One of the nicer bonchon's in this area of Maryland. The food took awhile to be made but was still faster than the one near the Anne Arundel mall. Staff was helpful. The restaurant has a lot of sports jerseys on the wall. A nice place to have some wings. Wings were crunchy. I recommend the soy garlic sauce over all their other sauces! They only have 1 staff in front and most tables are not clean yet but my fam and i thinks its okay lets clean tables for us got us bulgogi fries, half and half chicken, (umhhh yes soy was okay but the other half spicy... ohhh nooooooo cant even taste a spice on it! It's like full soy instead of half and half!) rice (of course!), bao buns and donuts. Yeah it took a while for our order to come in which is disappointing but i know staff are trying. The last time I had Bonchon was two years ago when I lived in Maryland and coming back for a visit I had to come. I came in during lunch and they have a special roughly between 11-3 (not accurate on the times). I ordered the 10 piece boneless wings, half spicy and soy garlic with a side of rice. (Roughly 13 dollars for the lunch special) Service was pretty quick as well! My order came out in about 10 minutes. The wings were SO SO GOOD just like I remembered. My favorite are the soy garlic wings. They are tangy, with a hint of sweetness. I love the spicy wings as well but be warned they are a bit hot. I took a while to finish them. The portion sizes are huge so I definitely had this for lunch and dinner! Overall, I was very pleased!!! I love Bonchon and will be back! read more

We keep coming back for the fried chicken, soy flavor is perfect. Restaurant has changed since the pandemic though. There's a bar but not in use. They serve sodas in cans. The dining room is self-serve and they give you paper plates and plastic utensils. You order at the counter like a fast food joint. Cashier informed us so no big deal. The order arrived at our table in a to-go bag and we served ourselves. The place was empty, lots of take outs though. The pickled radish was really nicely done. I was first introduced to Bonchon when I lived in Columbus Ohio (those locations are closed now). The chicken was crisp, saucy and delicious! After the locations closed, I was unable to get the beloved Korean chicken. I recently moved to Maryland and, lo and behold, there is a location less than 5 mins from me! Imagine my excitement. I gushed to my husband about how amazing the chicken is! It's located in a plaza that's easily accessible from the road. There is plenty of parking and there is curbside pick up. My husband and I ordered two 8-piece tender meals--one with fries and one with rice. I loved it with the rice while in Columbus because it was easy to sop up that wonderful soy garlic taste. Well... the strips were coated lightly. There was no extra sauce for the rice. The strips were... OK. They weren't as crispy as I had remembered and the soy garlic was lacking because they was barely any sauce. But, no worries! I told myself I'd just go get a cup of extra sauce on the side. I drove back to the location to be told NO and that the sauce is brushed on and is not given out. So, I am less than thrilled. My husband and I haven't been back since. He said that he enjoyed the taste and the fresh chicken but would have loved extra sauce too and a little bit more fried. My daughter and I visited this location on Tuesday last week. I had been to this location post-COVID and they had no begun sit-down service up to that point. We walked into the restaurant and it was pretty dead. The setup gave indications that sit-down service was still not offered, but we decided to wait in line as the person in front of us ordered takeout. When we got to the front, we asked if were able to sit down and the lone waiter/bartender/manager told us that we could, but we would need to come to the bar to order our food and drinks. My daughter and I have been to Bonchon several times over, so we knew what we wanted. We sat in the booth and quickly went over the menu to make sure that we still wanted the same thing. I went up and ordered our food and drinks. The worker then walked over with our drinks and our food followed 15-20 minutes later. We ordered potstickers, bone-in wings, steamed white rice and kimchee. I got the wings half and half (half soy garlic, half spicy). The food was as good as usual with the exception of the half spicy bone-in wings. The sauce on the spicy wings tasted like straight gochujang, which is a bitter tasting Korean chili paste. I've had these wings many times, and they have never tasted like this. While the food was good, I wasn't pleased with the paper plates, plastic forks, rice and kimchee served in to-go containers. It made us feel very unwelcome. Paying prior to the meal arriving also had us tipping for our food/service before being provided any food/service which is a bit if an issue. The lone person that was working the front of house was doing his absolute best to accommodate everyone. I have no issue there. I do have an issue with the owner of this location as they seem to be checked out and not really caring about the level of service that one person working the front of house provides. We have been post-COVID for a couple of years, depending on your definition, and it seems like it's just a convenient excuse to charge the same prices while providing poor service. If you're going to charge me $15 for 10 wings, they shouldn't be coming on a paper plate. It feels like the writing is on the wall for this location to go out of business which is a shame. They have amazing food but the level of service at this location (again, not due to the workers) is abysmal. read more

i have past this restaurant many times and never tried if so decided to check it out. the location i went to was takeaway only so i ordered ahead and picked up my togo order i ordered the kimchi and the veggie potstickers. 8 come in the order and you can get them plain or marinated in sauce; i choose to split so half plain and half is soy garlic sauce. the soy garlic sauce was really good and complimented the potstickers and the kimchi was very good overall good food and good flavor read more

Not sure what's up with this location. Ordered pick up and got there exactly at the time they sent the pick up order text to let them know I was there. Ordered 16 wings and the potstickers. The sauce on both are way off than usual. A bit sour. You can tell they don't double fry it here. The Columbia location I can save leftovers for lunch the next day and it's still crispy. On pickup the skin was flaking off and all soggy. Taste like some Buffalo Wild Wings. The food wasn't even warm at all, had to reheat in the microwave. I love bonchon and this one is nearby but I will continue making the drive to Columbia or Arundel location. The girl who brought out the order was nice. However, last time we ate here inside it seems like the workers just don't care. There was one who was on lunch eating at the bar playing movies/videos on his phone really loud. I've heard a lot about Bonchon and now I have a location close to home. They're mainly known for the Korean fried chicken which oddly, I didn't partake in during my visit. They have lunch specials which include a variety of items from their fried chicken to fried rice to Korean tacos. I decided to get the Korean tacos to go. I got the tacos with beef bulgogi and they were topped off with coleslaw and some type of sauce. I really enjoyed them. So far, a good experience and I look forward to returning to try other items on the menu, including the fried chicken. read more

I had never been to this chain before, but my fiancé likes Korean food and most Korean restaurants do not offer vegetarian options for me, so this has been a great regular restaurant for us! We've been a handful of times already, and he is always craving it. He always gets the bulgogi and I order the tofu bibimbap. I would've liked to try the noodle soup, but it has fish broth, so I can really only have either the bibimbap or fried rice (which I haven't tried). But I overhead from another table that the fried rice was just okay. Of course that's subjective though. The only thing that would make the tofu bibimbap better is if it came with a fried egg, like it normally does at other places. The first time I asked for a fried egg, they but scrambled pieces in my dish (and I was expecting it to be over easy), and the next time they gave me an over hard egg. So they can't seem to be consistent in how they give a fried egg which, in my experience, is always over easy in bibimbap. We also always order the kimchi and fries with spicy mayo as an appetizer and both are really good, especially the fries! It's also a pretty large serving. After all that and bibimbap, I easily get pretty full. It's a little pricey here and service can be pretty slow, so that's why they don't get 5 stars from me. It's also normally pretty cold in there (at least all the times I've been). The cool thing they have in there is the large projection where they sometimes will show a movie. It's without sound, so kind of pointless, but something cool to look at if you want some sort of distraction. Anyway, we'll most likely continue to come here whenever we're craving Korean food. read more

I've never had an issue with the service/staff/wait. They're always nice. Maybe a bit slow at times? I go when it's not busy or order online and pickup. The boneless chicken is the best texture I've had from trying Hanover, Columbia and Crofton. The tacos were kind of disappointing but this is a Korean place, so I'm not expecting fine Latin cuisine. Their slaw is okay albeit a bit soggy and overdressed. Fries were good although overpriced. Chicken was well-sauced and crispy. They get the food out quicker than any BonChon I've been to. Although the customer service was good, and the food tasted well cooked- the amount of meat in my bulgolgi (20 dollar meal) was significantly limited to only a few small bites. This is my second time getting food from here and this time something was off. I ordered the half and half wings but there was something lingering there. An aftertaste. . . . processed artificial sweetener or something. I don't know exactly what it was but it didn't taste quite right. I was so confused because I was craving this all day at work and told myself I'm going to reward myself and get some, right! I don't know what went wrong. I did read some recent reviews in which someone said they were inconsistent and I guess that's what I experienced. The first time I ate the wings, they were great! When I saw we had a new Korean place, I was excited to try it. Only took a month to make it here. The place is really nice on the inside. Comfy benches and a nice overall vibe. The bar was interestingly stocked. Good options for beer and wine and mixed drinks. I could see going for drinks and snacks. I got the japchae. Hubby got bulgogi. The kid got the popcorn shrimp. There were 3 empty plates. Really tasty all the way around. Was surprised that my kid ate the shrimp but he did. There are only 2 downsides. There is no kids menu. Even smaller portions of the regular options would be fine. The price is kind of steep. Having to pay $12 for shrimp for my kid is high but at least he ate it all. Definitely going back. The tacos and potstickers look awesome. Hubby wants the fried chicken. The portions we saw going by of that were huge. Seriously huge. So yay to find a new Asian place close to home with a menu that isn't intimidating. read more

I've always liked this location. I've dined in and ordered out multiple times with good experiences. First time dining in since COVID tonight. We arrived at 8:00pm, sign on the door says they are open til 10. We seat ourselves. We were told they were only serving canned sodas and no bar items. There was a neon written sign with cocktail specials but they weren't serving any bar drinks. We order our food and everything came out in to go containers. We had to ask for silverware and plates to which we were given paper plates and pre-packaged utensils. I was trying to be optimistic thinking maybe they closed and cleaned the bar since it was close to closing time. But when I was served all my food on paper goods that kind of sealed the deal for me. It was very apparent we were the end of night table that they didn't want to deal with. 3/28 got a response from management- apparently since the pandemic this location is on a "limited dine in" experience that the cashier should have informed me of upon entry. Essentially you are ordering carry out and choosing to eat it at the tables in the restaurant, they provide you with paper plates and plastic utensils. The cashier did not inform me of this or the party that came in 20 minutes after me. Had I been told this I definitely wouldn't have stayed. Good Times Bad Times at Bonchon - the not so good. Bonchon is busier than heck on the weekends. On the night I went, they were busy dealing with grubhub type deliveries, carry out, a seated dining area and, stunningly, a fully stocked bar with a couple of patrons. So, they were a little short staffed and the staff was dealing with a lot. This may have caused them to forget a part of my order. Got home and had to turn around to return over the course that my tread had already traversed to retrieve what was left out. - the $?. Maybe a little overpriced. Maybe not. - the good. This place is a joke. The girl that answers the phone is in over her head. If she's not hanging up on you, she sounds like taking a to go order is rocket science. She is costing this place business, especially mine. Reply to owner- their explanation was totally exaggerated. After she hung up on me, I called back and she acted like she was either high or had no idea how to take an order, I replied "WTF is going on over there?" That was the only curse word I uttered and I was very cordial when placing my order and after hence why she took my order. Your "manager" then called me back to tell me my order was cancelled before hanging up on me once again. This is not the first time I as well as people I know have had issues placing a to go order at this location. The food is good, it is quite expensive for what you get. $15 for chicken, no side. I have noticed at this particular location, the food has gone down hill over time. Perhaps as others mentioned they aren't double frying, not adding enough sauce etc. I've gotten carry out many times and prefer to get lunch ($2-3 cheaper and includes a side) but the other day we stopped in on a weekend and decided to "dine in". They do not offer the lunch deal on weekends- dumb. The staff was "nice" but extremely unprofessional. I don't expect much from a fast casual restaurant but I guess you get what you pay for in this sense. The vibes are wayyyy off. Half of the tables and chairs are stacked up in the back corner. They have tables pushed together at the bar to create a hostess station with a bell to ring for service. The staff just hangs out in the kitchen until they are needed. When you're ready to order you ring the bell, they take your order, you tip, and then you go have a seat. The soda fountain machine was "broken" so you have to get a 12oz can. Not sure how that works for their alleged full service bar. If you'd like a cup of water, you'll be buying a 16oz deer park water bottle instead. Again, not sure how a full service bar cannot serve a cup of water. If you chose to "dine in" your food comes in all to-go containers and the staff will bring you plastic ware and soy sauce packets. The young adults running the place made it very clear they'd prefer all carry out orders and definitely made us feel like a burden for even ordering food in the first place. Although the food was fine (it is a chain after all) the staff and ambiance inside definitely ruin a good thing. I've never had a problem with the quality of food at the other locations, but for the first time, my soy garlic wings came out overcooked, burnt with salty skin with bland inside meat. It was so salty, I could only eat 2 pieces and had to down several cups of water. I ordered pickled radish, but received cole slaw. The order was placed ahead of time (about 20 minutes) for pick up, but they didn't start making it until we got there, had to wait another 20 there.
