Looking at their menu we decided on the Shrimp Scampi and the Grilled Pork chops. Service started with some pickled veggies and olive, followed by a nice cup of soup, a loaf of warm bread and then a nice dinner salad! Then came out the main dishes! My baked potato and TWO VERY LARGE GRILLED PORK CHOP...each about an inch thick served with applesauce and pineapple slices. Each chop was larger than my hand! The Shrimp Scampi was serving of 8 large shrimp swimming in butter! Both of us were surprised at the amount of food was served...until we saw another customer being served a petit Filet that was LARGE!! We head into Evanston from Park City every couple of months and usually stop somewhere for dinner, this was our first visit to Bon Rico, and it completely exceeded expectations. This will absolutely be our go-to spot every time we're in town. It's located in the historic part of Evanston, tucked between a VFW and a Chinese restaurant. Don't let the modest exterior fool you, it's part of the charm and sets the stage for a truly unique experience. When you walk in, you're greeted by a small lobby filled with houseplants and a vintage sofa that looks straight out of the 1970s, and honestly, it's perfect. There's something authentic and unpretentious about it. You pass through to the host stand, where the owner (we assume) warmly welcomed us and showed us to our table. The dining room feels more like a classic supper club than a modern steakhouse, with cloth tablecloths and napkins and a spotless, well-kept space. It's comfortable, relaxed, and inviting. The menu is fairly extensive, with appetizers, pasta, and seafood, but let's be honest, the steak is the reason you come. They offer several cuts in different sizes, and they are ENORMOUS. I ordered the petit ribeye, which is 16 ounces, and that's the "petit." Larger cuts are available for those with serious appetites. All steaks come with a house salad and French onion soup, which were both OK. You also get your choice of side (fries, baked potato, or onion rings). I had the onion rings, they were all right but next time I'll go with the baked potato, which looked fantastic at nearby tables. The wine selection fits the place perfectly. You can order a glass or even a carafe of Black Box, or choose from a selection of bottles if you're in the mood for something elevated. It's unpretentious, practical, and well suited to the experience no pressure, no performance and no snobbiness. We just had some Black Box, which fit the vibe. Now, the steak: this is what you come here for. It was grilled to a perfect medium rare, tender and deeply flavorful. Other than salt and pepper, there didn't seem to be any heavy rub or seasoning, and that's exactly how it should be. There was nothing to disguise. The beef stood entirely on its own, and it was exceptional. I've had "fancier" steaks at upscale steakhouses, but I can honestly say I've never had a better cut of beef. This was pure, high-quality steak done right. Service was attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed. It was present when you needed it and never intrusive. We live in Park City, where we're surrounded by fine dining that often focuses on flourishes and style but sometimes misses the mark on the food itself. Bon Rico is the opposite. No gimmicks. No theatrics. Just an outstanding piece of beef, served generously and done exactly right. Bon Rico isn't just dinner it's an experience. If you're driving down I-80, make the stop. You'll be glad you did and will probably agree that this is the best steak in Wyoming! read more

We visit Evanston every few months and this is absolutely the best place we've eaten in town. They have a great old school vibe and lovely atmosphere. Everything was delicious. I love how they bring out a plate of picked veggies as a starter. The steaks are genuinely the biggest I have ever seen anywhere. Review This is going to be a fairly long and honest review. For starters we had went here with hearing great reviews! We ordered 2 steaks an appetizer and 2 drinks the total was $200! When we initially seen the price we assumed this meant we would be receiving a high quality meal and exceptional service, and since my husband and I love to find new restaurants we didn't mind paying that amount. Unfortunately this entire experience wasn't what we had hoped for... The atmosphere reminded me of a wedding set up with smaller tables slid together with a white table cloth thrown over to give a "fancy" feel. The owner/waiter seemed very kind as well. The food was as it states in other reviews (larger portions) but the steak had no flavor just cooked and thrown on a plate. Although I will say the dessert was absolutely delicious! Where the problems truly started was when my husband got sick after leaving here and then I got sick after eating the left overs. I called to give the owner a heads up in case they had a bad batch of meat and was treated horribly, called a know it all and was told by the owner himself "you can not get food poisoning from steak" I told him he should google it and he called me a "Web MD'er". I was completely blown away being treated this way. He offered a refund multiple times and at first I denied because that wasn't why I had called but then agreed because I thought he was trying to be kind. We are now almost 2 weeks later and there is still no refund. I was so excited about this restaurant and where some things were great, others, including how I was spoke to were unacceptable. OMG, there was so much food! The reviews I read were very good so we decided we would try Bon Rico for steaks. The staff were friendly and efficient. We were seated right away at a table with a cloth tablecloth and napkins. The menu does not tell you the sizes of the steaks which is my only criticism. We both chose ribeye, I chose the petite and my husband chose the regular cut. The petite is 16 ounces and the regular is 24 ounces. Both were gigantic! First we were served crudites, carrots, celery, pickles, peppers, olives and okra. Then came three large fresh baked rolls and butter. Following these we were served a huge cup of French onion soup. The soup had a large slice of buttery toasted baguette on top. It was just the right amount of cheese. The salad came next and it was very generous. It had a mozzarella ball as well as tomatoes and cucumbers. Our steaks were brought and they were cooked exactly as ordered. As I indicated they were enormous. We could have shared the petite and had enough. Our left overs will feed us for the next few days. They were served with a twice baked potato. It was delicious. It was topped with cheddar cheese it was very creamy. The potatoes themselves were very big. Our total bill came to $101 which we thought was very reasonable for the amount of food we got. read more

Great supper club. The food is ALWAYS well prepared, fresh, and well worth the price tag. You get many courses and they are well spaced out. I am usually full by the time I get my main which is always HUGE. I have had various steaks, pork chops, salmon, and lamb. I highly recommend the lamb, however, all have exceeded my expectations. It's a white tablecloth (actually, pink tablecloth) establishment, but you will find people dressed up for an anniversary and people dressed down out for a casual dinner for friends. This is a true family-run restaurant with the owner hosting/serving and his mother turning out wonderful meals in the kitchen. Do not drop by and expect them fit you in. I saw three groups try to walk in last night without a reservation and get turned away. Make reservations well in advance around the Thanksgiving to New Years time frame. Free street parking or a free public lot across the street. I recommend the chicken wings app, then either New York, Ribeye, or fillet steak. You can have either a regular or loaded baked potato. Fries are fresh cut. Wow, a real find in Evanston, Wyoming. A tiny place in the old part of town that only has 12-15 tables and my sister in law had to make a reservation a month in advance. First they brought out a veg plate, then appetizers, then soup, then salad, then rolls with butter, then entrees, then a cinnamon roll-type dessert. I got chicken but here are pics of the steaks. These were the 'medium' size steaks and at least 24 oz - there is a 'large' steak as well. No sauces (steak sauce, ketchup), no sour cream or butter for baked potatoes, just salt and pepper. And church tables. But what it lacks in ambience it makes up for in quantity and quality of food. If you are looking for a huge protein hit this is the place for you. Was able to secure a same-day reservation for an early dinner on a Friday night in late July. The Mr. and I both ordered a medium sized ribeye. His was to be med/well and mine med/rare. Both arrived perfectly done! Super huge and thick cut. Incredible to get a ribeye that size and perfectly tender and tasty. They know their stuff. We estimated each rib eye was 20 oz or better. Ate about 1/4 of each and took the rest home. Sliced it into strips, packaged in portion sizes and had two more excellent dinners. Worth every penny and more. Hurry up and make a reservation. Love this place. I have stopped everytime I'm driving through for the last 3 years and will continue. The portions are great (large), most upper resturants with service like this cuts the size of everything. The free onion soup is awesome, and I dont like onions. I do not have the words for the Rib Eye. Has to be my favorite in the entire USA. The flavor is perfect. Still only get the Regular one, cant finish this one, I know the large would hurt me. Doesn't much stand out when you walk in either... but don't let the eclectic old vibe fool you, this restaurant is one for the books!! I checked out the reviews before we decided on this restaurant for my son's birthday dinner. We are moving across the country and were just passing through Evanston. Here's my take: Make a reservation! Seating is VERY limited and they are only open for a short amount of time. Order appetizers at your own risk! I warned my husband that the reviews said the entrees were huge, as usual he didn't listen! He ordered the hot wings and the fried mushrooms. Both were very good! My son said the wings were the best he's ever had. I ordered the "petite" ribeye... It was ginormous! No joke, I brought 2/3 of it back to the hotel. I ordered it medium and it came out cooked perfectly. Not kidding when I say this was the BEST ribeye I've ever had! I ordered the twice baked potato as the side and it was fabulous! My husband ordered the regular size filet mignon, it was easily 5" high and 24 oz. And delicious!! Cooked perfectly medium and so tender! My son ordered the veal cutlets and a side of fried shrimp. He was thrilled with his meal. The veal was super tender and delicious, and the shrimp was some of the best we've had. All three meals came with soup, salad, bread (YUMMM), and dessert! None of us could finish our meals. And last but not least, our servers were amazing!! My glass was never empty and they were very friendly and attentive! Called to ask if we could get a reservation and I assume the owner answered. He was an ass! I called at 5:38 pm on Saturday and asked if he had any available openings for dinner. He said no. Then I asked how far out he booked up and how soon we'd need to call in advance. His exact reply with attitude "Well, you usually need to call at least a day or two in advance, not you know, 6:00 at night." We had had a long Saturday and had decided at the last minute to head on a drive up the canyon to visit our property and possibly stop and eat in Evanston. So when I called it was because I had read good reviews about his place. Being so rudely treated was a huge turn off. I'm not interested in trying this place now. This place is awesome. Driving through "downtown" Evanston. The buildings are old and kind of run down. You see a sign in the window Bon Rico. Don't let the appearance from outside fool you! If you drive by you will miss out on one of the best places to eat in Wyoming. Jackson Restaurants have nothing on this place when it comes to food! First, let me say I'm from TX and we have the best steak! I've been living in CO and we have good (not great) steak. My hubby read the reviews and wanted to try Bon RIco on our way to Sun Valley. Best steak ever!!! And cooked to perfection: crispy seared on outside, wrapped in bacon, and pink inside. We had the filet and they have three sizes/ small is 12 oz (for real), medium is 16 oz and large is 24 oz!!! We split the med and still huge! But we each ate every bite. The beef tenderloin is superb. The staff is friendly, kind and helpful. They have a great drink menu and wine list. They're located right in Evanston, which is an interesting place to find such a great restaurant as most things in Evanston are geared toward travelers grabbing gas along the I-80. From the minute we walked into this restaurant we were in awe. The waitress is fantastic and so kind and helpful and the food is just amazing. We were given a plate of cold veggies to start and then the good just kept coming. French onion soup, a gourmet salad and the unbelievable steaks were the highlight but the sides of fresh bread and potatoes were also spectacular. We drove home to Illinois from Sonora California. By the time we stopped in Evanston we had been on the road for a few days. What an incredible but welcome surprise! We ordered expecting an entree, drinks, maybe desert. What we received was AMAZING! Multiple courses that reflected artistry in preparation and quality ingredients.
