The long-awaited Bon Chon is finally open! I feel like I've been waiting for this for over a year now so definitely glad I finally got to try it! The wings are really really good, I can't decide which sauce I like better; they're both great in their own way. The spicy sauce is definitely pretty spicy and flavorful but it burns my lips a bit more than I would like. The soy garlic is a great flavor but more on the salty side. Either way, they're both pretty addicting. They're still in their soft opening stages (as of when I visited) but hopefully will soon be open on weekends too! read more

We stopped here in a whim on our way home from the mall.. my husband is not a person who experiments with food. The place was empty. The lady taking our to go order was not helpful she seemed impatient with my questions.. needless to say I read the menu.. we ordered chicken. Seafood fried rice my husband loved the chicken and Kimchi coleslaw he was not crazy about the fried rice but I thought it was delicious.. my only complaint was the unfriendly hostess.. Finally open and as tasty and well executed as the other locations we've been to in California. Seasoning and crunch of potato starched chicken cooked to order is very well done. Wasn't too crowded at noon on Saturday. Opened at 11.30. Most patrons take a bit at the counter to decide since they're not familiar, so maybe having some menus at the door so they can peruse instead of blocking counter space would help. Service was quick, getting our chicken to us in just 10 minutes. A great taste of Los Angeles in Jersey. Only minor irritation is that the pickled radish was weirdly cut into the normal cubes but then a lot of slivers too. read more

This place was highly recommended to me in the area. The chicken was good, not like authentic Korean barbecue I've had in the past in the city. It's more like the fast food food version of Korean bbq. It was really sweet and greasy. I got the pork buns and the pork was frozen which was discussing and really disappointing. The food was very disappointing. The rice we got tasted ok when we first got it hot but as it cooled off it had a very strange after taste. We tried a couple flavors of wings. The hot was painfully hot with no great flavor. I live hot wings but the flavor of the sauce should make you want more. These were ridiculously hot but had no good flavor. The following is a timeline of a one star review. 5:04pm - Place order on website with a 5:45pm pickup time 5:05pm - my credit card gets charged 5:23pm - get email confirmation of order (bonchon must have really slow computers) 5:35pm - get call saying the appetizer I ordered is out of stock. At this time I was told the order would be ready in 10 minutes 5:45pm - go to the store to pick up the order but the order isn't ready 5:55pm - the order is still not ready (but every customer that comes in is told their food will be ready in 15 minutes) 6:07pm - my order is finally ready but without getting refunded for the out of stock appetizer Five days later I'm still waiting for the refund. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was filled with customers eating in and picking up orders to go. I was impressed by the amount of seating this place offered. The service was relatively quick. You simply go up to the cashier to place your order and they will deliver the food to you. I shared a bulgogi taco and 20 piece soy garlic bone-in wings. The size of the portions and the flavors were good. I would only suggest that the plastic silverware was not effective when it came to eating the bone-in wings. I really want to like this place but they are making it hard to do that. I fell in love with the food based on their Jersey City location so I was very excited when they came to Parsippany where I live. I went the week after their soft open and they did not have a lot of the menu items which is understandable. However the next time I went was a couple weeks later at 8:30 and they had nothing but chicken strips. I went tonight at 8:40 and again "we only have chicken strips". I was fortunate to get there at lunch time and their wings are very good!! Just very disappointed to go there and walk away empty handed multiple times. Ordered a takeout on 09/05 for large wings. Came home about 10 minutes later and realized I didn't get pickled radish which the menu clearly states its included. I called and asked why it wasn't included and the cashier told me I had to ask for it. Never in my experience with other Bonchon this has happened. The chicken is way different from other Bonchon. The Asian guy looked like he really didn't want to be there. He took my payment and saw me sitting in front of him. The food came out and he didn't even let me know. We are extremely disappointed of the services rendered to us, with my partner. We ordered 5:10PM for a dine-in and have not received our order until 6 PM. I looked at mobile orders and the point of sale ranges to 5:20-5:30 PM. It is clearly the carelessness of Parsippany employees to made us wait for nothing. I asked refund at 6:00 and did not get any apologies. I expressed my dissatisfaction and frustration in a professional way. I am also well aware that these people are hardworking but they should prioritize who ordered first or in sequence, and not jumping to the one who ordered the last. I hope that this will serve a lesson to the Parsippany location. If they can not handle customers, I would gladly accept their refusal than waiting for the food that would not be processed. read more

Bonchon KFC is good. It could be addicting. But beware that it takes at least 20 minutes to cook up the chicken. As a newly opened location, they are very busy. Twice I tried take out, twice the food came out approx. 20 minutes later than the estimates given. That's a long wait! And don't forget to ask for radish as they may not give to you if you don't ask. So I would order at least 40 minutes before you arrive there. Even dining in, I would preorder before you go there. It's not a quickie in and out place. They have good lunch specials but you don't want to spend the entire lunch time waiting for the food. So order ahead or you will be waiting, and waiting, and waiting. read more

Honestly this was one of the worst experiences I've had Anywhere. My friend and I got there at 8:10 and finished our order to go at 8:13. We were told a 15min wait. At 8:28 we were told our order was canceled because the kitchen didn't want to make it and the "best" they could do is refund us. I won't be back to this location. That is not ok that the "best" that could be done is to not charge us for food we weren't given. We weren't even given an apology. Maybe it's because they just opened, or maybe because I arrived 30 min before their early 7:00 closing time (the door says 8:30 but they are currently easing into that schedule), but the wait was longer than expected for a somewhat-fast food place. The customer service was terrible. We called twice to confirm that they were open (since we were coming from a bit far). The lady on the phone assured us they were. When we got there, of course, they were closed. There were employees inside. A gentleman came to the door and gruffly said.. "We are closed."
