If your coming to the Broiler Pit for a quick bite, save yourself the trouble and just stay at the bar. Bi Jacks is an experience. One to be enjoyed with friends and family. The restaurant is downstairs and the atmosphere is fun. The wait, management, and even the cooking staff all went out of their way to see that we had a good time and all our needs were met. We went to celebrate a couple of birthdays and just get together with family from all over just before Christmas. Megan was our waitress and she delighted us with exceptional service and even recommended chocolate cake all around. I didn't realize it was a shit but it made for quite an experience for us as we were visiting our grandkids. So glad we spent the time and the food was awesome. Prime rib- perfect medium rare. Shrimp- more than one person could handle. The porky chop filled the plate and the spaghetti that comes along with every meal had a nice kick if pepper. Best service I've had while working in Lewiston. Prime rib was worth coming back for again. They serve bread and butter to start I had French onion soup instead of salad. Apparently an institution in the LC Valley, it comes across as a novelty. Beer served in the can with no glass offered or expected, but it adds to the ambience. Like you're eating at a banquet in some Elks Lodge basement, not an actual restaurant. Staff are friendly and attentive enough but the food is overpriced relative to the quality, but certainly not quantity. The sheer quantity of food you receive before your main course arrives is almost comical, it's enough food to feed two people a full meal before your dinner even arrives. Mini bread loaf is cute but underwhelming and the whipped butter is snow white with no apparent butterfat content, in fact I was unsure what it even was before tasting it. Salad is iceberg mix straight out of a bag with store bought croutons, that's it. As phoned-in a salad you could ever have. Their signature spaghetti course also tastes apparently store-bought, totally generic red sauce that might be homemade but they sure could've fooled me if it's not straight out of a bottle. After all this disappointing fare, the main finally arrives. I ordered the Valley's signature dish, bite size steak with fried prawns, both of which were actually quite good. However, I would be very surprised if the prawns were actually breaded in house, they were likely pre-breaded and frozen. The bite size is served with the typical prime rib accoutrement of beef jus and creamed horseradish. The steak is apparently coated in some type of light breading or batter before being fried but it's not really crispy at all and it was certainly under salted. Had a pretty nice flavor otherwise and was quite tender but I fail to understand the hype surrounding eating steak in this format - as a number of 2-3oz pieces rather than a single, whole steak. I'll chalk it up to a novelty in my case but the locals can't seem to get enough. Overall a disappointing, albeit novel, experience. Worth trying once but unlikely to return. Would've been a much more satisfying meal worth an extra star if it were just the steak course without all of the other fodder beforehand and the meal were about $6-10 cheaper. read more

Very unassuming from the outside but once you are inside and seated you realize why this place has been around for so long. The service was great and the food was the cherry on top. Very large portions with complimentary spaghetti while you wait for your steak. I highly recommend! read more

My daughter made RESERVATIONS for 8 with Bojacks, We arrived on time actually 15 minutes early. We were told they were busy and don't make reservations which is BS. They told use to return in 50-60 minutes and would try to get us in. I asked to speak to manager and talked with her. She said reservations were no guarantee to get a seat. I thought that was what a reservation was. She made no attempt to resolve their mistake other that come back in an hour and they would try to get us in. WORST service I have ever had. Don't waste your time. Try Seasons down the street or Brava's. They have great food and excellent bite size. BoJack's thinks too much of themselves. read more

The bar that you have to go through to get to this place is a a total dive and I'm not sure I'll ever understand why they chose to put one of the best Prime Rib spots in the NW in the basement of a bar. That said, this place is amazing; hands down, the best Prime Rib I've ever had, and the French Onion soup is to die for. read more

I've dined here twice now, once in October 2010 and then again this last week. Both times the steaks were prepared perfectly. Portions are generous and the bar upstairs is friendly and has a great staff. Not much that I've found in the Clarkston/Lewiston area but every time I come to town I'll be eating at Bo Jack's! read more

Great atmosphere. Home town hospitality. Went with a group of 6 men. We all left full. Portions are great AND they throw in spaghetti with you meal. I had the bite sized steak and shrimp with onion rings. It was all delicious. Also tried the Pepper steak - it was definitely peppery - Not for the faint of heart! The Prime Rib "normal" portion was HUGE and cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend BoJacks if you are in Clarkston. I will be back. read more

So, my wife and I went here for dinner tonight. Let me level set the expectations. If you're looking for a 5 star, white table cloth, sommelier restaurant, this is not your restaurant. I read a review from someone that gave it a low review and evidently, that person was expecting something different. This restaurant is a great local restaurant that caters to the locals and others and provides very good food. You can't beat the service. I've been to very expensive restaurants and got way worse service and paid a lot more. Everyone was very friendly and wanted to make your experience very special. Your get soooo much food. And it's very good. I had the steak bites and I would have them again in a heart beat. My wife had the prime rib and it couldn't have been better. You get bread and butter, (yes, it's real butter. Not like the reviewer described.) The bread comes nice a warm. Then you get your choice of soup or salad. MY KIND OF SALAD!!!! NOT FANCY. OLD SCHOOL. Then out of no where, your get spaghetti and sauce. And its good. If we ate all the food they gave us prior to our entrees, we wouldn't be hungry. We ate half of the spaghetti and we still could finish out entrees. Once again, when we finished our meal we asked each other, " is this a do over?" Most definitely!! Not because of the quantity of food, but because of the service and quality. Like I've said, I've been to restaurants and spent hundreds of dollars on a meal and left wondering what I just paid for. What a cool place. I could totally see some rat pack guys getting a table here. It's not super over the top classy but entering through what you know used to be a smokey bar, being directed to the stairs for the restaurant, venturing down a set of winding stairs and finding a small cozy steak house was so cool! Let me warn you now, the portions are massive! Go with the smaller prime rib! The baked potato is killer, whatever it is they put on it, Claude have mercy, it's good. Once you place your order the waitress, who was awesome, told us we are getting spaghetti because it's tradition while you wait for your steak. Lol, ok, we are from the south and the two don't really go together but wait until you try the spaghetti, it's awesome. If your a French onion soup fan, get it, it's bang'n, like the best part of the bottom of the pot good, that region where all the heavy parts, the well cooked onions, the most savory bits go. Should have gone with a medium rare, that would be my only change, medium was a little too done. Besides that, you should go. Almost always good food, usually VERY busy. Not good for handy-cap access or those who find it difficult to do stairs, you could sit in the bar but that area is EXTREMELY noisy & hard to find a table, also no free spaghetti & bread. Plan on waiting 20+ minutes for a table if you go after 6pm--they're that busy & that good. You do have to go through the bar to get down stairs. The spaghetti & bite size are always good, but sometimes spaghetti is really spicy & sometimes only a little spicy (a little spicy is best :) ). The bite size this last time was way overdone on the outside, although the inside was good. All the servers are pretty good. Shari is the best one. Wish they had an elevator or a way to get to them without stairs. read more

Not allot of charm, but this place was so good! The wait was only a few minutes and there was a pitcher of water on the table. I loved this bc I drink allot of water. Friendly staff. Meals came with soup or salad, spaghetti, bread and a side item. My friend had ribeye and said it was really good. I had the prime rib and loved it! We had the best dinner I have had in years here. I had the Teriyaki Steak and my friend had Prime Rib, both of us were extremely satisfied with our choices. The atmosphere was relaxed and our waitress was forgetful, but friendly. We were surprised with a loaf of homemade bread, warm butter and a plate of spaghetti while waiting for our meal, which we found out is served with every order. The main dinning room is in the basement and required walking through the middle of the lounge, which we thought was a little strange, but all in all this place deserves 5 stars. They plates are priced high @ 29.00 - 40.00 a piece, for our selections, but worth every bit as delicious as they were. read more

I love going to BoJacks, especially for the ambience. The staff work their tails off and set the bar for customer service. I'm giving it 3 stars in hopes that the owner(s) know that customers can tell the difference between freshly cooked and precooked meat. My husband and I both ordered prime rib, my husband the maxi and me regular. You could tel the meat was precooked and had a refrigerated taste to it. It was tough to cut and chew. Hopefully this review goes noticed because it's a great place that we look forward to going to, but shouldn't be served old, precooked meat. Was told by locals I should try this place. Not exactly sure why, since everything I had was inedible. I ordered their spaghetti and meatball dinner because my stomach wasn't feeing up to anything too greasy. It looked good when it came out, but looks were deceiving. The sauce was all pepper, literally the only spice I could taste in the dish. The meatballs were bland. I had about two bites of spaghetti, tried it with parmesan (which didn't help) and then gave up on it. I also tried the French onion soup. Bad idea. It smelled really good, but was overall a hot mess. Not a traditional French onion soup, but a sad attempt at a less complicated version. The only thing I enjoyed even a little bit was their complimentary bread, which they actually made me pay for. Soooo...they didn't make me pay for the spaghetti, which was the least they could do. This place was recommended to us by a fellow who works at the hotel we were staying. My husband ordered the New York steak. I had the Halibut. His steak was huge and cooked perfectly. He can eat alot and he only finished half the steak. I loved the French onion soup! Fantastic! My halibut was nothing special. I wouldn't recommend it but I did think the rice pilaf was very good. My favorite though wss the spaghetti! !! Omg! I never order spaghetti at a restaurant but this came with our meal, and Im glad it did. Most delicious sauce ever! My husband and I both agreed we would go back for the spaghetti alone. Yes it was that good!!! In fact I cant wait to go back again and when I do I'll be ordering extra to bring home! read more

Carnivores unite! To get to this restaurant you have to go through a bar on the upper floor, then use the stairs to get down to the restaurant. While that's a bit weird, it's worth it for the food. The steaks are exactly that: made exactly how you like them with all the trimmings. And the prices are really reasonable. Expect to see locals wearing cowboy boots and jeans. You will feel out of place if you dress up. Avg price per plate is around $18 and another few bucks for a beer. The place opens at 6pm Wed-Sat. Fri and Sat nights are just plain crazy, but the food's still good. read more

The best place I've found in North Central Idaho for a steak. I think I'd really give it a 4.5, but it is currently rated as 3.5 so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Location is odd, the basement of a seedy, smokey bar. Soldier through that and go right downstairs. I've had the peppered steak which was good and steak with prawns which was even better. Entree comes with a side of spaghetti, which is decent and adds something unique to the place. The mini loaves of bread with thick butter is quite good too. More than enough food for a big appetite like mine and to even take some home for another meal or snack. I'd definitely give it try if you're in or near Lewiston. read more

Yummy! First, very nice and friendly service. Had a delicious and HUGE meal with my family last night. So big portions, good bang for your buck. The steak and trad scampi was so mouthwatering. House salad had great ranch, steak was prepared well, and yum! The mushrooms and shrimp! I only wish there was a gf menu or gf options. That bread they brought out to start with looked amazing. Bathrooms a bit hard to find (upstairs) so if you're eating downstairs know they aren't close and are quite small. read more

Hands down, best steak in town. The bite size steak is what this place is known for. The headliner here is bite size and broiled shrimp, which is darn good. All meals come with salad, spaghetti and bread and you won't go home hungry. Bojacks is a VERY CLASSIC old school steakhouse with excellent service, delicious prime rib and spaghetti free with every meal. We have only ever ordered the prime rib which always comes out perfectly cooked and hot (something hard to get with prime rib, it gets cold fast). I love the atmosphere though it can get a little warm inside the dining area. read more

The meal was average at best. The sides were Bland. But the service is why I'll never go beck. The wait staff were too busy playing on their phones and drinking their smirnoff ice (we could see the lable) to bother with refilling drinks.we literally had to wait 45 min. For our check. Pretty good. My rare prime rib was actually medium well. The spaghetti is crap, as well as the rice pilaf. Decent meat at a decent price though. The bite-sized steak my wife ordered was interesting and quite tender but lacked flavor. All in all I would do it again, but only after I exhausted other venues in town. Very friendly staff. read more
