district. It's not hard to find quality produce here, and they have a respectable amount of organics. The one thing that keeps me from giving this store a full five stars is the fact that they allow signature gatherers to set up shop by the front door, and these people thrust their their damn clipboards and pens in your face when you try to walk in. Today, when I politely declined to fork over my signature, the woman told me, "You should try to give a hoot about this," which was quite annoying. I'm not going to put my signature on something I haven't researched beforehand. These things are not always what they seem to be. In any case, I go to Grocery Outlet to do my shopping, not to debate ballot initiatives with people I do not know, and certainly not to be shamed by them when I don't give them what they want. I really, really wish the GO would not allow these signature gatherers to harass their customers, who are not there to engage in political discussions. In fact, I wish they wouldn't allow these people on the property AT ALL.
