Its an Indian street food joint , all stuff on the menu is authentic indian street food, but not the taste.. it's okay when you crave for it and missing home. Nothing is awesome or exceptional or great but nothing is bad either :) when you are in the vicinity, can go for it, as they have good sitting area, particularly patio.

Great place to get chaat in the area! We order the samosa chaat and the masala fries. The masala fries was a little out there, but it was still nice as it was flavored fries with ketchup and chutneys. The samosa chaat was tasty and flavorful, especially when you are craving for chaat.

Stopped by for a quick snack with my fam. They have a lot of outdoor and indoor seating along with a pretty large menu but we stuck with Indian snacks. We got bhel puri, chat Papdi & masala fries. Everything was delicious and did not disappoint!! Would definitely visit again.

If you are looking at having chaat, please be kind to yourself and don't order from this place. Everything we ordered from here was of very bad quality. We ordered pani puri and did not get any chat water with it so couldn't have it at all. For the Dahi puri, it was a self assemble format and hardly any ingredients were given to even make that happen. The vada pau was stale and the only saving grace for it was the chutney. The pan that we ordered had a sub par taste and was not fresh. When I called the restaurant to talk about this and was angry while talking to them about my experience and told them that you can't serve shit to people for the price you are charging, I was misbehaved with. All in all, a very disappointing experience. There are a lot of restaurants trying to do their best to serve the community with the right quality and taste. Please support them. This place either doesn't care or has a reputation that they think is not worth protecting.

I keep calling this place Bombay COWPATTY by mistake, which ensues immediate fits of giggling. Jokes aside, this place puts the BOMB in Bombay. They serve up typical Indian chaats which are snacks served at street stalls in India. LG and I ordered some snacks for our takeaway picnic - Veg Pakoras, Samosa Chaats and Paneer Kathi Rolls. The first two were fairly average but the Paneer Kathi Rolls were pretty awesome and unique, I'd eat those again! (Described as "Mashed paneer sauteed with onions and tomatoes, rolled inside a flakey plain parantha with chutneys"). Whilst waiting for our takeout order, we also oredered a Dahi Bhalla, which was lentil dumplings* served cold slathered in a yoghurt sauce with cumin and cilantro. These were awesome. I need to go back and try some of the other messier items which the server ensured us would NOT travel well, sigh. Plain set up inside with plastic chairs, etc - it's definitely a takeaway joint but they do have a nice outdoor patio area. It's cheap - no dishes over $5.99 *OMG WTF Indian dumplings?!?!?!

I was so much missing the indian street food and and chaat pakori. My day visit to gerrar street ended on a high note. Golgappas were simply awesome. Sevooori lived upto its expectation. The best part of this place was the chutney or imli sauce or tamarind sauce whatever you want to call it. To curb your craving for indian chaat papri this is a perfect place.

We checked-in while strolling at Gerrard East and got hungry. We, vegetarians were immediately attracted by their sign promising goodies meant for us. When stepped in we were a bit confused, as the place looked a video store at first glance...on a Sunday afternoon the place was empty, but we noticed that the tables were still dirty and so was the floor. Anyway we had hard time to choose what we wanted, as the prices were good and food was appealing. We ended up getting vegetarian burgers and asked for a cup of water, served thankfully in a jug and plastic cups. Also we asked to clean our table before sitting down. So it is not a place you take your sweetheart to enjoy a private dinner. The food tasted good or rather A-OK, the mock patty was a bit too hot for me (hahhaa, yeah, I am tender like that) and the bread was a bit dry. Since it was a light snack didn't feel very stuffed afterwards, but that is my own problem anyway. But we are thinking of giving this place another chance. While writing this I can't wait to get home and prepare my dahl...

The service was fast, and asp the ambience is quite nice. We ordered a royal non veg platter which had a mix of apps, such as chicken tikka, haryali chicken, fish, seekh kebab and shrimps. This platter was served with three dips - mint, Kali mirch, and tamarind. This platter was a burst of flavours are paired well with the dips and also was very filling. We also ordered mains where we tried the Chicken Tikka paired with the special naan. The mains chicken was okay but I loved the grilled platter before. Overall it was a very nice experience and the food presentation and taste was top quality. I'll highly recommend it to anyone looking for Indian cusine in downtown Toronto!!

They gave us a whole garlic naan as it is uncut in the foil and that was very impressive! Really cool that they did that cuz most restaurants just cut it up and give it to you if you want it to go. Naan itself was very fresh and flavorful. They didn't really put any butter on top which was quite nice. So just a classic lovely garlic naan. Dahi Kebab appetizer - so yum! It was really flavorful on its own, and with that mint chutney it was even better! Husband loved the Malai Kofta ! Curry was properly creamy and even the koftas themselves were good. I needed it a little spicy so added a bit of spice to it and it was perfect. They also had a promotion going on for free samosas with an order of $50 or more. So they gave us four samosas on the house! So nice of them. Husband definitely enjoyed these.

The food itself was good, but I had issues with each. The biryani was flavorful, but had a bit too much salt and meet at the yoghurt sauce to balance it out. The curry that came with the fish was delicious, however, the type of fish they used had so many bones and it was impossible to figure out under the thick orange sauce if what you were putting in your mouth was all bone or fish. It made for a very unpleasant eating experience for a person use to eating fresh fish. Worth a try but won't be back

The interior is nothing short of opulent: rich earthy tones, elegant dark green accents, and warm ambient lighting conspire to create a dining room that feels both regal and inviting, a space where one might genuinely dine as royalty. The kitchen demonstrates real command of Indian cuisine. Flavours arrive bold, layered, and unapologetically intense -- each dish speaking with the confidence of a well-rehearsed tradition. The breads, in particular, deserve special mention: naan emerges from the tandoor piping hot, beautifully blistered with charred grill marks, and with a texture that is at once pillowy and satisfyingly crisp. One could make a meal of the bread alone and leave content. Where the experience falters slightly is in pacing. A midweek lunch -- the dining room far from full -- still saw dishes arrive at a leisurely tempo more suited to a languid evening affair than a working professional's lunch hour. For a restaurant of this calibre, tightening the rhythm of service during daytime covers would elevate the experience considerably. That said, the wait is not without reward. What emerges from the kitchen is genuinely exceptional -- the sort of cooking that lingers in memory. Urban Maharajas is a destination that honours its namesake: lavish, flavourful, and fit for royalty. One simply hopes the court learns to keep pace with its guests.

Helpful, efficient, very nice! The restaurant itself is a modern space beautifully decorated. We ordered an app, two mains, garlic naan, and some rice. The mains were butter chicken and a goat curry both medium spice level. That worked well for us--medium let you know it was there without blowing out your tastebuds. We both ordered mango lassi, not too sweet, the dairy is a good counterpoint to the spice, the flavor was great. But I'm saving the best for last, the appetizer. The pani poori shots were amazing. Six crispy little puffs filled with chick peas, potato, and tamarind chutney set atop shot glasses containing a spicy "water". We were instructed to pour the contents of the shot glass into each puff and eat the whole thing in one bite. Wow! Incredible flavors and overall eating experience! I only regret not ordering three more plates of these! This was a lovely experience on a frigid cold New Year's night!
