To Firepan Management, I am writing to formally bring to your attention a deeply disappointing experience my family had at your Woodbridge location Saturday 8/29 during a 6:00 PM reservation made to celebrate my brothers birthday. What was meant to be a special family gathering turned into an uncomfortable and frustrating evening due to multiple service and operational failures. Despite having a reservation for a party of eleven, we were placed in a small enclosed room beside the bar, at a table that was clearly too small for our group. The table had two burners, but only one was fully operational. The second burner was technically on, but not functioning well enough to cook food properly, which made it impossible to prepare the meat at a reasonable pace for our entire party. Additionally, bowls of rice had been placed on the table before we arrived, and by the time we began eating, the rice was already cold. With only one fully working burner, we could not cook the meat fast enough for everyone. I notified our waiter Alex, and requested a manager. We informed Sienna, the manager on duty. She was condescending,dismissive, and completely unhelpful. We asked if the meat could be cooked in the back or alternatively at the open table next to us. She refused to provide any accommodation, or to offer to cook it on the table directly next to us. She simply stated they would inspect the burner after we left and did no offer us any solution. Rather, she informed that couldn't order more we needed to leave by 8 PM because a party of twenty was expected. It was only 7:10. This added pressure to an already uncomfortable situation and made our family feel rushed during what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner. Instead of allowing us to a completely reasonable resolution in turning on the burner next to us, they started stacking the sides and rice bowls for the next party at that table. That further made us feel rushed and unwelcomed. I'm sure the party after us would be disappointed to learn their food was set out over 30 mins prior to their arrival. Is this standard practice? To check out, I had to approach your manager Sienna at the host stand. I asked for an alternate manager or the General manager. She stated she was the only manager which is doubtful on a Saturday night. I explained how poor the experience had been, and that as a the manager her response was lackluster and lacked emotional intelligence. She responded by saying she had already applied a discount. I clarified that we were not seeking a discount -- we were seeking a quality family experience, especially for a birthday celebration. To add insult to injury, the discount applied was a military discount which my military family was already entitled to. I told her I was ready to check out. She stuck her hand out for my card without providing a proper receipt. I had to ask for my itemized receipt. Upon paying, she did not even have the decency to mutter a thank you. I called her out on her poor service once more as her behavior at this point was just distasteful and rude. This situation reflects a breakdown in customer service, communication, and basic operational standards. We left feeling unheard, rushed, and disappointed. Managers are responsible for customer satisfaction and recovering negative experiences and Sienna was completely incompetent, and rude. As a business owner, I'd be deeply concerned that such a poor manager is representing my business. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed at the management level. Families choose Firepan for the experience, not just the food, and I hope steps will be taken to ensure that no other guests encounter what we did. I will be sure to share my experience with others. I used to frequent this business, but no longer will. Do not recommend. There's a plethora of quality KBBQ in this area to ever waste my time here again. The one star reflects Alex's kindness. First off I want to start by saying we came in at 10pm when they close at 11. We had 30 minutes of ordering time. But upon walking in, our hostess/server immediately rolled his eyes and let us know the kitchen closed in 30 and we let him know that's ok. From the moment he sat us he was rude, cold, and unprofessional. He never gave us his name, Never brought us sauces (we had to ask) and everything he brought was slammed onto the table and walked away without a second thought. I'm used to being asked how everything is going, if we need anything, etc. None of that happened during our interactions with him. He barely checked on us, we had to keep calling him over. Then when we get the check once again no thank you for coming enjoy your evening anything. The lack of customer service made the experience unenjoyable to say the least. I understand we came in a bit towards closing but with still an hour I feel like we deserved better service and shouldn't have to charge that behavior to "we're about to close". Despite that, the food came out quick and was very good. The rice was a bit overcooked but I let it go. Overall, I would go back and eat there again, just maybe with a different server. read more

I'm honestly sad to be writing this review, especially because I was just here a week ago and raved about how great the food and service were. Unfortunately, today's experience was completely different, and I probably won't be returning. This was my first time sitting at the bar. The previous visit, I sat at a cooking table and ordered the exact same thing--à la carte brisket--and the portion was amazing. So much food that I remember thinking I was glad I didn't do the all-you-can-eat option because it would've been a waste. Today, I figured I'd sit at the bar instead since I wasn't cooking and didn't want to take up a table. Same order... but the portion I received today was shockingly small. It wasn't even close to what I got before. I didn't want to be that difficult customer, but it definitely didn't feel worth what I was paying. I do want to shout out the bartender, Nico--he was great, and this wasn't his fault at all. Since I was still hungry, I sent the brisket back and ordered sushi instead. This place is a chain and many ways feels very packaged. I thought the food was pretty good and they changed out our barbecuing a lot because they would not provide any oil. I would say this is Korean barbecue made for non-Korean they had an option of all you can eat with three different levels and they also had à la cart you could order as well. I have eaten here twice now.. I like the layout and lighting of the restaurant. The meat options are good and have consistently been that way. Im not much a sushi eater however I LOVED the crazy California roll so if you want to try sushi out, I'd recommend that one. For the most part the service is good however this recent visit, the burner was too much on a few occasions resulting in us coughing on the smoke from the meat residue on the pan but after bringing that issue up, the server was more careful about it. We thought it was cool that option B had sushi which we have not seen at other Korean BBQs. My favorite will always be the brisket but the spicy bulgogi was amazing too. I visited with my wife and 2 year old and another family with their toddler. They charged us an automatic 20% gratuity for having a large group. 4 adults and 2 toddlers. That doesn't feel normal. As a matter of fact, from the very first interaction with our server Sierra, the experience felt awful. I asked her to move a smoking stack of used grills because the smoke was getting to the kids. She did not move them right away and stared at me like I had offended her. When we ordered our food, she didn't take our drink order and we had to flag her down later. Also, the soup we ordered never came and the other sides arrived extremely late. Almost as if she never put the orders into the kitchen. She was passive aggressive by refilling everyone's water cups except mine. I was the one ordering for the table. It seemed she had some ill will toward me. Overall the service was sloppy, slow, and disrespectful. The quality of meat was okay, but noticeable lower quality compared to previous visits. but the worst was the undercooked rice. The grains were still hard. Additionally, the floors were slippery from grease and the stacks of used grills around every corner felt unsafe for little kids. Wouldn't recommend for family's with kids under 5. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Service was excellent. Our server Giovanni was constantly checking in throughout our meal and making sure we had ever we needed. Cuts of meat were pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of the dipping sauces. I think traditional soybean paste or gochujang sauce would have been perfect. The soybean paste soup was spot on! So I've been a regular ever since they've open. One because of the location, two the ambience, three the service & lastly the value of what you get versus the price. You can't get anything like it for the same price anywhere else. Some people complain about the quality of the meat? But really for the price, the quality is pretty good, I'm not sure what they're expecting. We decided to do option B for the AYCE and some of their rolls. We opted for the crazy bulgogi roll which was pretty good. We tried a variety of the pork belly and bulgogi and briskets of the meat. They definitely give you good sized portions of the meat and we got rice as well. Ended up being pretty filling. All of their options are pretty well flavored. This was kind of the first time I've been to KBBQ where we did 100% of the cooking and cutting up the meat. Our service was great. The server was attentive, checked in on us multiple times so we could continuously order food, and the food was brought quickly. The bulgogi was a 4/5. I prefer the spicy bulgogi which was a 5/5. We also had the firepan steak that was 3/5. It wasn't anything special, just okay. The soy chicken was the same, it wasn't bad just didn't have a wow factor. Lastly the pork belly, it was a 3/5 (if you do not like fat in your meet - don't get this). My fiance' said it wasn't anything special either just okay. The shrimp tempura roll and crazy California rolls were both 4.5/5. I also got the ramen and french fries - both were 5/5. Their French fries are SO GOOD. For the amount of food we ate, it was worth the price. The restaurant itself is pretty nice. It's a bit dark with blue lights through - giving a lounge vibe with 2000-2010s music playing. Not good - at all. I've been to the Firepan at Falls Church and thought I knew what we were getting into. We ordered the steamed egg, olive pork chops, ribeye, and Firepan steak. Steamed egg was overcooked mush. The meats all came out from the kitchen, not grilled in front of you. The ribeye and firepan steak didn't seem to be grilled but rather pan fried. We selected the a-la-carte option, we ordered the spicy bulgogi, beef belly rib and the chadoi baegi (the beef brisket). The meats were okay, the beef belly and the brisket were very dry. I've been here a shameful amount of times honestly, it's a good spot for a late-night dinner with friends or family. It wouldn't be a KBBQ dinner if you didn't grill the food in front of you; but I can appreciate the single meal options on the menu. As I was cooking my food and eating my now second serving, I found a long, blonde strand of hair in my food, I called my waiter over and immediately asked for the manager as, 1. I already ate a good portion of the food brought to me. 2. I have locs. 3. This was loose hair. And 4. My locs are black. No blonde hair in site. The manager came over, apologized and then told the waiter to tell me that a "discount" would be provided, when honestly, the whole meal which was now unsalvageable, should've been comped. Nonetheless, my check came out, and the only discount applied was my already expected, $3.33 military discount. I asked for the manager to come over and explain, and no one came, ultimately, after waiting for longer than I should have, I chose to leave because I had to pickup my child from daycare. I am highly disappointed, as I have come to this location a few times before and never experienced this. I am more so disappointed in how I was disregarded and avoided once the proof was provided to them and the lack of correction or accountability. Came here with family for a late lunch. I have heard mixed reviews about the place but we figured we'd give it a shot. I've been to the location in Eden but wasn't too big of a fan so I didn't exactly have high hopes. We came in the restaurant and luckily it wasn't too busy so we got seated right away. Our server was very friendly and pretty attentive to our party. The prices were pretty good for the all you can eat options. We opted for option C so we could get more of the higher tier beef. Our server kept all our banchan pretty stocked and was flipping our meat and switching out grills frequently. /she cooked everything really well. Their brisket and the beef belly rib were my favorites. The ribeye was ok, not what I expected though. The sushi in my opinion wasn't really worth getting either. Overall, a great experience. It was ok. It's a trendy hipster spot w K-Pop playing through the restaurant and most of the patrons there were in their 20s or so. The ambiance was nice dim lighting drew my wife and I in but it's very hipster despite the dimmed lights. Food was good. Being our first time we did the all-you-can-eat for 90 mins to try a variety of food which ended up being a variation of beef. The service was ok, we felt kinda rushed to eat the server would tell us on multiple occasions we didn't have to wait until food was finish cooking to add more. Like we get there is a time limit but we like to talk and enjoy the meal. We were in no rush to eat as much as possible. And what we had was plentiful. This was a turn-off for us. Not a one and done as the food was good enough to try again and hope the service is better.
