It's ok. The blue cheese coleslaw is yummy. They have a nice BBQ sauce and hot sauce, but the portions are skimpy. I realize you pay for quality, but their brisket plate ($15) is seriously 2-3 thin slices of brisket. Which is fine for a small or even lunch portion, but that's the dinner portion. What is wrong with the baked beans at this place? They are gross. Read some other reviews, lighter fluid and kerosene are common descriptors. The prime rib was fine. I wouldn't call it "award winning," though. There was hair in my cheesy potatoes. Look, I understand a strand slips through every now and then. Normally I just pull it out and keep eating. After 10 hairs I stopped counting and threw out the whole bowl. Do they have a disgruntled Sasquatch preparing food in the back? I wouldn't blame them based on how I saw the manager treat their staff. She berated the teenage waiter for "reaching across the table" to put down my food tray. Then I heard her gossiping with another patron about how "stupid" their other employee was for "dating that trailer trash repair man." How unprofessional can you get? Super disappointed in this place. It came with high recommendations and has nice decor. Unfortunately extremely mediocre food, lack of basic sanitation, and rude management ruin it. Solid BBQ joint in the little town of Midland, MI. If had had never experienced the BBQ perfection at places like Union Woodshop (Clarkston) and Lillie's Q (Chicago), this place would have likely gotten an extra star or 2. I had the sampler plate with Ribs and Brisket. Both were fine, but nothing special that I remember. I was extremely excited for the Blue Cheese potato salad, unfortunately, it was not quite as good as I anticipated. Great BBQ done by an award winning cook. And in this part of Michigan it's about the only decent BBQ you can get. Ribs, chicken, brisket and sausage are great but my favorite is the pulled pork. Probably my favorite pulled pork. Amazing beans and decent corn bread. They have very weird hours that seem to change so I would definitely call ahead to make sure they are open. Sometime they close early when they run out of food since it takes so long to smoke something. I was there when they closed early and it looked like they had run out of ribs so they turned off their open sign and let us eat while they began cleaning their kitchen. Finally got a chance to try their prime rib special which is available most Saturday evenings. O.M.Gosh! It was the best I've ever had, by far! So tender and juicy with just the right amount of seasoning. The sides of grilled veges, and cheesy potatoes were a wonderful addition. Very reasonably priced also! The barbecue here is about the worst I've ever had. Granted, there is not a lot to choose from in the area, thus the good reviews. If you've ever been to Tennessee, Texas, or Kansas City and had good barbecue, you know. Meats are too fatty and have too much gristle. There's also way too much smoke in the beans and sauce. We get their BBQ sauce from the store all the time and love it. Decided to give this place a try tonight and was very disappointed. The pulled pork and brisket were mostly fat. The flavor was good but the texture from all the fat really turned me off to it. My ribs were delicious but my wife's were too tough. On top of all this, everything was luke warm. I thought the beans were good at first but the more I ate the more I tasted grease or fat in the sauce. I couldn't even finish them. The only save was the corn bread muffin. Very good, and I'm glad it came with two. I may have just gone on a bad night or something but for now, I won't be recommending this to anyone. read more

I had to visit a few times before I could give them an honest rating. It definitely deserves 5 stars! All of their choices of meat are outstanding. My favorite has been Bone Daddy's Favorite which is a pile of thick sliced brisket served on a bun but good luck eating it like a sandwich. Second favorite was their Smoked Turkey. It was smoked to perfection and full of flavor. The Smokehouse Beans are a great side. They must smoke those for hours as well because their is so much flavor. I was served the Blue Cheese Coleslaw by mistake rather than regular but I am glad that happened, that is definitely my go-to side from now on. I have used their BBQ sauce a few times as home and it is right on the money with all aspects of what a sauce should be, just the right amount of sweet, tang, smoke, spice, and thickness. I have to warn you though, you will come out of their smelling of smoked BBQ but honestly who wouldn't expect that from a true BBQ joint?! read more

Dear god. The beans...the BEANS! This place is awesome. All of their sides are pretty lackluster but the actual BBQ and their baked means more than make up for some out-of-the-deli potato salad or boxed corn muffin mix. Their sauce has a lil' bit of heat and is very nicely balanced as far as the spicy/sweet/vinegar triangle goes. I can see why they're sitting on so many awards. A total gem! Food tasted delicious - we had the sampler and if we have to choose our favorite, we have to say the brisket. YUM! Also, I'm an onion rings fan and theirs was crunchy and cheap, like $1.80 cheap. Too bad I was too full to order a 2nd serving of those O-Rings. Everything was pretty good. There was a sign that said, "Beware, Men are Cooking" but everyone who was back in the kitchen were women. My favorite here were actually the cornbread and the beans. The best BBQ I've had in Michigan! They caught my attention while watching a tv show about "Best Ribs in the Midwest", where they had won some competition. And since they're not too far away, I pledged to try it out the next time I was anywhere near. Well worth the trip! I tried the sampler and every bit was stellar. Is Bonedaddys closed down or on hiatus? So what's the deal with Bonedaddys? A while back I noticed that their website is dead and now the place has been closed for over a week. The big sign is still advertising from the Superbowl week. They were normally closed on Sunday and Monday but their neon signs were always lit up inside the windows. Don't come here expecting a copy of another regional style - Bone Daddy's is uniquely Midwestern. Their menu is simple and the dining is casual. Their food is consistent, and delicious. Hands-down, the tri-tip their best, when it's available, but the brisket is my go-to choice here. I really appreciate the no frills style. read more

I absolutely love this restaurant! They're BBQ sauce is great and everything is always hot and fast. Its very smokey BBQ which I love. You can tell that the brisket has been smoking for hours its super juicy and tender. The prices are great too! Two people can get more than a full meal for $15! The ribs are fantastic. The brisket is below average and the pork (while good) has way too much sauce for my taste, but the ribs are as good as you'll find anywhere.
