Dover Sole
Judy K.

Haven't been here in a while but came for my friend's birthday dinner. Atmosphere is great and boy what a water view! It's a little pricey but the food was definitely good. I got the duck and highly recommend! Even had some leftover and it tasted even better the next day. Hubby got a burger and honestly expected more for a high scale place. He's had better Burgers at just your regular pubs. Neighbors got the grouper and the dover sole and said it was fantastic. Also got the lobster bisque definitely 5 stars and they even put the lobster in there first to make sure you get it in your soup. Beers a little pricey $6 domestic bottles and not ice cold. Just a suggestion to keep them on ice or turn up the cooler. Service great Nenad very nice waiter and the manager even came over to say hi! Just overall a great experience and we will be back

My favorite place on the water! Where the service & food matches the spectacular view. The newer Marina Bar daily specials are great. However. It's really the service I come back for, especially the newer bar staff like Bobby. Crabby Bills made a wise decision when they purchased it by bringing in new talent while updating a stale menu. I hope they continue their success with talent that can match and maintain a high level of service for this to stay the shining star of Dunedin and Pinellas County. PS Their inside facilities offer a great place for a special evening without worrying about weather conditions....same view.

Dining at Bon Appétit on the water in Duncan was an unforgettable experience. The peaceful waterfront setting made the fantastic meal feel extra special, and the service truly elevated the evening. Nikki went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. I had purchase a wine glass and it had a slight crack I did not notice and the manager, Christian, handled it with genuine care and professionalism. He is mailing me a new one no questions asked. Their attention to detail and commitment to making our visit perfect turned the night into a wonderful memory that left us feeling completely taken care of.

My parents really love to come here when they are in Florida and wanted to go there to celebrate my mom's birthday. We were sat in the back by the window, so we had a nice view. It is extremely loud and we had a hard time hearing each other and our server. Service overall was just okay. Drinks: - Key Lime Pie Martini - very sweet and tasted like flavored eggnog. sent back - Pomegranate Martini - not made consistently. My mom's was much sweeter than mine. Good, but nothing special - Almond Old Fashioned - this was nice. The almond was a nice change from a normal old fashioned Appetizers/Entrees: - Prosciutto & Date Flatbread - this had a nice amount of proscuitto, but there was too much balsamic dressing as it overpowered the whole dish - Spanish Octopus - TINY! It has nice flavor, but there's not a lot of octopus in it, which defeats the purpose - Seared Sesame Ahi Tuna - very nice flavor, but they only gave 6 pieces of tuna and 3 wonton chips for nearly $30 - Cedar Plank Salmon - best thing we got. It's the only dish that had the perfect amount of everything and was enjoyable to eat. The cedar gives the salmon a very nice flavor - Port Wine Glazed Pork Osso Bucco - disgusting mushroom risotto. Pork was undercooked so we had to send it back to be fixed. Came back cooked correctly and tasted decent. They gave a good amount of pork. This place is ridiculously pricey for the small amount you get for most of the dishes. Lots of issues with our visit and it just isn't a relaxing place to eat with how loud it gets. 2.5 stars overall.

We made dinner reservations here weeks ago. Bon Appétit Restaurant & Marina Bar is a landmark waterfront restaurant in Dunedin. It is known for its panoramic views of St. Joseph Sound, fresh seafood, and American/European cuisine since 1976. It offers both indoor dining with reservations and outdoor seating at the marina cafe, with options for lunch, dinner, and special diets, plus a full bar and live music. The atmosphere is considered sophisticated yet relaxed, I was surprised the by 8 o'clock. Everybody had emptied out.. We sat at a round table facing the sunset, beautiful. Miguel waited on us, he was attentive. Six of us ordered delicious seafood. I really enjoyed my Aji tuna, my husband, his grouper sandwich, friends, the oysters, the octopus and lobster roll. Portions were generous prices were reasonable and presentation was gorgeous. We celebrated a birthday and our table enjoyed a complementary glass of Prosecco. We weren't rushed and happy to be able to enjoy a relaxing dinner.

The calamari was so light and crispy and the space was relaxed and pleasant. But the best part of the experience was our server Daniel who was witty, charismatic and attentive. He made us want to come back! Tomorrow!!

Once again another great visit. We decided to take our bikes here, and yes they have a bike racks. We enjoyed a lighter side of only drinks and salads. Great bartenders and service again. They had a band outside and it was great music and vibe. We will be back.

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Wow! This place did not disappoint! Made reservations three days ahead of time for a Friday evening. We were seated right on time and the place was vibing both at the outdoor bar and restaurant. Perfect place to watch the sunset! Started with the bacon wrapped shrimp - so so good! I ordered the Land and Sea (3 scallops and filet medallions) and it was delicious! Scallops were a good size and filet tips were a nice portion. My husband ordered the pistachio crusted rack of lamb. Cooked to perfection, super tender and the homemade mint jam was amazing! After dinner, we headed out to the outside bar and it was such a great way to end the evening. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice dinner with great service!

Went to Bon Appetit for our anniversary. We are seated at a table with a wonderful view. The service was very attentive. Even though we reserved it 30 minutes before our reservation, they had a happy anniversary card at our table. Most of the food was very good. Our appetizer was very good. it was from their 250 celebration menu. I got the surf and turf and signature salad. The salad, can't remember the year it was named after, would give Columbia's 1905 salad a run for its money. I really enjoyed it. The surf and turf was quite expensive for what you got and the filet portion was of a disappointing size and quality. I have cooked a lot of steaks, including filet. the three tiny pieces had grizzle and seemed like they were the trimmings of the filet. It was disappointing, but the scallops saved the dish. Even though they did not have a good sear, Ramsey would have thrown them on the floor, they were some of the best tasting scallops I have had in a long time. Flavor 6 Star, sear, 3 Star. My wife had the sole, prepared table side. One of the most expensive things on the menu, it has quite small. My wife, who is not a big eater, left hungry. She ordered the Brussel sprouts and was disappointed. She took them home and never ate them. She never throws left overs away but did this time. It was the only significant miss of the evening. So view and service were 5 star. Food was probably 3 star, so the rating is 4 star. Not sure we would intentionally go back, it is about an hour away from our house, but if we were in the area, we might go again.

Crab artichoke salad

Came here with my girlfriend for dinner after dark. We had the best table inside--in the corner of the full-glass wall, but we couldn't see the water. Bummer. That would have been amazing! The restaurant has great water views if you come during the day. They also have an extensive outdoor area with a bar and live music, which is on the parking lot side. Our server, whose name I didn't catch, has been there about 40 years. The menu is a classic American upscale menu with many options. I ordered the crab and artichoke salad and we split a side of the mushroom risotto. I also had a dirty martini, which was generous. They brought rolls and butter, as well. The salad was DELICIOUS and the crab on it was generous. I only ate half and took the rest home for lunch the next day. It had brioche toasts that were so good! The mushroom risotto was meh, in my opinion. We also shared the flourless chocolate cake, which was huge and delicious, came with sliced strawberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream with, I think, chopped pistachios. A good date spot or special night out.

The service was great. The food was good, but a little pricey, but expect nothing less for being on the water. The ambiance, oh my, I was at the bar, where I was treated like family but the outside is right on the water. Absolutely beautiful. Sorry the only pics I have are of sunset. The people kept me so engaged in conversation I forgot to take more.

We came here for our anniversary. Was nice to be able to make reservations and have our request met for a window seat so we could watch the beautiful sunset. Service was on it- always stopping by to check on us. The fish spread for the appetizer was quite decent--nothing extraordinary, but what you'd expect anywhere along Florida's coast. The real highlight was the lively bar area, which seemed to buzz with energy as the sun dipped below the horizon. We took a leisurely stroll out to the water's edge, capturing breathtaking photos of the sunset that painted the sky in hues of gold and rose. It's clear this spot enjoys stunning sunsets every evening. We're already planning our return on a Friday or Saturday night to experience the magic again, especially because they have a bagpiper who serenades the sunset, adding a touch of enchantment to an already picturesque scene.

To celebrate 44 years of marriage we chose Bon Apetit for its view of the Gulf & past experiences. We wanted to eat at a classy restaurant, and Bon Apetit seemed the perfect place. We were seated by the window, next to an empty corner table. Unfortunately the couple who eventually occupied that spot watched YouTube or other videos on their phones and we heard numerous times the wedding music in those videos. They were less distracting than the two couples next to us. Their loud conversations made it impossible for us to hear each other as we spoke quietly to one another. We finally abandoned our conversation and took out our smart phones. The food was okay. My husband's ribeye was tough and chewy. It was medium more than the requested medium rare. He thoroughly enjoyed his mashed potatoes, and I enjoyed mine. The butternut squash was the best I have ever had. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Our server was adequate. He took our orders. Someone else delivered our steaks. We do not recall him returning until it was time to pay the bill. This was a less than memorable way to spend our anniversary.

Top notch service, some food was delicious while some was nothing special. Everything should be absolutely amazing for the price.
