A pretty disappointing meal at one of my favorite restaurants. Thought I would bring my mother and Grandmother here for a nice Mothers Day dinner. A special treat for the three of us. We at a 6:45 reservation and checked in with the host at 6:35. He VERY rudely and shortly told us "you're reservations aren't until 6:45, you'll have to wait". We were then greeted by a very friendly server. But the service was HORRIBLY slow, our server was very over loaded with tables. I understand it is a special holiday and they were exceptionally busy, but should have been better prepared. Once our food did come, our waiter never once came to check in on our food and we ate our whole meal without any drink refills. A very disappointing trip to a special place for us. Scallops and how they are cooked are a key metric I use to rate seafood restaurants. This restaurant knocked it out of the park. I will review the food I ate and then discuss service and the atmosphere. Even before I ordered my beverage, my server brought me a fresh from the oven ciabatta roll with a dish of olive oil and herbs. I was impressed because God wants you to enjoy great bread with olive oil and not butter. The bread had a wonderful crust that was not too heavy and the inside of this roll was perfect. OK, I thought, keep impressing me. Next up was the corn chowder(?) with lump crab meat. While it was very tasty, it was not what I expected. The soup had a garnish of lump crab meat. I was expecting it to be incorporated in quantity in the soup. Then again, this quality of crab meat IS expensive. But, it worked. Because the crab was high quality, the flavor held up to the nice thick soup and the corn was nice and properly sweet. As mentioned in the opening paragraph of this review, scallops are a key to how a restaurant prepares seafood. On their special menu for the day, they were offering "Saigon Scallops and Shrimp". The seafood was grilled. A bit curious, I continued. Sold. Bring me that. Most important was the fact that these were "dry pack" scallops. I hate the wet pack version. They were fork tender and scrumptious. The grill marks were nice and grilling did not over power the tender flavor. As for the shrimp, all the previous comments apply. A premier chef once served me scallops medium rare, or rare. I liked it and have cooked my high quality product at home that way. I asked the server if I had ordered mine that way, would the accommodate me. "Yes", she said. They would. While their scallops are not sashimi grade, they are very close. She always orders hers rare. Good move. Seafood was served with vermicelli and a Saigon sauce. I should have read the description of the sauce closer because it was a bit sweeter than I would have preferred. I still liked it very much and it complimented the delicate flavor of the scallops. They brought chop sticks for an Oriental dish without me asking. Kudos. The iced tea was an interesting experience. It was great. This is the first time ever that I ordered unsweetened tea and the brought out a dish of various sweeteners. Now, here is a pet peeve of mine. If I order tea with lemon, and you give me a refill, that means I want lemon in the second glass, too. Don't make me ask for it and have to make a second trip. What was nice is that my server asked if I wanted a to-go tea. Yes, I did. The atmosphere of the place is light and airy. I did not realize that much of their food is tied to Italian cuisine. Seating me was a bit of an issue. I often dine alone and many restaurants make mistakes the really tick me off. One is when they try to seat me at a bar. NO. I'm a paying customer and your first assumption should be that I want a table. If I'm in a hurry, I will ask to be seated at the bar. Fortunately, I did not have that experience, but I did have a negative one of a different type. I'm used to being seated at a smaller table, for two. While I was there during off hours, the place was not very busy and there were plenty of open tables. The hostess evidently was trained in seating lone diners at a smaller table. Those smaller tables were located either next to the restrooms or kitchen. No. I don't want to see who is going potty and hear the noise of the kitchen. Give me one of those nice booths near a window, please. My hostess seemed a bit confused on my request, but we worked it out. I'm remiss in citing my server's name, but she was great. Historically, I enjoyed this chain but an experience with an obsolete menu item turned me off. It was confusing with all the sauce options. My server explained that they have redone their menu to take some of the confusing options. Well played. There are many upscale chains nationally for seafood. I also like finding the hidden gems. Congratulations to this chain for impressing me and bringing me back. As a driver for Uber, I will recommend this place to my clients. read more

Meh. I travel all the time spending countless nights in hotels and countless meals in restaurants. This is your typical over-rated chain restaurant. I ordered seafood-stuffed cod. Boring. The cole slaw was out of the bag greens with no sauce. The au gratin potatoes were decent. The waitress was cheerful but was more interested in talking with her friends at a table near the ethan tending to tables. So do yourself a favor - go to your local grocery store, buy a couple rib eyes for your grill, buy a nice bottle of wine, light a couple of candles and put on a good movie. Our family chose to celebrate Mother's Day at this location, we're a large group so we made reservations over a week in advance. Everything started off fine and there was no issue with service being a little slow since we understood it was a holiday. However, it took over an hour to order our food. We still remained patient, until the the server dropped ketchup on the table, the floor and on my husbands white tennis shoes. Instead of saying she was sorry for the accident and staying behind to help clean it up she ran off and we basically did not see her the rest of the evening. My nephew had to clean the ketchup from the floor and it was never acknowledged by anyone. We had to ask multiple times to speak to managers because people were waiting for 45 minutes for a drink, no one ever asked for refills for anyone. Half the table we're getting food the other half was not. I never received my side salad And almost at the three hour mark I asked them to cancel my entrée as I was ready to leave at this point we had multiple issues with food being prepared incorrectly some never received their food and the service team and managers on duty still never could understand what the problem was, take accountability for it or try to resolve it. We had children there obviously, some who did not get their food and those who did was cold and we asked for them to heat it up and it took another 30 to 40 minutes for that to come out. Not once did anyone ever ask is everything OK can we get you anything it was literally the worst service I have ever had. It was four hours before we left and I left hungry. Oh and they brought us checks for food that was not received or was not consumed.They still in my opinion do not take accountability! The servers were also immature speaking disrespectfully to people who are trying to celebrate their Mother's Day and all they wanted to do was eat. Then as we left, the 2 servers, One who we actually complemented high fived and laughed as we left. I truly have never experienced anything like this and I refuse to ever return to a bonefish Grill even though they did try to give us a $25 promo card. Many of us drove 30 to 40 minutes to come to this location and this was the experience we had, we were there from 5 PM until 9PM. The biggest take away was no one seemed concerned, or at all empathetic to our situation and never tried to see what the real issue was and how to fix it. My advice is to better train your staff not to make excuses such as it's a holiday, since we're aware.. they failed at every point and did not care to make it right. Had a Birthday Sunday afternoon. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had the entrees Grilled Sea Scallops and Shrimp and I had Bang Bang Shrimp. I wasn't impressed. The service was terrible. We went on a Monday night with a party of 4. The restaurant was nearly empty (a party of 7, and three booths with 2 - 4 people each) aside from us. The server was quick with drinks and appetizer, but after that the service was really bad. Nearly 20 minutes after we ordered, the server came to tell me that they were out of the fish I ordered. I don't know what other duties she might have had in the back of the restaurant, but we were the only table she was serving, and she was a ghost. At one point, another server stopped and refilled our drinks because the glasses had been empty for so long. The pasta my daughter ordered must have been sitting in a serving window for at least 10 minutes because the top was dried out. Most of the food was good, but not a good value. On the positive side, my son-in-law's steak was cooked to temperature properly and the kung pao Brussel sprouts were a pleasant surprise. read more

Our server replied, "Of course", to our every request. On the way to an equipment auction, my wife and I decide to treat ourselves to a night out without kids. We were surprised to be seated within minutes upon arrival, especially on a Friday night. Our server greeted us promptly took initial orders and kept in constant contact during our visit. We began with the calamari, beyond expectation to say the least. It was very tasty and we simply ate too much. I decide to go with the Chilean Sea Bass. When asked what garnishment I would prefer I asked them to bring me the best one. The server went a step further by bringing a side of each so that I would be completely satisfied. The sea bass was cooked perfectly and the small order was plenty. Unfortunately I was stuffed by the time I got to the sides. My wife ordered the bang bang shrimp tacos. I did get an opportunity to sample them and would order this dish again. My wife was pleased as well. My favorite addition to the meal was our server's quest for us to enjoy the evening. Bang Bang Shrimp is a must! The one thing I have to have no matter which Bonefish Grill I dine at is the bang bang shrimp. I'm addicted. They were great. I had been wanting to try the sea bass but hadn't been brave enough to pay that much for a fish that I wasn't sure I would like. The only time I had eaten it was made at home and I didn't really care for it. Our wonderful waiter, Derrik, assured me that I should try it. He said it was very good. Of course he was also tempting the table with seasonal specials that came with a side of pumpkin ravioli. I took Derrik's advice and ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with chimichurri sauce and asparagus. He was right it was wonderful. I tried the Bonefish martini for the first time also and it was good. There were two or three servers taking care of our table since there were 16 in our party. There was one server in particular that was either in a bad mood or having a really bad night. She completely ignored the gentleman in our party that was paying for the check. She took everyone's drink order except his. We finally got another server to bring him a drink. She was also rude to the servers working with her through the entire meal. She must have been over them or something because she was handing them things to take to the kitchen and telling them what they needed to do next. We decided to walk in and see if we can get something earlier. We waited at the bar area and found a seat about 15 min later which worked out perfectly. Our waitress was gracious and took our orders quickly. Starters: - Bang bang shrimp - if I had to get any appetizer, this would definitely be the one. Packed with flavor and leaves your mouth wanting for more. - Ahi Tuna - this was slightly seared on the outside with sesame seeds and the inside was a perfect sashimi. Drinks: - Red sangria - very refreshing and not overly strong. One of their best drinks and I saw a lot of people ordering this. Entree: - Mahi Mahi - served with mashed potatoes, broccoli and I was able to choose 3 different sauces (mango salsa, lime garlic and I think there was a soy one). Their mash potatoes are by far the best I have ever eaten, I just wanted to eat a mountain of it. Dessert: - Macadamian brownie - served with vanilla ice cream and whip cream. This was just ok, but if you like your brownie fudgy, then you should order this. This place was very busy, but the hospitality was on point. I was really sad to see that this Bonefish did not have mahi mahi!! ALSO, my absolute favorite thing is the hypnotiq martini, because it is delicious and glows....but they were out of glow sticks. My family and I went to eat a birthday meal. First they forgot my grandson's order. Then after eating they presented our check. I gave them a card. Soon the waitress came back saying they could not takes checks right now. Remember their facility was becoming full. She said they had no way to do anything but wait or take cash. Bonefish Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in the Murfreesboro area. If you're a seafood fan like myself, you'll enjoy their menu filled with tasty offerings such as Ahi Tuna "Tokyo Style" which is served with Asian vegetables and Jasmine rice; Diablo Shrimp Fettuccine served with tomatoes, capers, onion and spinach in a garlic cream sauce; and the ever-so-favorite of all time that I don't know why other restaurants don't make something like this - Bang Bang Shrimp, which is crispy shrimp tossed in a spicy sauce. It's so simple, yet so delicious! In fact, my co-workers and I constantly take advantage of their Wednesday special, $5 appetizers and drink specials. "That'll be six Bang Bang Shrimp appetizers please!" For $5!? Let me go ahead and get two! Bonefish also has one of the best pomegranate martinis. I could order it by the pitcher! Overall, I love Bonefish Grill. We once celebrated my husband's birthday there and I wanted to surprise him with Julia's Bakery cupcakes. Our server was so helpful in making it a surprise. She commissioned other servers to bring out one cupcake each with a candle in it. It was so neat to see eight servers carrying a single lit cupcake to our table. My husband felt so special. It is worth going to try. I got it without all the glaze bbq because I knew that didn't sound so hot. So recommend is order it again. People come for the romantic atmosphere. It's a classy yet comfortable dining room. Get the house salad, or caesar salad. The wood-fired fish is served half-raw on the inside, the way I like it. The most recent was yesterday, just s random Wed because we were in the area. Arrived at 5 PM, got sat right away. Server recommended bang bang shrimp since it was half off that night - win! I've been to Bonefish twice and each time was my anniversary. We were just there June 6th and the staff was attentive, fun and knowledgeable. The bang bang shrimp is a must for starters. The Lemondrop is my favorite cocktail and the fettucini is delish! My husband had filet mignon which was to die for! Great bar, dining area is comfortable and inviting. Good for groups too! My wife and I went here last night to celebrate our anniversary. The waitress was really nice. We ordered the bang bang shrimp for our appetizer which was amazing. For our entrees, my wife had the salmon with mac and cheese and I had the shrimp and scallops. I took a bite of the shrimp looked down and noticed a hair on my scallops. After that, my meal was ruined. The manager came over and apologized offered to replace it and took off my entree and appetizer. This was my first time eating here and had heard so many good things about it. I might give this place another try later but for now, one star is all I can give. read more

I remember coming here with a friend once and he and I sat there talking about when we were younger and all the good times we had. I glance across the dining room and see a couple of elderly gentlemen eating together. "That's us in about ten years", I said. He says, "That's a mirrored wall." We have been here numerous times. Practically every visit was enjoyable. There was that period of time when they changed the presentation of the Bang Bang Shrimp and started serving it on a miniscule bed of greens. Before, it was served on a heaping helping of a salad mixture. While intended as an appetizer - along with the proffered bread - it was really a good meal. They do change up the menu often to keep it fresh. Certain items are always offered, but try not to get too attached to some of them. Sometime back they had a Shrimp Pad Thai that my wife and I shared and it was phenomenal! It disappeared from the menu. Lo and behold - it reappeared! I was so excited - knew exactly what to order! First time it was near perfect! Noodles cooked perfectly - presentation was great with 3 small bowls of peanuts and 2 types of sauce. This time...not so good. Gummy noodles with no evidence of sauce and/or peanuts - overly salty. I should have sent it back. Another misfire - this was the same night I got the yuck Pad Thai - birthday party of 11. Reservations accepted on a Friday night at 5:30. Not too crowded anyway, so why not. This is absolutely the first meal I have ever been disappointed with at Bonefish. They really need to start working on their presentation. Wife ordered shrimp and scallop kabob with crab fried rice and the seasonal veggie was quinoa. She said the seafood and rice was really good, but the portion size was small for a $21 entrée and the quinoa was pitiful. Plus it was presented in all its smallness on a huge white plate giving it the appearance of being even smaller. Same with two other orders of the salmon steak. There was a glitch in the service as well that night. Two in the party had their entrée delivered mistakenly to an adjacent table - AND THEY KEPT IT!! I'm pretty sure they didn't order the same thing! Maybe they had been waiting too long as well and thought this might be their last good chance to eat. We had all finished eating by the time the mistake was figured out and delivered their meals only to have them pack it to go. To their credit management did deduct it from the tab. Funny story - my secretary at the time, who can best be described as cheap (I say she is a thief), wanted to try Bonefish because of how much I liked it. Let me set the stage first - I don't think she has paid for a meal - fast food or otherwise - in awhile. Or she has paid ONLY to complain regardless of the fact that there was nothing wrong with her meal to begin with. Most places simply would send her gift cards or vouchers in the amount of the price paid or more "for her troubles". Sometimes she would complain, especially at fast food restaurants EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD NOT EATEN THERE! I have found numerous vouchers and such on here desk from a variety of different restaurants. I have heard her complaining on the phone about bad service or "absolutely horrible" food. She has been retired for almost two years and I STILL receive coupons from Captain D's in the mail because she complained she didn't get them in local circulars and papers. Well, she calls Bonefish and tells them about how much I recommended them and how it was one of my favorite places and how she would like to try it, but couldn't afford the menu prices. I can't remember who she spoke with, but he thanked her and asked her my name. Feeling she had accomplished her goal and was just this one question away from a freebie, she gave him my information.He told her he would issue a $50 meal credit - FOR ME!
