Cold buckwheat noodle sooooo delicious! The broth was everything

It's been about 10 years since I've been here at Seocho Garden in Lisle. I don't know if it's the same owner but the lady server is still not too friendly but the guy server is still nice so nothing has really changed. That's why I took away 1 star. But it doesn't really stop me from coming because the food is still yummy. It is a $40 per person all you can eat Korean BBQ with plenty of delicious side dishes and meats to choose from. You can also have 1 noodle per person and my girlfriend picked their spicy cold buckwheat noodle and she said it was delicious and my cold buckwheat noodle was amazing! The broth was soooo good! I know you would say why would you eat noodles at an AYCE buffet but I have been CRAVING some cold noodles and it was chewy and delicious and just amazing! They didn't have lettuce which I was a little disappointed so we wrap our meat in it but the guy server compensated us with spicy scallion instead and that was just as good. Is it expensive? I really don't think so if you can eat bc nowadays you can't leave a restaurant for 2 without spending over $100. We had 6 meat dishes and 2 shrimp dishes on top of cold noodles and Korean pancake and beer!!! We definitely ate wayyyyyy too much but our bellies was full and our hearts was happy.

We went on a Tuesday night and the place was not busy to start. We did the all you can eat Korean BBQ. As the evening went on more people came in. The staff was not super friendly, but very attentive to our needs. It was definitely a laid back atmosphere. The food was pretty good for an all you can eat place. You can only select three dishes at a time and cannot order more until it's finished. The sides of kim chi basic and the staff would provide more when asked.

I believe ayce is like $40 now. It used to be cheaper. This place is never really busy. For ayce kbbq in Lisle/Downers Grove, it's solid. It definitely helps fill the void if you don't want to drive to Niles and Arlington Heights. Service leaves a lot to be desired because those ladies can get very lazy and take their time bringing you more items. Since it's close by, I'll have back soon and update this on the quality. I haven't been here awhile since I was trying some places in the Arlington Heights and Niles area.

Ask for the shredded scallions and lettuce garnish it's good!

$40 per adult all you can eat meat and side dishes. However extra bowl of rice is $3 per extra bowl! And also if you choose the noodles you cannot have rice. You can only Do the One time as well. Is if good if you ask for the green onion lettuce garnish it's delicious. Is it $40 I say throw in some bean paste then maybe we can talk and uh lettuce wraps instead of over charging for a bowl of rice uh okay ?

AYCE Korean BBQ dinner for $30 (price per person). Dinner comes with one order of Korean savory pancakes and unlimited banchan. There were 9 different kinds of banchan and they were all tasty. Of the 9 meat choices, our favorite were Sang Kalbi (boneless beef short ribs) and Bulgogi (marinated thinly sliced tender beef). I also tried the Bibim NangMyun (spicy buckwheat noodles) and although good, may take up valuable stomach space. Service was good and friendly. They change out the grill after every meat. Reservation is recommended. They also take your picture and put it up on the wall near the front of the restaurant. 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . Dolsot Bibim Bop Rice topped w/vegetables, beef & spicy sauce served in a sizzling hot pot

Ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered Dolsot Bibim Bop - Rice topped w/vegetables, beef & spicy sauce served in a sizzling hot pot. My husband ordered some sort of soup. Both were bland... Seemed like they didn't season the dishes what so ever. I didn't finish my bowl of food. Thank goodness I did not want to bring the leftovers home because they were charging $1 for a takeout box!! The service was better than the food or else I would have given them an even lower rating.

Extremely rude. Clean our table before we finish to eat. They were mean and cheap. So disappointed.

We were not done eating. They took our plates. They took our drinks. At 7:35 PM. They close at 8:00 PM. They were extremely rude. They just cleaned up everyone's plates without even asking. So mean the service. Food was great. Service was rude.

The customer service was really nice. Our waiter came and checked up on us multiple times. And of course, the food was amazing. Also everything cooked so well. It was nice to try new things and the experience was really fun and enjoyable.

Omg amazing! Still a gem since I was last here over 10 years ago! We did the AYCE Korean bbq and we were only allowed to choose 3 meats at a time. I was fine with that. The sizes are large. The marinade is AHMAaaziinNG!! I LOVE their food..the beef bulgogi was the best!! They had some sides and they were all okay... I wish they had the sweet potato side though. The male server we had who kept changing our grill and making sure we were okay was so kind! The environment was comfortable. It seems like a family owned restaurant, and I fully support that! Service is always key with these types of places where they're constantly changing your grill and making sure your meats are there, your sides dishes are full, your used empty plates are taken away, and they delivered. Keep it up! Would love to come back for another family dinner.

I ordered online for carry out and the platform was easy to navigate. Once my husband and I arrived at the resto we were greeted by a very kind staff member. Our food wasn't ready but within 5 mins of us being there it was good to go. We tried the wonton soup and chicken dumplings app. Both were on the bland side. Normally I'm used to wonton soup also having noodles and theirs does not. Flavors were OK, felt like both dishes were missing spices. Everything was cooked perfectly though. Maybe we ordered the wrong items from here and need to try others instead.

In my experience, this signifies either the place was going to be a shithole to pass up, or it was a serious place to eat, then get out and go somewhere with an atmosphere. Happy to say J's (IMHO) is a serious place to eat. No-nonsense, direct and to the point. When I walked in, all those common chairs I mentioned were stacked upside down on the tables in the way that places do when they are closed. The taciturn fellow who worked there assured me they were indeed open, and explained they had just finish washing the floor. Please dont read any of this as negative-the best Chinese places I've ever been have looked like this-and if you've paid attention to the Travel/Food shows on the TeeVee, the joints in China itself are pretty much the same. On to the food, know this place is a Serious REAL-DEAL Chinese resto. I didn't notice if there were "Occidental" Chinese-type dishes on the carte, (primarily 'cos I wasn't looking for them). What I saw looked yum, and had a hard time making choices, even though I had read the menu multiple times and thought I know what I was going to order in advance. Confessionately, this is a chief feature for my tortured dining self-It's a wonder I even get fed in restaurants (especially the great ethnic ones), due to option anxiety. I zeroed in on "Street Noodles" for starters-wouldn't you? Then went to "Cold Beef Shank" for entreé. The Noodles were fab as was the Shank. The noodles were in a broth. with some hunks of bok choy and ground meat on top. Hearty, still light. The shank had a thin sauce complimenting but not obscuring the beefiness. One bugaboo: the Shank needed a bit of seasoning, and I wasn't going to use soy sauce, as I believed that would have marred the subtle flavors of the Beef. I asked for a salt shaker. It arrived, and I was a little taken back, 'cos it appeared it hadn't been washed in a while, and the salt inside was caked. It occurred to me this condition was present due to the non-use of said shaker. I don't think I've ever asked for a salt shaker in a Chinese resto. I pulled a toothpick out of my "Murse" and broke up the caked NaCl. Applying same to the pieces of Shank, the flavor bloomed and I was a happy boy. Bring some salt packets along when you visit "J's", maybe. The fellow who was waiter and cashier was a "western" fellow, whom I engaged and turned out to be quite an experienced foodie. some pleasant conversation indeed. Throwing 4 for this excellent establishment, with a few grains of salt separating it from 5...

It was plenty of food, topped off with smores for dessert. The meat was fresh. Lots of meat, good beef, some pork, and a few shrimp. The salads were good... might be better if we'd asked for the salad dressing on the side. The sukiyaki was surprising in that it was more like fried rice. Spicy chiggae soup was yummy, nice and spicy. So much food. Super yummy. Park in the structure around the corner on Chicago Ave.

After 10 minutes the host comes and tells the couple they have tables but they aren't cleaned yet and he's waiting. Mind you the restaurant isn't packed, but there are a few tables dining. I'm guessing they were understaffed. Anyhow, after another 10 minutes the guy ahead of us gets seated. Nothing was said to us. Another party of two came and they were also waiting and they flagged someone down. The host said the same thing as earlier, they have tables that haven't been cleaned. 10 mins later he goes to try to seat them knowing we were there first. The lady even told him, well they were here first. He went ahead and seated them anyway then came back and got us. It's 245. I told him we had a reservation for 230. The lack of communication from the host was off putting. We were hungry and my son really wanted bbq. I would have gone to SGD, but they are closed on Mondays. Anyhow, we wait around a good 10 mins before a server comes to take a drink order. Again, they weren't completely packed, I counted 3 servers and a host. We order ribeye, chicken, filet, kalbi and the hirami in a pot for our meats. We also got corn, spinach, a salad and the fried rice and an order of white rice. I ask him if that's enough food and he says yes, but you can keep a menu in case you want more. Our table was 2 adults and 2 kids who are 11 and 9. Fried rice comes out first and the meats. I ask him to bring the white rice too for my son. He said he forgot and will grab it right away. Let's just say he brought the white rice a good 15 mins after...and I had to remind him. So my son is sitting there eating his meat with no rice. The hirami in the pot was a good size but there were 5 pieces of ribeye and 5 pieces of filet and 5 pieces of chicken and maybe 8 pieces of the kalbi. How is this enough for 4 people? So we order another 2 orders of kalbi. I don't know the happy hour portions are tiny. We also needed refills and that took a couple reminders. We also ordered another order of rice. We are pretty much done eating when I ask him what happened to our rice order? He said he will check and that he ordered it awhile ago. He comes back within 2 minutes with our rice saying there was a mix up in the kitchen? Was it really a mix up or did you just forget? By the time we get our check it's 445. Why did this take so long? We have been there before and we are usually in and out in an hour and a half. So they took the fried rice off our bill. Then for tip, it's asking if we want to tip 18, 22 or 22%? Are you being serious? This guy had to constantly be reminded of everything, service was so slow and he had only two other tables. Someone else was picking up our dirty plates and bringing us the meats. I've never had a bad experience here until now. The visit wasn't worth the $180. Food was good except the filet. That had no flavor at all and had to be drenched with the sauces on the table. We have gotten delivery from here before and the portions were bigger during delivery. One other thing to note, the server never even changed out our grill...they usually do that half way through.
