Size of a "chicken wing" relative to a Quarter

Before Covid, bon chon was absolutely amazing. High quality, affordable Korean fried chicken in generous portions. That is no longer the case. Within the past six years, the wing sizes have shrunk significantly to the point of embarrassing (see photo), the prices for the chicken wings have drastically increased, and to top it off, is that no ranch is provided with each order of chicken anymore. I just got home after spending over $70 for my family of four and was tried to be "rang up," after for asking for three cups of ranch with my two orders of chicken and one order of pot stickers. After saying, "I'm spending $70 on dinner tonight for four people and you don't provide a single ranch with each meal item?" To which the cashier replied, "we don't do that anymore." Well now I don't order bon chon anymore. The amount of money you've lost from this repeat customer, feeding a family of four no less, is more money than you would have "lost" by providing ranch with the overpriced meal. Not to mention my reaction to the disgraceful "chick" wings (again, see photo) in my order upon getting home with my carry-out order. Me, nor anyone in my family, will be returning to bon chon ever again. It's a real shame what corporate greed does to a great business. I'd give 0/5 stars if I could.

I would rate Bonchon as "Okay, when drunk" for a wings place. It was my first time having anything from Bonchon, and I had it delivered. This is important because of the sides I got. Generally, when you're getting something for delivery, you don't want to order fries because anything thats supposed to be crispy just ends up a soggy mess... I found out later that their fries are amazing, and i might have to give them another shot. I ordered 10 pc Wings, Half & Half. Half (5) Soy Garlic and Half (5) Plain. For my side, because of the above-mentioned issue, I had to get coleslaw. As an additional item, I got some extra Ranch Dressing. I wasn't too impressed with their packaging. If anyone here has ever delivered food, or has a shred of sense, will know - CARDBOARD is the worst for heat retention and prevention of build of moisture... I have no idea why Bonchon chooses to use cardboard packaging for items they know will need to stay as dry and crispy as possible, but it was a horrible choice, and needs to be changed. Let's start with the smallest items.. The ranch dressing was bland and simply generic, and had a very very runny consistency to it, to the point that if you dipped your wing into the ranch, it was running off like a waterfall before you could get it to your mouth. Next the coleslaw - I'm not a huge fan of coleslaw, to be fair, but when I smelled this coleslaw and tried a bit of it, I could tell that it was amazing and anyone who likes coleslaw would love this stuff... It smelled and tasted fresh and vibrant. Finally - the main part of the whole meal - The chicken wings! Sadly, I didn't enjoy these wings as much as everyone had hyped them up to... The plain wings were just that - PLAIN. No salt. No pepper. No ANYTHING. Literally a wing, dipped in un-flavored batter, and dipped into oil. They were quite greasy on the inside, under all the batter shell. It was so bland that it was depressing! I had a hard time even finishing the ones I had because they were bland, and the runny-ranch didn't do much to help it! The soy garlic wings were what saved this place slightly... They were decently good, and had a great flavor to them... They were a bit heavy on the flavor to the point that the chicken didn't get a chance to live up to it's glory, and was fully masked by other flavors.. The exterior of the wings for both the soy garlic and the plain wings had an amazing crunch to them, and was what I always imagine fried wings will come out as... It's just sad that this place's food couldn't live up to the hype-level it was boosted to... It's not as bad as some of the local wing places I've been to and I might try it again for another opinion, but for now I'll leave it near the bottom of the list. My top favorites will still be Pizza Time, and Wingstop.

Overall decent. Casual lunch/dinner place to go to , and great service. Food was okay!

Your team member server: L500 was extremely rude this afternoon when I picked up my order. Issue: I had a coupon on my phone that needed to be redeemed and showed to the cashier; I showed him the coupon and with a condescending and rude tone your cashier (L500) ( the boy with the light Green dyed hair and feminine voice) kept telling me with rude gestures and tone that I needed to input the coupon info on the tablet. Ps: the coupon had no number, it only needed to be showed which is what I explained to him but he kept being aggressive and some making rude gestures and attempted to argue. I asked him for an extra bbq sauce and even offered to pay and responded by saying with a condescending tone that "the store does not GiVE out sauce to customers". I left the store immediately to avoid any escalation. I am writing this formal complain for you to RE-TRAIN your employee to treat his customers with respect. A lot of us would not tolerate any disrespect especially when we spend our hard-earned money in the store. I will not come back in your store until this employee is re-trained or someone with better customer service skills is hired.

Bonchon is one of my favorite chicken spots. Went with a friend to NOVA and we made a pit stop to eat. The service was good we just ordered at the counter and seated ourselves. They brought the food out in a bag as if it were "to-go" and you got paper plates and plastic utensils. We shared a 16pc chicken strip and got sides of white rice and daikon radish. It was all fresh and delicious. The ambiance was as nice as well, it was clean and it was also empty inside. It was cute and enjoyable. Would definitely return again!

Tried this place and was not disappointed. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I had the bibimbap with bulgogi and the pork puns. The portion size for both was very generous and the flavors were phenomenal. Will definitely be back for more.

I always enjoy "crack" chicken from this place. The soy garlic is, "Oh so good." I cannot eat the hotter flavors, but I know that they are popular. Another good dish is the fried rice which is made with the best ingredients including egg! Lots of flavor and plenty of rice. It's worth getting and you can get a great deal during lunch time. The chicken strips are delicious and the kimchi coleslaw is delicious. I like the radish too. The inside of the restaurant is always clean and plenty of seats. The bar is humongous and they have korean beers and bottled sodas. Everyone is extremely nice, they have a rewards program ( I always have a time logging in at the counter, but you can get texts) and great lunch specials. I warn you, once you start eating this chicken, you won't stop coming back.

Lunch specials... can't lose! I had leftovers for sure for the next day!

This is my spot! They are ALWAYS polite and when I order take out, they always offer me a water while I wait. Friday, I decided to take my sister there since she was visiting and wanted something different. We ate in which was my first experience as well dining in. Our waitress was good and the food was awesome. The lunch specials do not dissapoint and neither does the food. Fresh and hot... I always usually get the wings half and half and they have good coleslaw. The bulgogi fried rice with is everything! I just love bulgogi it is mixed in and it isn't a tease like eating shrimp fried rice or something it's really mixed in perfectly.

Best wings in town! Excellent Bibimbap. The chicken katsu Isa is also a favorite. Only take out right now but I can't blame them for that.

We went on a Sunday for lunch, so it wasn't packed and that's how we like it. Our waiter was so nice. He gave us a gadget to press a button whenever we needed him. I thought, "I need one of these at home." LOL. Anyways, this is an all you can eat restaurant, so we ordered a little at a time and our waiter cooked our food. We started with miso soup, kimchi and salad. Then we tried most of their sides, fried vegetable dumplings (crisp to perfection), corn cheese (the cheese pull on this), rose deokbokgi, kimbap, japchae (clear noodles). Now the cooking begins, we ordered fresh thin sliced pork belly twice. It was soooo good. If you want that crisp, you need to let them leave it a little longer. I know we ordered more meats like bulgogi, but I stopped taking notes. It was that good. Overall, the food was great. It was a little pricey, but you're getting a lot of food options. The meat alone pays for itself. Overall, I would recommend this place. Afterwards, you can walk it off at the mall.

Quality-wise, this is Hmart food court energy -- which is a compliment. The jajangmyun and soondubu are both dependable standbys, though you'll pay a couple bucks more here than you would at Hmart for the privilege. Where things get spicy (not the good kind) is when you start comparing prices to actual sit-down Korean restaurants: $19 for kimchi pajeon and $31 for LA galbi is the kind of pricing that makes you double-check you're still in a food court and not an actual BBQ joint with table service and a grill built into your table. That said -- the owners are genuinely friendly, service is fast, and portions come stacked with the right supporting cast: miso soup, pickled veggies, kimchi, all present and accounted for. No corner-cutting on the banchan front. Is it the cheapest Korean food in Northern Virginia? No. Is it convenient if you're already at Global Foods and craving Korean comfort food? Absolutely. There's not much else competing for this niche in the area, so it fills a real gap -- just go in knowing you're paying food-court-plus-tax-and-then-some prices for some items. Pro tip: they're closed Tuesdays, so don't make the pilgrimage only to stare at a locked gate.

And I will tell you in a Friday night the restaurant was packed, but the wait time was not bad. Me and my dude checked in and were able to sit at the bar and have a drink while we waited. I really like how when I checked in it was somehow connected to my Yelp account and I was able to see how far we were on the list through Yelp which was great! Now I forgot to actually take good pictures of the items we got when ordered because we were both pretty hungry. So we decided to get I believe the C option that includes seafood and all the meat options. The waiter was very helpful and gave food recommendations and helped cooked a few of the items. Now I would probably pass on the chicken thighs next time, but the ribeye and all the steak were top tier but still needed some salt and pepper. We did get the hot ramen but barely ate because the rice and the condiments were enough for me. The drinks were really great especially the one I had that includes the Bacardi dragon berry which is my favorite rum flavor hands down 10/10! I really love who the inside of the restaurant is with their soft lightening and a lot of seating for many customers. When I'm back in Woodbridge I'll be back! Come hungry it won't disappoint!

To Firepan Management,…read more I am writing to formally bring to your attention a deeply disappointing experience my family had at your Woodbridge location Saturday 8/29 during a 6:00 PM reservation made to celebrate my brothers birthday. What was meant to be a special family gathering turned into an uncomfortable and frustrating evening due to multiple service and operational failures. Despite having a reservation for a party of eleven, we were placed in a small enclosed room beside the bar, at a table that was clearly too small for our group. The table had two burners, but only one was fully operational. The second burner was technically on, but not functioning well enough to cook food properly, which made it impossible to prepare the meat at a reasonable pace for our entire party. Additionally, bowls of rice had been placed on the table before we arrived, and by the time we began eating, the rice was already cold. With only one fully working burner, we could not cook the meat fast enough for everyone. I notified our waiter Alex, and requested a manager. We informed Sienna, the manager on duty. She was condescending, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. We asked if the meat could be cooked in the back or alternatively at the open table next to us. She refused to provide any accommodation, or to offer to cook it on the table directly next to us. She simply stated they would inspect the burner after we left and did no offer us any solution. Rather, she informed that couldn't order more we needed to leave by 8 PM because a party of twenty was expected. It was only 7:10. This added pressure to an already uncomfortable situation and made our family feel rushed during what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner. Instead of allowing us to a completely reasonable resolution in turning on the burner next to us, they started stacking the sides and rice bowls for the next party at that table. That further made us feel rushed and unwelcomed. I'm sure the party after us would be disappointed to learn their food was set out over 30 mins prior to their arrival. Is this standard practice? To check out, I had to approach your manager Sienna at the host stand. I asked for an alternate manager or the General manager. She stated she was the only manager which is doubtful on a Saturday night. I explained how poor the experience had been, and that as a the manager her response was lackluster and lacked emotional intelligence. She responded by saying she had already applied a discount. I clarified that we were not seeking a discount -- we were seeking a quality family experience, especially for a birthday celebration. To add insult to injury, the discount applied was a military discount which my military family was already entitled to. I told her I was ready to check out. She stuck her hand out for my card without providing a proper receipt. I had to ask for my itemized receipt. Upon paying, she did not even have the decency to mutter a thank you. I called her out on her poor service once more as her behavior at this point was just distasteful and rude. This situation reflects a breakdown in customer service, communication, and basic operational standards. We left feeling unheard, rushed, and disappointed. Managers are responsible for customer satisfaction and recovering negative experiences and Sienna was completely incompetent, and rude. As a business owner, I'd be deeply concerned that such a poor manager is representing my business. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed at the management level. Families choose Firepan for the experience, not just the food, and I hope steps will be taken to ensure that no other guests encounter what we did. I will be sure to share my experience with others. I used to frequent this business, but no longer will. Do not recommend. There's a plethora of quality KBBQ in this area to ever waste my time here again. The one star reflects Alex's kindness. He was a kind server in a tough situation with an incompetent manager.
