Carlos keeps this place poppin, great vibes, great customer experience, accurate orders. Best Bonchon in Ma

Chicken with seasoning sprinkled on top.

I've ordered fried chicken from many places and usually it's very good, but this location was a huge disappointment. The chicken was completely unseasoned, and the way the staff handled my complaint made the experience even worse. I ordered fried chicken and immediately noticed it had no flavor at all--no seasoning in the breading or on the meat. When I complained, an employee named Elvis took the chicken to the back and simply sprinkled dry seasoning on top, then gave it back to me. The chicken was still unseasoned inside, with a layer of powder on the outside instead of the seasoning being cooked into the coating. I called back and spoke with Elvis again, and he told me they "don't season chicken," that they just fry it plain and add seasoning afterward. That might be their policy, but it resulted in bland, poorly prepared food and a careless fix when I raised the issue. Furthermore, when I asked to speak to the owner or a manager, he told me they weren't there and that he would pass along my message in a dismissive manner. I won't be returning to this location, especially when other places nearby serve properly seasoned fried chicken and take customer concerns more seriously. I spent $45 for this chicken to taste like that.

The last time I tried this place was when it first opened. I was most critical about the size of their wings. Fast forward a few years later. I've tried them twice in the past 2 weeks and the wings are normal sized now. Both times, I got take out. Wings were soy garlic and ngang yeam (I'm sure I misspelled that one). The flavor is good, wings are normal sized (finally) and it was enjoyable. The wings comes with option of daikon or cole slaw. Pricing is similar to BBQ Chicken, but this place offers the slaw option. I've updated my score to 4 stars....more like 3.75 but I'll lean towards 4. The front desk is super slow. I paid with cash and it genuinely looks like a chore for them to punch it in and get me change.

Boneless in front, bone-in legs and wings in back

I'm a hifalutin wings and Asian food snob and used to think Bonchon was just okay, but the wings and legs really impressed me today. Wings: Very crisp, still light, and the plump chicken flavor and tenderness came through. Kinda juicy. Legs: Not as crisp, but crisp, and the plump chicken flavor and tenderness came through even more. Exceptionally juicy. And a higher quality leg than you typically see. Boneless: Extra bumpy crunch, not as thin as the wings and legs, and noticeably drier than the wings and legs. Good flavor. Pork Belly Bao: Not bad; crisp, kinda tasty, but small size of protein got lost in the bao bun, so not sure if $5 per is a good value. Not sure if mayoey generic American coleslaw is a fitting condiment, but they're a lot more successful than I am. Onion Rings: Nothing Korean about them, although maybe they're not trying to be. Either way, seemed like standard issue industrial strength frozen. Sauces: Well done. The soy garlic not too dominant in either direction. The Korean original sort of bbq and sort of chili. The hot and spicy was indeed hot and spicy. But not to be lost: VERY good bone-in chicken. And while some have said they're a little pricey, the large size legs and wings combo worked out to about $1.49 per wing piece and $2.49 per leg, which for good size pieces and in today's economy strikes me as a good deal. Modern space, comfortable seating, frequent water refills. If I'm only looking wings and kegs, a solid 4.

Wings were crispy and spicy and on the smaller size, not much to rave about. $15+ for fried rice with teeny bits of bulgogi is a bit much. At least it was tasty. 10 wings+ 2 beers + bulgogi fried rice=$71.

wings were yummy

So let me start by saying I love Bonchon. I really do. We normally go to the one in Lowell. It's a little bit closer to us, but we wanted to try the location in Waltham for a change. Because it was newer. This location? It just isn't... Right. We got there on a Saturday at like 6 o'clock. You know, normal dinner time on a Saturday night? I'll be at a bit early. There was no one else in the restaurant. I saw three bags ready for takeout, and during our meal, it looks like people order more at for takeout or food delivery than actually eating in this restaurant. Their presentation was better than the other bunch on we go to. But that's where it ends. It looks like it used to maybe be a sub shop. The decorations on the wall Are kitschy , and the whole place just looked like it really needed a good cleaning. The waitress was very nice, but I think there was even a language barrier there. Or she just didn't care what we were saying. You know how you joke a little with the waitress when they come by? We tried. She stared at us blankly. She didn't get her order correct as well. We had asked for half-and-half flavors on our potstickers. And she brought us the wrong flavors. Still good, because it's a Bonchon, but not what we asked for. We also didn't get any pickled radish with our meal what you do get it lol. Nothing other than just the wings. I thought that was a little odd. I just don't think this one is going to last. Someone else commented in a previous review that it's like a amped up KFC. This location was just KFC with different flavors.

Sweet!

Best Chicken Wings, Hands Down, Crisp, Large, Spicy, Delicious. My sauce is the spicy garlic, but the soy version is good as well. Lunch special was 5 wings for 5 Bucks, ordered the Radish cubes as a side (need to cool the heat) Excellent stop. Chef came out, was very hospitable.

Staff were patient and accommodating. Food wasn't bad. Place was clean. I had the sliders and the tenders. Nothing really stood out as wow but nothing stood out as terrible. I would recommend but wouldn't be at the top of my list.

Bonchon. What can I say. I was extremely excited to have a taste of Korea again in Waltham Massachusetts. Instead, I was met with soggy Costco leftovers with a hint of disappointment. The food was awful and lackluster. It reminds me of what life would be in the retirement home when my knees don't work and I cannot remember what I did yesterday. I am sad now. Never again. This restaurant will remind me forever what it is like to wither away much like being silently rejected by a beautiful woman.

Looking for crunchy fried chicken? This is the best. Casual & comfortable place. Service was very slow, understaffed- everyone waiting: only one person serving five tables... host seemed to be working in the kitchen. Actual menu prices differ from the online Yelp menu.

Beef Bulgogi
Ashley M.

The staff was friendly in helping me decide what to eat. The food was delicious. The beef bulgogi was savory and slightly sweet. I loved the mushroom and sautéed onion. I'll be going back to try more items on their menu. I really enjoyed my late dinner there.

May 15, 2026 I'm…read morewriting this a week retrospectively from my experience, since I've been through a few things medically in the last week and needed time to think about our family's experience at Karma-Burlington. First - our server, Kendra A. Was really good and kind. She worked hard for the 7 of us and my few criticisms don't reflect on her at all. First - let me say that Karma/Burlington is not set up properly for large parties. Our table was located right next to the kitchen door. It is neither a gracious nor a comfortable place to have a large dinner together. Secondly, the table was both too narrow and not long enough to accommodate people and large plates of food. In other words, it was cramped and because of that, not nearly as welcoming as it could have been. Third - the music in the restaurant is obnoxious. It was always on the edge of being too loud and it's directed at a younger crowd .... People who either don't care about assaults on their hearing or who don't care about being able to have meaningful conversations at moderate levels. Now... let's talk about the food. Generally, it was really good, though their Pu-Pu platter for two sucks for the price ($37.00 each). There were no egg-rolls on it, only two fried shrimp, a stack of boneless Chinese rib pieces, and some chicken fingers - which were overly breaded and not worth eating. I also counted four crabs Rangoon pieces on each platter. Not exactly a generous offering!! I'd definitely skip this appetizer next time. Now - we chose, as a family, to eat communally - passing plates around and sharing everything. I've attached the photo of the receipt, so that you can see what we ordered. Three plates stood out as exceptional: the Coffee-braised short ribs were really delicious. Fattening, but amazing. The second was the Beef with mixed vegetables - one of my perennial favorites at Karma. The third was the Mongolian Beef, which was tender, savory, and delicious. The Stir-fried Yee Mein was not memorable and I'd not order it again. My eldest daughter ordered the Philly Maki and the Cucumber and Avocado Maki. Both were good but very much not exceptional. A number of us ordered the Hot & Sour soup and it was very good - as it usually is. The soup was served piping hot and quickly, which made it a small delight. The service we received was good across the board and the restaurant cannot be faulted for how busy they were.... Which I have to say did not at all impact the quality of our meal. If you want to go to Karma-Burlington as a group, tell the manager that you do not want the table where we were! Other than my specific concerns, it was a very good experience and I'm happy we went.

That thoughtful touch really meant a lot to us. The food was excellent. We loved the sushi--fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The Yin Yang Chicken was a standout dish, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The drinks were also fantastic and paired really well with the food. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations for both food and drinks, which made ordering easy and enjoyable. Even though the restaurant was packed, the service never felt rushed. The atmosphere and ambiance were lively, vibrant, and perfect for a celebration. You could really feel the energy of the place. Overall, Karma was the perfect spot for a birthday dinner--great food, great service, and a great vibe. We'll definitely be back for future celebrations and nights out. Highly recommend!

My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Dipping the garlic naan in both sauces was my fav part!! Overall an ok experience. I want to give the restaurant grace because it was very packed but service was poor.
