Soy Glaze lunch special (half eaten - sorry, not sorry)
    Amanda H.

Started with the pork potstickers. Delicious! Mama and I split the lunch special wings also in Soy Garlic. Seriously I love this sauce so much! Everything just was perfect! Yum! The consistency is insane here, I love to stop by on my way home and pick up an order of the chicken strips to go. (Pro tip: ask for them to brush extra sauce on the chicken!)

This is actually an update to previous review. I went back and Bonchon totally redeemed themselves. Had BBQ wings and seasoned fries of course. Absolutely delicious and I was totally satisfied. Hot crunchy juicy chicken. The sauce was perfect. I so enjoyed my dinner that I forgot to take a new photo. That's when you know you were focused on the meal. Thank you for making my 4th visit awesome.

Garlic soy boneless wings and pickled radish
    Shannon M.

This small, noisy place delivers up Korean style chicken (bone in or boneless) as well as an assortment of entree plates and sides. My boyfriend and I should have split one medium order instead of each getting a small. The boneless wing nuggets are quite meaty. I enjoyed the pickled radish as a palate cleanser since the soy garlic sauce is a bit heavy. We split a basket of the fries seasoned with Parmesan and herbs; they stayed hot and crispy throughout our meal. Service was efficient. The floor could have use a mopping; my shoes were sticking to it as I walked!

Drums 4 PC with 2spicy and 2soy sauce

Every bite of that chicken I kept saying "oh lawd". It was delicious, hot crispy chicken with wonderful flavor. For lunch, I ordered the drum meal(spicy and soy sauce) with steamed rice. Omg. What a treat. Fast quick service. I was pleased.

First time trying this place. Food was pretty solid. Great flavors. Ordered the fries and even with the delivery they were still pretty crispy outside and soft inside . Donuts were ok, but a bit too oily for my taste. Probably will not order again. Good traveled well, so a good choice when looking for delivery.

Fries were good! These are very crispy and crunch but still soft on the inside. 4/5

After two years, it has finally opened!! After a week of opening, the restaurant is still learning its ways which is totally understandable. The restaurant in itself, is pretty nice, clean, but pretty limited to seating! There probably would be a big wait time during rush hour. I know during night time they were struggling a bit to get takeout orders out. They also stop taking order beforehand as well before they close. We arrived and we were seated right away! Our waitress Paula was nice and friendly. Our food came out in a mannerly time. Our food came out one by one and not all together (that is okay for me). The food was great. I have been to this chain restaurant before and we always enjoy their food! So good, I forgot to snap good photos of our food once it came out lol Soy Garlic Wings 4.8/5-- their wings are sooo crispy and cooked to perfection. The only thing we wish was that the wings were coated more of the glaze. It seemed like it was lightly coated. Raddish 3/5 -- we also have to have a side of raddish. It didn't seem like the raddish we had was fermented long enough. It didn't have much of the pickled flavor but tasted plain. Udon noodles 5/5 -- very good! Had flavor and the portion is great. Pork Bao Buns 4/5 -- some of our buns had a small portion of pork belly in it. We wish it had bigger slices. Other wise, the flavor and texture is really good. Fries 4/5 -- very crispy and crunchy but also has a soft texture inside! I would def come back!

    Soy garlic chicken bibimbap

We wanted something quick and casual and headed to Bonchon on a Saturday evening since we were in the area. It's a casual place with a Korean sports bar vibe and service was quick. We didn't get the famous fried chicken this time. We both got bibimbaps instead. I got the spicy chicken bibimbap and my partner got the soy garlic chicken bibimbap. Both the flavors of chicken were good. The spicy chicken was actually spicy which I liked. The bibimbap came in a hot stone pot with lots of veggies and quinoa, along with rice. The gochujang sauce came on the side and was spicy and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely recommend getting the bibimbap!!

I am so happy they are finally open! Excellent korean fried chicken. The strips are tasty, but it's all about the legs! Soooo crunchy and yet so juicy and delicious! The fried pickles are well seasoned and comes with a great dipping sauce. If you are new to korean fried chicken, ldon't let the prices chase you away. The small order of chicken legs is $15, but you get 5 HUGE legs! They are double fried (not greasy!) and glazed with either a soy garlic or spicy sauce. Worth every penny! Support local and check this place out! It is !

Parking is in a parking lot right near the restaurant, which is in a strip mall. The entrance was doable if you are using an assistive device as long as someone can open the door for you. We went on a Friday evening and it was very busy however the staff did a very good job of keeping up. The restaurant was pretty small and a little cramped, so you better be ok with sitting near and overhearing other customers. The service was outstanding. The servers appeared to work as a team to keep orders coming out and drinks filled. The one issue was that the dishes came out staggered, so the first person served was almost finished when the last one was served. The food was very good and was served hot and fresh. We appreciated the mixed combos of multiple sizes. The coleslaw was pretty basic but the pickled radish was unique and helped cut some of the heat from the spicy chicken. All the chicken dishes were very crisp and flavorful. The zucchini was crisp but basic until you dipped it in the spicy sauce served with it. The takoyaki was served piping hot so it appeared as if the banito flakes were moving, it was very good but could have used a little sauce or salt to add something to it. Over all it was a nice casual meal and we will eat at again if we are in the area.

It was great chicken just a lack of care for costumers, and sketchy kitchen staff. Probably dirty in the back won't be back again.

Always feels welcoming and warm (especially in the winter). I cannot say more than all of their food is delicious. The meat is great and fresh, the buffet veggies are tasty, and the extras they offer (sesame balls, spring rolls, etc.) are a nice touch! You can't go wrong with any of the broths, but don't be shy to try the spicy. It is not overwhelming and adds great flavor. The staff is great and always willing to answer any questions. They are quick to refill broth or bring any refills for meats. Perfect for a group or a delightful date. Many happy returns to this favorite!

This one's building looks like a beautiful lodge. While there is an online Yelp waitlist (that goes up to 6 people), we had a party of 8 so I called the restaurant and they were happy to put my name down for a reservation. We came to celebrate my dad's birthday. We brought a cake to share, and when we arrived, our server was gracious enough to store it in the fridge until we were ready. We had 6 adults and 2 kids. Kids under a certain height (I forget the details exactly) are free. So we didn't have to pay for the little ones, and not like toddlers appreciate hot pot anyway. It was more, "how do we make sure they don't touch the pot?!" which went totally fine. It's to position the high chairs the furthest away from the knobs/hot surfaces. On our end of the table, we got the half-half broth of classic marrow and the gold cabbage marrow. The golden marrow was SO GOOD. I would get this again and again, because it's hot/sour; the flavor of pickled cabbage and the spice of Szechuan peppercorns. Our server said the spice builds over time, and it did. It was so flavorful that I barely used my dipping sauce. If you like hot/spicy and sour, choose this broth, it is DELICIOUS. The sauce station and the prepared food buffet was located in the middle-back of the dining area. It's a little packed and cozy in there, especially during the dinner rush, you may need to wait a little longer or keep an eye on the area to determine when to get out of your seat. This same area has self-service personal ice cream cups, soda, additional toppings/veggies/proteins, buffet (fried rice, fried chicken, egg rolls, fried buns) AND the sauce station. What I did love is there was a gentleman who was making balloon animals/hats/characters for sale near the front of the restaurant. He says he does this occasionally when he doesn't have other gigs like parties or weddings, etc, so my kiddo and my niece each got a cat and a bunny, respectively. This made their day! And it was nice for them not to be strapped into a high chair the whole time, and have something to entertain them. Overall, 4 shining stars! It would have been great if they had private and semi-private rooms like the Bridgeport location, but I think this wasn't possible due to their building. It looked like they took over a from a Mangia Bubala Roadhouse (Italian and Jewish fare) which took over from a Connie's Pizza. This place has gone through some changes, but it looks like Happy Lamb will be there for the long-run.

Now, the big sign above the place outside still says Joy Yee...as do the plates, the cups, the employee shirts. The food and drink menu look the same too. Pretty much the only thing that says Joy Yuan is their menu and their website. So I don't know what happened, but it's pretty obvious this used to be a Joy Yee's and some kind of management change happened, but it feels like literally nothing has changed. Which is a good thing! My wife and I used to take Joy Yee's for granted in Chinatown, going only for drinks, but their food is always solid as well. We were going to do takeout, but our kid was hungry so we dined in and got the classic beef cubes in tomato rice and salt and pepper shrimp. Dare I say...the beef cubes were better than what we remember at Joy Yee's? They were still sauced well but also were more tender and less chewy than we remember. The shrimp were large and solid as well, and not too spicy. We had to get drinks of course, and my berry/passion fruit smoothie took me back to many days walking through Chinatown. The prices are still a little higher like everything else in the world, and they could definitely do with some decor. Maybe they had to change it with the change in ownership? But service was on point and I think we'll definitely be making the drive back here.

After 10 minutes the host comes and tells the couple they have tables but they aren't cleaned yet and he's waiting. Mind you the restaurant isn't packed, but there are a few tables dining. I'm guessing they were understaffed. Anyhow, after another 10 minutes the guy ahead of us gets seated. Nothing was said to us. Another party of two came and they were also waiting and they flagged someone down. The host said the same thing as earlier, they have tables that haven't been cleaned. 10 mins later he goes to try to seat them knowing we were there first. The lady even told him, well they were here first. He went ahead and seated them anyway then came back and got us. It's 245. I told him we had a reservation for 230. The lack of communication from the host was off putting. We were hungry and my son really wanted bbq. I would have gone to SGD, but they are closed on Mondays. Anyhow, we wait around a good 10 mins before a server comes to take a drink order. Again, they weren't completely packed, I counted 3 servers and a host. We order ribeye, chicken, filet, kalbi and the hirami in a pot for our meats. We also got corn, spinach, a salad and the fried rice and an order of white rice. I ask him if that's enough food and he says yes, but you can keep a menu in case you want more. Our table was 2 adults and 2 kids who are 11 and 9. Fried rice comes out first and the meats. I ask him to bring the white rice too for my son. He said he forgot and will grab it right away. Let's just say he brought the white rice a good 15 mins after...and I had to remind him. So my son is sitting there eating his meat with no rice. The hirami in the pot was a good size but there were 5 pieces of ribeye and 5 pieces of filet and 5 pieces of chicken and maybe 8 pieces of the kalbi. How is this enough for 4 people? So we order another 2 orders of kalbi. I don't know the happy hour portions are tiny. We also needed refills and that took a couple reminders. We also ordered another order of rice. We are pretty much done eating when I ask him what happened to our rice order? He said he will check and that he ordered it awhile ago. He comes back within 2 minutes with our rice saying there was a mix up in the kitchen? Was it really a mix up or did you just forget? By the time we get our check it's 445. Why did this take so long? We have been there before and we are usually in and out in an hour and a half. So they took the fried rice off our bill. Then for tip, it's asking if we want to tip 18, 22 or 22%? Are you being serious? This guy had to constantly be reminded of everything, service was so slow and he had only two other tables. Someone else was picking up our dirty plates and bringing us the meats. I've never had a bad experience here until now. The visit wasn't worth the $180. Food was good except the filet. That had no flavor at all and had to be drenched with the sauces on the table. We have gotten delivery from here before and the portions were bigger during delivery. One other thing to note, the server never even changed out our grill...they usually do that half way through.
