    Really greasy fries

Blackened chicken sandwich tasted terrible and the fries were so greasy they were making a grease puddle on the plate. Refused to eat the food. They are also expensive, 15 bucks for not a lot of food. Definitely go elsewhere. There is a reason there was almost no one there at noon on a Thursday.

The Beijing House Buufet, located on Edmonton's St. Albert Trail, is a favourite amongst locals…read more Beijing House is primarily a buffet, but you also have the opportunity to order single items from the menu, but meal deals are also available for two, three, four, six and eight people. These are are a great option if you don't want to take from the buffet. But I would like to add that the buffet is very complete, always fresh and full. The meal we took is the deal for two, which included two spring rolls, two wonton soups and chicken fried rice, plus two other entrees (in this case, we ordered lemon chicken, and the beef and broccoli). Food that is served at Beijing House is very complete: soups and appetizers, chicken, beef, seafood, pork, vegetable and chop suey, rice, noodles, chow mein, and egg foo yong. The restaurant has very nice decoration, which is typically Asian. The place is great for lunch and dinner, and whether you are by yourself, small group or having a party gathering. Finally, Beijing House is a great place to dine, where good food is served and quick professional service.

Kinda reminds me of cafeteria style buffet. Nothing fancy but the food is tasty and a good selection

The selection is smaller than you might find in a city, but they make up for it in originality and variety. How about three kinds of noodles? And Italian meatballs, prawns, chop suey, deep fried scallops and tempura fried fish. Those last two really impressed me, because they were both fried just enough to allow their delicate flavors and textures shine through. Someone paid attention. On their salad bar, you'll find a different variety of vegetable and fruit salads, alongside simple but excellent fruit slices like papaya, mango, and lychee fruit. Again, someone paid attention to the details, instead of just hacking up some tossed salad and a bunch of melon. I LOVED that they had sushi! It was simple stuff, mostly cucumber, avocado and shrimp, but it was beautiful and tasty--not going to complain! Desserts were simple, but there's something for everyone. Two kinds of cake, chocolate and lemon--I had one of each, plus the lovely custard. What I thought was really cool was the wide variety of ice cream they had available. They had the standard vanilla, but also mint chip, oreo and more. Service was superb. They are quick and soooo nice there. Excellent! I'm pleased with the whole experience. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Westlock.

I was so disgusted by the staff smoking, hacking, and throwing their cigarette butts on the ground that I was completely turned off. I thought what would the cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen be like... I phoned and spoke to the manager regarding my concerns, but she chose to do nothing about it - it is still going on and the cigarette butts have never been cleaned up or an ashtray provided. Trying this restaurant is not in my future.

I was extremely disappointed, the food was hard, and cold. The only thing that was edible was the mashed potatoes and gravy, and adobo pork. All the vegetables were very cold, and the chicken balls were hard like a hockey puck, the Chinese noodles were crunchy because they sat out too long. there was butter chicken but only I saw was fried rice until after I saw a rice cooker that had white rice in it. It wasn't labelled, and I was just being snoopy, and that's how I found out. I deeply regret spending that kinda money on a meal I was so unsatisfied with. The dessert section was disappointing as well. I will never go there again.

However, I didn't realize this location is in a seedy area of Edmonton until I saw questionable peeps loitering near the parking lot next to Travelodge. My cousin texted, "Where are you? We're here." I texted, "We are inside the restaurant." I didn't realize there's two different entrances. That's where gps led us. Best to park in the lot on the opposite side. Our Server was very helpful and offered to bring a separate menu in case we wanted an ala carte item. We're given water refills. Help yourself to various food stations. My faves were dim sum items and Deep Fried Steamed Buns w/ Condensed Milk. There were eight different ice cream flavors. Tiger tail and green tea ice cream were tasty, yet a little too soft. I loved the aesthetics of tea pot which worked in favor of keeping tea hot thanks to a mini candle. Also loved the tea which helped to cleanse my palate in between savory versus sweet. The food and dessert set up for Yang Ming Buffet in Alberta reminds me of the Mandarin Buffet in Ontario.
