Love this place. Bonefish has the same owners as outback. You can really tell the difference when the staff is thoroughly trained and the ingredients are prepared fresh. There is usually a little bit of a wait because the food and the service are always great! They obviously have a lot different fish and their chicken, steak and pork are all good too. My favorite is their bang bang shrimp. The drinks from the bar and the deserts are all excellent as well. I've been here at least 10 times and have not had a bad experience. read more

I came here twice. Once was a dinner that had to end abruptly and other time was for happy hour. The dinner experience was wack. I felt like we had to hunt for the waiter rather than him being attentive. Took like ten minutes just to take our order. Not with that at all. We had to take the food to go since a situation happened where we needed to leave. Turns out our appetizer was not in the bag when we went to check it. WOMP. If this review was this experience along it would have gotten two stars. The pad Thai was really good though, super salty but great flavor. But I have to give it up to Christa she turned this place around for me. She is so friendly and very funny. Gave us a run down of her favs on the menu which made me want to order all of them. The sangrias she made were so on point !! I had the red sangria, so good and not a typical sangria. Tried the mango sparkling sangria and she adds a hint of cinnamon in it. So so good. Had happy hour bites: the cod sliders and the mussels. Oh man the mussels were so tender and the juice was delicious. Phenomenal!! Before I knew it they were done. I took the bottom buns of the cod sliders and dipped it in the mussels sauce, so good. The cod sliders were a huge portion, like inch thick cod. Very good and fried perfectly. I was leaning towards 4 stars but for excellent service for a party of 9 on valentines weekend they get a 5. My sister cannot have gluten and they have a dedicated gluten free menu so she was excited to have her birthday dinner here. I have been to the seacaucus location and enjoyed my meal so I was happy to return. The boom boom shrimp appetizer is a must! Crab cakes were also good. My mahi mahi was fantastic, my 10 year old stepson ate half of mine because he is just starting to try seafood and this one was a winner! Everyone's meals looked great. Little hiccup was my stepsons chicken fingers were over fried, and my aunt was given the wrong meal from the specials menu (there was similar dishes, she wanted the filet version and was given the pasta, but she enjoyed it). Delicious food and EXCELLENT service!!!! I came on a Tuesday and ordered for four. We tried the seafood and the steak choices on the menu and had a wonderful clash of flavors. The drinks were on point and the best I've tasted at any restaurant with this caliber of food. The Ginger Mint Lemonade was the BEST and the creme brûlée is to die for. As chains go, Bonefish has always been a cut above the rest when it comes to consistency. Our group of six were out celebrating my grandmother's birthday. A table was wrangled to accommodate and a server was by quickly to take our orders. Bonefish does for seafood what stablemate Carrabba's does for Italian: above average specialized cuisine (none too adventurous seafood) with decor to match. Some menu items work better than others: the signature Bang Bang Shrimp made a few appearances on the table, with the crispy fried shrimp bathed in a spicy aioli over greens. The crab guacamole didn't work nearly as well, too heavy on avocado and too light on seasoning. Bonefish prides itself on fresh fish, with their wood-grilled cuts a fine choice. I went with ahi tuna topped with mango salsa, together with spinach and garlic whipped potatoes. The tuna was cooked a near perfect rare, overcoming the thin salsa. While the garlic whipped potatoes were tasty, the spinach was watery, limp, and bland. Choose your sides well, keep the fish simple, and load up on Bang Bang Shrimp and you'll do well at any Bonefish read more

We love Bonefish Grill but were very disappointed today. We ordered house salads which were brought out missing the heart of palm (our favorite part of the salad!). When we brought it to the waitress's attention she said she would get them. She returned and said they weren't on the salad because they were out of them. Then my wife's salad had hair in it. Our entrees came, she had trout with veggies. The trout was dry, the veggies were broccoli that were not cooked at all - raw just warmed. We were not satisfied and the prices are premium. Most bonefish are typically the same, what sets this one apart from the rest is its location as well as excellent service. It's conveniently located on RT46 with lots of parking making dining out much more pleasant instead of hunting for a spot. You can and should always call ahead and make a reservation here as wait times can be in around 1h or longer depending on time of day. The service here is first class. Even when it's very busy. Our server constantly made sure we had all that we needed and accommodated all small and special requests. Food as always was great. My Lobster tails with butter were cooked perfectly. I like the Bonefish much more than I expected - all you never-a-chain snobs just lay off. The food is good and reasonably priced, like a piece of grilled fish and two sides for $20. You can get a drink and the prices are fair, like a moscow mule for $8 or a craft brew for $6. They put their experience and ca$h towards noise control so adult conversation is EASY. The waiters are eager to please. The portions are modest, you can indulge in their yummy bread and bang-bang shrimp, yet still eat an entree. The room is a little dark, spin it as a romantic dinner if you prefer. You want to bring a baby? Yours definitely won't be the only one in the room. On this latest visit my mother treated herself to a single lobster tail with two sides for $16, it was excellent, even a side of butter over a warming candle had style. I tried the grilled ahi tuna for $19, maybe a bit too much black pepper on the fish cos it was ok on its own. A side of spinach was excellent; the French green beans (haricots vert) were drastically undercooked. Dining room was well over half full but the kitchen was still quick. Vegetarian rating: 1 star cos every entree has animal protein. You could make a meal of a cesar salad plus sides like rice, fries or mac-n-cheese. Ordered Chilean Seabass I swear if I were to make a half a sandwich would be plenty room on the bread. The fish was slightly under done but it's hard to screw up such a beautiful fish. 3750. Ordered asparagus ,steamed asparagus for a 350 up charge him a five small asparagus spears that look like they were dead. Garlic mashed potatoes were stiff small and not hot enough. The only reason we went here is because we had a gift card. We actually made a reservation on a Saturday night in New Jersey when we walked in the place was mostly empty. Gee I wonder why. So many better choices locally I'd rather give my money to the mom and pop we have a little bit of pride in what they do. Conveniently located on Rt 46w, we stopped here on a recent night for a quick light fish dinner. While our food was good, the staff could use some training. Upon entering, we were ignored for about 5 minutes due the party in front of us trying to figure out how many people they were missing. Once I asked to be seated, we were promptly taken to a dirty table and asked to wait while it was cleaned. There was a ton of empty tables so not sure why this happened. The waitress came over to give us water. We pointed out the dirty water glasses to which she responded sometimes this happens. I didn't really like that answer. Bread and dipping oil were brought to the table and was hot and fresh. We ordered mussels to share as an appetizer. When they arrived at the table we asked for 2 plates to be brought over. The server said "they are right there", pointing to our bread plates which had bread and oil on them. I gave her a confused look and she finally said I will bring 2 clean ones over. Gee....thanks. The Bonefish Grill has issues with cross contamination recently. I'm allergic to shrimp and had a reaction when I ate their salmon. I've been going there for years this first time. I only visit Bonefish Grill once every few years. Unfortunately this time was not like the others. I ordered my usual favorites and it all almost missed the mark. The corn and crab meat chowder isn't what it used to be. It wasn't terrible but they threw a few pieces of crab meat in top of the chowder. I expected more like for crab to be in the soup. The calamari was great. I wish they listed the ingredients of the blackberry smash on the menu because it wasn't appetizing at all. I found out later that it had a coconut water base and that's not my thing at all. I had the scallops special and I felt like they were undercooked. We visited at 8 pm on a Thursday evening so maybe that had something to do with. The service was good. Smiling faces and all but things like the bread took really long (the waitress said she had to put it in the oven), my entree took longer than normal as well. Especially because I'd want busy. We sat in the bar area so again, perhaps that had something to do with it. My husband and I don't get many date nights so i wish this had been a little better. Hopefully they will improve before we return. We always have good service and great food at Bonefish but this time missed the mark. read more

Finally got to come here after months of trying. Easily located on route 46, in a nice enough area. Inside there's plenty of seating. A more formal dining area and then a bar area with some tabletops and a few booth seats. Started off with the Bang Bang Shrimp, a must if you're coming here. Might as well call it crack shrimp cause you just can't stop. I did a little surf and turf for dinner, 6 oz sirloin and a homemade crab cake, and it comes with two sides, I got the string beans and some jasmine rice. Everything was cooked very well (my steak was rare, not well done) and it was all very flavorful. The staff here is wonderful, very kind and helpful. The manager, Liz, puts a lot of work into the menu and the fresh fish they get every day, and it shows. Would recommend, definitely coming back read more

It's a white table cloth outing but being a chain they do rather well here, just check out my old fashioned drink in the photos I ordered 3 of them cos it tasted so damn good like a campfire ! Paired well with the sirloin and crab cake dinner and the bang bang shrimp I even paired it with my Creme brûlée' at the end. Walked in to order at the bar. Only one in the restaurant. Super friendly chef greeted me and said take a seat. Bartender was super nice and knowledgable about the local beers on draft. Ordered take away; Bang Bang Shrimp five stars, calamari 4.5 stars, Shrimp Pad Thai 4 stars and a filet 8 oz medium 4 stars. Everything was great and cooked proper. Attention negative Yelpers: Quality of food, taste and prep should be weighted 90%. Not 50%. We all have bad days. So if your feelings got hurt when your server was in the weeds taking 2 sections and you wrote a bad review you need to get a life. We came to this restaurant after Super Storm Sandy. One of only a few in the entire area with no restrictions still serving the entire menu and greeted by friendly wait staff. The first time I was here was during a Yelp event. However, we came back with the entire family for a birthday celebration. Service: It was excellent. Our server came to our table and was able to explain every question we had. We didn't know too much about certain fishes and we had a few people that had dietary restrictions. Our server was able to adjust our dishes to the way we needed our meals. The only minor incident was trying to pay our bill. It wasn't busy and it would have been nice to have gotten our bill when we didn't want dessert. We had to hunt our server down to get and pay our bill. Food: It was delicious. When I was little we would always pass by this place and I use to think they only offer fish. I grew to love fish but it was nice to know that they had offered other entrees besides seafood. I asked for my salmon to be medium rare and it was unfortunately cooked well done. However, I never had my salmon with any other toppings. Our server offer for us to have several sauces and my favorite was a mango topping. It was nice and sweet and it just makes the salmon jump out more in flavor. I also love the gratin that I paired it with as a side. My sister also enjoyed it to the point where she ate half of it without realizing it. We got bang bang shrimp for the table and I personally would have liked the sauce on the side next time. The reason for the sauce to be on the size is because it can make the shrimp soggy after a while. Their fall martini special was amazing. It had a nice sweet, apple, autumn flavor to it. They are dangerous because it will make you keep drinking it. Environment: It is a nice warm and inviting area. My mom enjoys the mural of the fish in the back, we took a few pictures with it. I've been to Bonefish a few times but this is my first time in the Pinebrook location. Normally I would get the tuna bowl (which is excellent by the way - see my review for Bonefish Paramus) but I decided to try their chicken this time. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl and while it didn't really resemble teriyaki in the way that most of us are used to it, it was definitely very good. I really loved the mango salsa and how in general Bonefish incorporates these tropical salsa combinations into their bowls (for the tuna bowl it's passion fruit salsa). The chicken is well-seasoned and super soft and the fried rice was AMAZING. In fact, I'd be willing to say that the rice was better than what you'd get at an actual Asian restaurant. I've always been a fan of their drinks as well. I tried the pear martini for the first time which it's technically "pear", the flavor reminded me of peach rings, YUM! read more

Tonight we visited the Bonefish Grill in Pine Brook again, and again it was outstanding. I had a new item on the menu; the Thermidor Gnocchi. It's described on the menu as "Sweet Lobster chunks and tender Shrimp sauteed with golden-brown Potato Gnocchi, mushrooms, peas, and fresh tomatoes tossed in lobster-sherry cream sauce". It was delicious. I especially liked that the lobster-sherry cream sauce was served underneath the other ingredients rather than mixed together. You could see all the mushrooms, peas, tomatoes, shrimp, the toasted gnocchi and a very generous amount of lobster, right on top, which greatly increased the presentation of the dish. Apparently, this was originally a special, but it was requested so frequently that Bonefish added it to the regular menu. Don't look for it on their website though, it hasn't been updated yet, but it is on the actual menu. Trust me. For dessert I had the Chocolate Lava Cake, from the Specials Menu. Considering my choice for an entree, it was a bit heavy, but that's on me. The dessert itself was decadent, delicious and wonderfully presented. I recommend it. I also want to mention how wonderful the service was. Our waiter, Brian, really made our whole dining experience much more pleasurable. There was no question we could ask that he didn't already know the answer to, and every request we made seemed to arrive before we finished asking for it. After discovering that he had not only been with Bonefish for over 10 years, but he also helped train the new wait-staff, it all made sense. If you go, try and get a table in his section. read more

The food and the prices were amazing honestly the best food me and my husband had in a while. The only issues we really had was that the service was TOO fast. We didn't really have time to enjoy our portions of food before the next item was brought out. Another little thing that didn't really bother us but we wanted to bring up was that they didn't really take off the plates off of the table once we were done with them and they didn't refill our waters. A couple week ago my wife and I decided that it was time for a date night, but we didn't want to go overboard on the price - so we left the kids home with a DiGiorno pizza and we shot down Rt. 46 to Bonefish Grill. I know it's a chain, but I've been a big fan of Bonefish Grill since my first meal at one about ten years ago. I was a little nervous when we arrived because the parking lot was pretty full (easy entrance and exit by the way). When we got inside all was well and we were seated immediately and got our drink orders in right away (Chardonnay for her and a Bombay Sapphire dry martini for me). We also went crazy and ordered the ceviche appetizer and I ordered a spinach salad. Both were absolutely outstanding...I'm not always a huge fan of ceviche, but this one was full of delicious seafood, avocado, a citrus topping and fresh basil and other herbs. And the salad was huge with a delicious dressing and lots of bacon and bleu cheese. For dinner i ordered a special-Atlantic Charr topped with crab and drizzled with a slightly sweet glaze that really balanced the flavors of the fish nicely. My meal also came with Jasmine rice and some grilled zucchini and squash. The rice was very nice with the fish, but the veggies, while tasty, were very overdone. My wife ordered salmon (a HUGE shock...that was sarcasm of course) with spinach and goat cheese. I'm not a huge fan of either salmon or goat cheese, but this meal was amazing. Her meal came with mashed potatoes, which were very tasty, and the same mushy zucchini. Overall, we had a very nice meal and we had wonderful service. This was my first time at a Bonefish Grill and I have to say I liked it. Though I'm generally a carnivore I decided to stick with the theme and ordered the special: Crab encrusted cod with a side of mashed potatoes and spaghetti squash. The cod was delish! Mashed potatoes were good as was the squash. This was also my first time trying that spaghetti squash I had heard so much about. Quite an adventurous night for me. :) Portion was not huge but enough for me. My date ordered the twin lobster tails. I didn't try them but they looked good and he liked them. I liked the ambiance. It was dimly lit, romantic. Many people there considering it was a Tuesday night. Service was good! We opted for coffee and dessert at another restaurant. Nothing against Bonefish.
