Went here on a Wednesday after work around 3 pm and place was nice but I wasn't the biggest fan of the food. Couple things. Food took 16 min after I ordered which is fine for a restaurant but not for tacos. I got the chicken apple taco and the pulled pork taco. The chicken apple taco was fine, I wish the apples brought more flavor instead of just the texture. Now the pulled pork bbq taco I was looking forward to since I really like bbq pulled pork. The pulled pork taco didn't have much pulled pork and was mostly sauce, the avocado cream was way overpowering and abundant where sometimes you would just get a bite of avocado, and the bbq sauce was barely there, wish there was more I could add myself on the table. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this place was! I ordered a Hawaiian chicken taco and the poutine. I know, weird combination but I saw they had poutine on the menu and really wanted it. The taco ingredients were very flavorful and fresh - the size was actually pretty big - more like a size between a taco and a burrito. The price was cheap for the portion size. I really liked the flavors. The poutine was awesome - good gravy and melted cheese curds. Barquebc is a must when you're visiting Bay City! As you walk up to the store front, they have a large "patio" for outdoor seating. The inside has plenty of seating for even the busiest of days downtown. The menu is hard to choose from because everything looks so darn good! The service was friendly and fast, and I was far from disappointed. I ordered the Brisket Quesadilla and the Chicken Apple Taco! My only recommendation would be if you're a BBQ place clashing with Mexican is to put out BBQ sauce or hot sauce on the tables. Been here a few times over the past year and it fails to disappoint. Had almost every food item even the the one I didn't like which was a pineapple mushroom taco I can respect it because I can at least I can recommend it to someone who likes that type of food. Beyond that everything looks and smells nice and it's crazy that a place owned by (no offense) white people are doing better than most Mexican places not mad just baffled and ashamed. I decided to try the brisket taco. At $8 or $9 each it was pretty pricey. One wasn't enough to fill me up. I wasn't about to order a second overpriced taco. I prefer to support local places, but within reason. The portions are too small for the amount they're charging. I'd expect $30 per person. Maybe have it 3 tacos for 20 to make it more reasonable If they started offering pulled pork or brisket separately, that might increase business for people who don't want a taco. I'm scared how much they'd charge per pound. Personally I'd much rather go to mission bbq (their flagship store is only a few miles from my house) or smoke my own meats. read more

They're loaded with Parmesan and seasonings and they give you a heaping basket full. It's not cheap but I also wouldn't call it expensive. Decent pricing for unique food. Yum. So yum. Two of us have celiac disease, and we were thrilled that they have so many gf options. My daughter loved the gf Mac n cheese and we appreciated that they paid so much attention to detail that they even had gf breadcrumbs on top. We watched them clean the area (without us asking!) where they made our food so there was no cross-contamination. I had the trough nachos with pulled pork and they were delicious. A gem of a place for killer tacos and one of my favorites overall in the bay city area. Delicious food with unexpected flavor combinations. Being from Philly, a real foodie city, I put this up there with some of the best casual food around. They don't serve traditional tacos in the sense of what I expected, but more so it's deliciously prepared meats & topping combinations delivered in tortillas. Their nachos with brisket cannot be missed. The ratio of toppings to chips is perfect - Do you know how awesome it is when you eat all of the chips and you still have toppings left but nothing left to scoop with? Their homemade chips are the perfect texture to withstand all of their toppings. This is a can't miss if you are in the area.
