FAIL from the start…read more Was told extra patties were a no go. Was told I would have to order additional burgers and put them together... first off... I don't eat bread... adding patties is a thing nearly everywhere save a few hold outs... this should have been a red flag bit I thought I'd go for it... ordered the 'HUGE' burger which was alleged to be 1/2 # pre cook weight... Not even. Well perhaps... The staffers were friendly enough but swore up and down they were NOT allowed. Like I said, very-Very few places can't figure this out... Now, so as not to be a very difficult type... I order just the said burger with no bun no grilled onions no ketchup cheddar style... I was delivered american cheese and grilled onions with the bun. . Thought about it, took it back to the counter told the young man they failed again adequate it really wrong and walked out with no drink, no food... my choice but by this point aggravated outright. I'm sitting in the parking lot writing this and a young lady approaches the vehicle and wants to talk and in an effort to make it right offers to remake. I express my disdain for no added patty (I'll pay for the patties like everywhere else) policy, I decline her offer and tell her to look over her shoulder across the highway.... I explain that while I prefer small and local companies, I am headed to McDonald's where I will order a double quarter pounder with cheese, I'll order 6 additional patties and they will make it for me correctly without bun or other stuff I choose not to eat. Not a good start for this little company... I wont be back, nor should any carnivore who eats this way. ****Update**** Decided to hit the local Wendy's instead. Their product is below in the picture.

I was impressed with their meal offering, selection and quality throughout - Skyline's service was attentive and warm - despite my wife bringing an issue to her that lacked clear communication. Later Neets spoke with the Head Server who assisted the situation and they "went good" on things. "It's nice to know that Kings stands-behind their food and their staff! EVERYONE CAN MAKE A MISTAKE - We will be back and Neets may order something different from her "go-to" faire. FYI : King's dining room looks just like it did when my wife worked there some 30 years ago! A Kinston Landmark! Bon appetite

Kings is a very comfortable establishment. Everyone seemed like they had been doing the same things…read morethe same ways for a long time. The restaurant itself felt comfortable as well: the table tops were worn, the small booths felt worn, the decorative metal siding was oxidized, and even the plates and silverware seemed worn. This comfortable atmosphere also persisted with our meals. I tried the beef tips and they were OK after I added a pinch of salt. The portion was adequate but not especially generous. Likewise, my yams were not very sweet and served in an unusually dark sauce. The brunswick stew, which I paid an extra $1 for, had a strong smoky BBQ flavor but oddly had peas in it. While my sides were not very good, it just felt like they were the prepared the same way they had been prepared for many years. My dining companion enjoyed her grilled pork chop, noting that it was clearly cooked to order, but thought her string bean side was really mushy, seasoned poorly, and just not good. The basket of hush puppies was a complete and utter failure: cold, undercooked, greasy and flavorless. blah. Our server clearly enjoyed being comfortable too. Unfortunately, we needed refills on our beverages and the extra effort impacted her comfortableness. So sorry, not sorry. Kings seems like the sort of restaurant that meanders along until one day they realize they lost the qualities that made them successful in the first place years ago and they drift away into oblivion. There's a cost to being comfortable. Not recommended.

Like a lot of people who have tried CFA, I am a complete and total Kool-Aid drinker. I believe in…read moretheir product not only because of the flavor but mostly on account of the chain's shocking ability to be consistent even though they're all franchises which at most chains would equate to an all over the place experience. We rumbled in here on a weekday after what most would consider a traditional lunch time to find the usual shit storm that most CFA's have which is how do you get on to the property? The drive thru line is backed up around the store and 95% of the parking spaces are taken. We were committed to eating inside and thankfully got one of the only tables available. The order process is as expected with one problem. They are out of lemonade. The girl at the register half fills our cups and said that they were making more but that it would be 10-15 minutes at least until it would be ready. Grumble. Grumble. Whatever. The food makes it's way to our table about 10 minutes later and it tastes as expected with the nugs, wrap and sandwich. One of the employees finally comes out with the five gallon bucket they mix the lemonade in and fills the container. At that time you see myself and four other people descend like locusts with around ten cups looking for refills or in our case, the part of the fill we actually paid for but never received. I hope they had more on the way past that because what they brought out was not going to last long at all. On a side note, one of the employees was walking around table to table telling people that they are going to be piloting a program in the near future where you'll be able to pre-order food via the app and when you come in it'll be brought to you at a table restaurant style. Is that good or bad? I don't know. I've never heard of it locally where I live but I don't do apps so whatever. Like pretty much all other CFA locations I've ever been to the food is solid and that's what keeps me coming back for more. But in the future CFA should really consider building stores with larger seating and parking components. This isn't your typical fast food place where the bulk on the business is done via the drive thru. No, CFA does a fair amount of business with people choosing to eat in. Hopefully they figure that out in the future especially if they're going to try things that resemble quasi-sit down restaurant service.

Another thing that isn't that big of a deal but just shows how the service has gotten worst, is how they don't even say "my pleasure" anymore.
