    Bisteck a lo Pobre (~$15)

Ordered: Half Rotisserie Chicken (~$10): with 2 sides (I chose rice and fried plantain) with aji verde sauce (green sauce) Aya's take: The Rotisserie Chicken has a nice crisp and glaze on the skin and great flavor. With the aji verde sauce, it was next level! You can never go wrong with rice and fried plantains as sides. My only complaint is that I would've preferred sweet plantains instead of the fried plantains given which weren't as sweet and a bit more dry. Other than that, not a bad meal for the price point.

I took out one star because of price differences between menu and actual charged price. Most of foods were good, no salt on foods so I could add salt as much I needed on fried eggs or streaks which I loved it. Guacamole portion was bigger than other restaurants, also she gave us refilled chips. Awesome.

Ordered: Arroz Chaufa de Mariscos ($17), Arroz Chaufa de Camarones ($17) The arroz chaufa was pretty good. The sauce was decent, but not the best. It was slightly spicy, but it wasn't that flavorful. There also wasn't enough sauce for the amount of rice. Overall, good enough to satisfy my craving, but I've had better.

Wings, tostones, quesadillas, chips, salsa, dips, and I forget the name of the 'flatbread' tacos. All very good.

Stopped by for lunch while in the area. So many international restaurant choices in Parsippany. Impressive. The food was very good. Very friendly atmosphere. Good value. Would definitely recommend.

I haven't been in Garibaldi Peru Mex for several years. For a long time, I was a fan of the restaurant for its quality and its value, but mostly for its authentic and flavorful cooking. Then it seemed to go downhill and I stopped going. Today I gave them another try, and happily, they seem to be back on top of their game. Despite arriving on the late side for lunch, there were people eating at the tables and a wonderful aroma of grilled meats and spices greeted me when I entered. I sat down at what appear to be new tables and chairs and perused their expansive Mexican/Peruvian menu. This is one of those places where choosing is difficult, because there are many options and they all look good. There are twenty-five different types of tacos. The corn tortilla tacos come with four to a plate and the larger flour tortilla tacos come two to a plate. Regardless of what you choose, the tacos are $11.50. Not cheap, but certainly reasonable. They happily agreed to mix two types of tacos for me, and I chose two Lengua tacos and two Al Pastor tacos. While I waited they brought out a complimentary basket of warm, freshly made tortilla chips and two house-made sauces; a spicy hot sauce that was full of flavor, and an avocado sauce. My tacos arrived quickly and I was immediately impressed by how appetizing they looked. Steam was rising off the tacos, which were filled with a generous amount of meat, and the plate was garnished with lime, sliced radishes and grilled scallions. The tortillas were warm and tasted fresh. Both the Lengua and the Al Pastor where crispy, juicy and tasted great. A squeeze of lime and a drizzle of the home-made sauce made these tacos pop with extra flavor. The service was warm, quick and friendly. I'm so happy that Garibaldi Peru Mex is back on my list of go-to places, and I look forward to going again soon.

Taco de Pescado (4) fish tacos- very good!

Well...I'll start by saying the food here is not too shabby. I'll also preface the review by saying my exposure to straight up Peruvian food is limited. I'm way more...well-versed, shall we say, in Mexican cuisine. Since this restaurant is, from what I understand, NOT a "fusion" restaurant but an eatery that offers the foods of each respective country (the restaurant was started by two families, one Peruvian and one Mexican), it's difficult for me to make an educated assessment of the food based solely on the one menu item I tried, which was the fish tacos. So here's my breakdown: CUSTOMER SERVICE: I ordered takeout so I placed my order at the counter. The energy I got from the woman who took my order was not the friendliest. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and thanks to the pandemic and its ever-evolving impact on civilization as we once knew it, it's been a dumpster fire the last 18 months or so, especially for family and small businesses, so I'm trying to give family businesses an even bigger shot of grace. I have to be honest though- I just didn't feel that welcome. She took my order and the wait was minimal for freshly made tacos, so definite points there! :) As I was leaving I heard her say something in Spanish (inaudible to translate) and I turned around since I thought maybe I'd forgotten something. She said to me, "No I was telling them (other customers) that it was ready" or something to that effect, and then she basically waved me off to "dismiss" me, which sort of capped off the unwelcoming experience. So not the warmest service here based on my visit. ***Rating = 2/5*** FOOD: Okay, tacos aren't a traditional Peruvian food (as opposed to Lomo Saltado, for example). That said, I popped into this restaurant for dinner the other night after reading smashing reviews. Like I said above, the fish tacos were made fresh. The only thing they were lacking for me personally was a creamy sauce or condiment- I probably should have asked for a side of guacamole or chipotle sauce. *The fresh salsas included were delicious but I needed to add something crema-esque for pizazz.* I've ordered fish tacos elsewhere and the sauce is really a deal maker with fish tacos for me! It's like that saying (the one I just made up haha): "You don't know what you had until you don't get it somewhere else." -Yours Truly :) ***Rating = 3.5/5*** All in all, I've had far worse encounters in terms of customer service but I've also experienced much better. The food is, as I said, pretty good here and I would consider returning strictly to try a traditional Peruvian dish. ***Jury still out. I'll post an updated review if I return! :) ***

More or less like Mexican food ?? plz don't kill me :P Yup I heard and read the reviews and decided to go this Peruvian restaurant. It was just like next door neighborhood restaurant, nothing fancy. Service was really good and quick. We Ordered Pescado entero Mojarra Frita ( Fried Whole Tilapia with Rice-Beans & Salad), Half Polo Rotisserie Chicken and Peruvian chicken fried rice. I asked whether chicken is normal rotisserie chicken or their authentic Peruvian chicken, they said it would be their authentic one, but I did not find any diff between normal and whatever they served. My fried rice was good but it was not with scrambled egg as they described in the menu and chicken pieces were not tender. Still it was okay as sauces they served with rice were amazing. They served 4 sauces ( let me remember- Avocado-Chilli red- guacamole-Green creamy). The portions of the meals are great and the price is well worth what you pay for!

Last visit (and review) to this restaurant was pre COVID and it was great. Well, it's now post COVID and it's still great. Delicious Peruvian and/or Mexican cuisine (not a fusion) made in an authentic home made style with large satisfying portions and reasonable prices. A true family operation, run by husband, Jorge, his wife, Gloria, and daughter Emily. I think the pictures speak for themselves. Definitely recommend!

The food was good and the place was nicely kept. The service was also good , although it's covid and indoor dining is very limited .they made sure to follow proper guidelines and still offer enough seating with social distancing ( happy about that ) I had to take 1 star off because the Tacos Al Pastor were extremely greasy ! So bad to the point that I had to keep tabbing a napkin on them to soak up the grease . I've had them before else where and it's never been that bad .

Important Note: This restaurant would really rather you not use any of the delivery services because they've had problems with time and food being cold. So just call for pick up. I promise you, it's worth it. Also, super easy to pick up. Park, go in and pay, and get your noms on! This is an unassuming place hidden in a strip mall between an Indian Restaurant and a bike store. My friends and I wanted Mexican (because hey Taco Tuesdays are a highlight in COVID times). We looked up this place and said "Hey why not?" I'm so glad we did. We ordered several types of tacos, a half chicken with beans and yucca fries, and a fish soup. The quality was superb, everything tasted so fresh and so good. It's like someone's abuela (grandmother), spent all day making the corn tortillas and all the fillings. Chicken was nice and juicy, and all the side sauces are awesome. This place is legit; I got the Lengua (tongue) tacos and the Tacos de Cabeza (meat from the head of the pig, so think cheek meats). I wish I had gotten pictures with all the food, but it was so amazing that we inhaled it! So the picture below is a leftover of the Tacos de Cabeza and the Tacos de Lengua. So for your next Taco Tuesday, please consider this place. Especially in these difficult times, good food and good service deserve to shine!

Like many others have said, the Lomo Saltado de Carne is the way to go! I initially thought the meat would be a bit dry, but it was definitely the opposite of that. Laying on a bed of fries, the sauces and juices from the meat made it extra tasty. Free pita chips & sauce when you dine in! It was an empty restaurant when we were there, but it seemed like they forgot to give them to us. They're nice if you just ask for them though!

Good stuff! Food was fresh & made quick! Very friendly staff & they give you plenty with condiments. Lovely woman behind the counter offered to sanitize my hands after I paid! Will definitely order from there again!

I was one of only two customers when I went for a Saturday lunch around 1p. The other customer was also conversing in Spanish with the front of house. I appreciated that a bottled green habanero sauce was at my table, along with Cholula. It helps add to the authenticity. All that said, maybe don't come here for the tex-mex. After being seated, I walked around the premises and saw a large room for private events, a vast area for outdoor seating, very nice wall artistry, and even a good-sized individual room for a private meal. Shyam was an exceptional Server. He took very good care of us and contributed to an enjoyable meal. I started with a Classic Margarita and it was served in a LARGE glass. So large, that I had to hand over the car keys, afterwards. The Fat Cactus complimentary chips and salsa was AMAZING. First, the salsa had chunks of tomato, onions, and lots of basil. It was so throughly enjoyed, that we asked for a second helping, which they gladly obliged. Our selections were: Chicken Tortilla Soup (Rich chicken broth flavored with onions, tomatoes, corn, black beans, finished with a dash of cream, crispy tortilla chips, avocado, sour cream, and cheese). This soup was served in a deep bowl, had a very nice presentation, and every spoonful was flavorful. The next item was the Burrito Michoacano (Shredded chicken seasoned with authentic Mexican spices, Mexican rice, black beans, pico de gallo, cheese, and chili arbol sauce). This Burrito was huge, all of the ingredients were well seasoned, and I took some home to enjoy during the NFL playoffs. The final item was the Tamales Chicken Pastor (Homemade masa tamales, stuffed with Chicken Al Pastor, served with red enchilada sauce, and topped with creamy sour cream). I'm glad, that I discovered Fat Cactus and will definitely revisit and/or dine at their New Brunswick location.

It wasn't until hours later when, stomach growling, I traipsed over to the fridge excited for the remnants of my enchiladas de mole, that I realized to my dismay that my comida had desaparecida. I've made up for this absent-minded first experience since, and La Bamba Grill 2 now ranks among my top 3 favorite casual Mexican restaurants in this region. My dining companions and I have variously enjoyed tacos, tostadas, pozole, churrasco, and other dishes. The chicken quesadilla, something I normally only order for the kid and am disappointed by 9 times out of 10 in most restaurants, gets my adult endorsement and also passes the ultimate test: toddler approval. As you can see from my photos, it's stuffed with cheese and chicken (we opted for grilled chicken but you can get the marinated shredded version which is a little spicy). I've trauma-bonded with the aforementioned mole enchiladas, which again, is full of chicken, in a very good and well-flavored mole sauce that's better then most other moles I've had in the area. The platters are huge, with generous amounts of everything. The interior is colorfully and cheerfully decorated with Mexican-themed artwork and adornments, with cozy booths as well as a diner counter. One of my go-tos is the chicken quesadilla, which has a perfect tortilla - crisp on the outside, but gluten-y on the inside - along with stretchy, gooey cheese, which could stand to be more salted. I'm such a sucker for their thick, freshly fried tortilla chips. When parking on Boonton's Main Street is full up, La Bamba is easy to recommend because it has its own parking lot!
