I went on sunday afternoon and the place was super busy and the wait was about 30-45 minutes. Staff was really nice and helpful when ordering. Rikki served the food and helped us out and was very kind when we kept asking for help. I recently found out this place in the border of Rowland Heights and Walnut on Colima. I ordered a beef pot. I ended up had to pack to go and asked the waiter if I can pack the bean sauce to go because without the sauce it's not good. The waiter told me that they don't give the sauce. So I was like how am I going to eat without sauce. I ended up packing my food and then to find out they have sauce packets and he didn't even offer to give me. Came in to eat yesterday and the service was fantastic! Maria was our server and she gave us great recommendations. She was very friendly, attentive, and always one step ahead. All the staff were great and even refilled my broth before I had to ask. This location is more spacious than others and very clean--by far my favorite of all their locations. The food is excellent as always. I ordered the beef soup with the meat lover upgrade, and the portions were huge! Definitely one of my favorite soup spots. Horrible experience! If their goal was to make sure I never returned, they succeeded. Upgraded my rice to beef bowl and it was the most disgusting thing I have eaten. I literally scraped that slop they called beef off my rice and threw it in a cup. It tasted like the greasy burnt up pieces you scrape off the girl and throw away. The service was greatly lacking. From the get go, the waiter sat us down and walked away. Was expecting menus but instead we got nothing. Waiter comes by asking if we are ready and I said nope this is my first time here. No explanation, uncourteous, and each time we tried to flag them down, they ignored us. What's surprising is how tiny the place is, yet they couldn't bother to help us? Can't get any worse than before. I guess they are just under staffed. Went to this location after they moved from diamond plaza and the service was just bad. We put our number on the waitlist and they weren't that busy with table's opened but no call, so we went to them and said oh sorry will get your table ready. Then we waited for about 20 minutes for even a server to come over to take our order. I'm sorry but even tipping here makes no sense. Really disappointed by the service here. I arrived around 8:30-8:35 PM and joined the waitlist, but not a single staff member acknowledged us, no hello, no "we'll be right with you," nothing. There were four employees working (Jenar, Alex, and two others whose names I didn't catch), several open tables, and plenty of guests still eating, so it didn't seem like they were closed. After about 15 minutes with no acknowledgment or even a heads-up that they were done seating, we decided to leave. We went to the Chino Hills location instead and were greeted right away. I love Boiling Point and have never had an issue anywhere else, so this was especially disappointing. Hopefully the Walnut team can improve their hospitality and communication. read more

Last night, I went to the Boiling Point in Walnut (used to be in Diamond Plaza), and the new location is so much better more comfortable and organized. The service was amazing, especially from Vivie! She was super friendly, always smiling, and very quick to help. I asked her about my drink that hadn't arrived yet, and she brought it right away after that. Even though it was really busy, Vivie handled everything so well. I'll definitely come back again and I really hope there are more servers like her! My only suggestion is to add a few more servers since it gets quite busy and they seem short-staffed. Other than that, everything was perfect! read more

Before coming, I checked Yelp and saw Vivie had a lot of good reviews. I thought maybe it was just luck, but it turns out everything people said about her is true. Vivie was super friendly, always smiling, and really attentive. She checked on us often and responded quickly to anything my friends and I needed. She honestly made our visit so much better probably the best server I've ever had at any restaurant. I'll definitely come back again, and I hope Vivie will be there when I do! After we sat down, no one came to greet us for a good 10 minutes, we had to flagged down a trainee server to at least give us some water. The trainee said the server will come take our order soon, after waiting and looking around for another 5-8 minutes, no one came. As I was trying to signal a female server, she saw me but decided to ignore me and walked right walked past our table. So we stopped another server, she rudely said ok give me a few minutes. The restaurant was small, the menu selection was so so and the service was nonexistent. We decided to walk out and go somewhere else where we can be treated and respect as customers. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Wasted over 30 minutes of my life waiting for a table, bad communication, and terrible staff. I ended up leaving the restaurant before even ordering food because I couldn't stay any longer. The system to get on the waitlist is not great. It doesn't tell you what place you are in line or how long the estimated wait time is. Vivienne was trying to argue with us and kept talking in circles. She was no help and we asked to see a manager because I did not appreciate her attitude. The supervisor, Alex, was even more incompetent. He was no help and couldn't answer our questions directly, again talking in circles. He didn't apologize or try to resolve the issue. I find his excuse really hard to believe that management would get mad at a sign posted letting customers know that a promotion has ended. If management has this issue then clearly customer service is not a priority for this business as communication should be clear for customers of any establishment. The wait staff and management here need more training. (I will say the one exception of the night was the trainee - Christian he actually had good service, tried to answer our question, and let us know he would send another server over to help) Lastly, if a promotion is listed as running to a certain date this should be honored. If the deal ends then it should be mentioned everywhere that it has ended, there should be a sign near the entrance/door, a disclaimer on the website, a pop up when I'm looking at the digital menu, or a mention from the servers when I'm seated. It would've saved us a lot more time to have a disclaimer near the QR code to check in, so I don't waste time waiting for a table only to be disappointed. read more

Our food and drinks did not come until 40 minutes later. Julia spilled water onto my partner's phone but didn't even apologize or give us another napkin to clean it and just walked away. When we finally received our pots, they spilled a little of the soup onto my friend's hand and they did not ask if she was okay. When my other friend received her pot, it had no soup :/ it was a dry pot. We asked for more soup they looked annoyed to give us any. We wouldn't need to ask if we had any in the first place. This particular spot is a bit on the small and tight side, but still gets the job done. That said, my main feedback is about the winter melon tea/juice. It was overwhelmingly sweet -- almost undrinkable. For those that don't know, this location was previously the one in Diamond Plaza but they had moved. I wanted to try this new location to see if anything was different and I was surprised! The food was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot--exactly what you want from a hot pot place. The broths were rich and satisfying, with plenty of options to fit every mood and spice tolerance. What really made my visit stand out, though, was the service--especially from Kevin. From the moment we walked in, Kevin was very attentive and fast. He took the time to recommend pots based on our preferences and even gave tips on the best way to mix the sauces. Throughout the meal, he checked in just enough to make sure everything was perfect without ever feeling intrusive. Boiling Point is already known for its delicious food, but with staff like Kevin, it's an all-around exceptional dining experience. I got here because I am so tired with the BP in Chino, waiting time like forever. Location is a bit hard to find with small parking. She recommended us upgrade Beef hot pot order, I was hesitate as I am afraid I could not handle much, she was very smart telling me if you can not finish you can bring home, you get bigger portion and more beef. Sounds good to me so I got the upgrade one. Yes I can bring home if I can not finish why not try. During the time we eat, she was super fast. I got running nose due to the the heat from chili sauces, immediately without asking for more tissue like other places, she already place tissue on table with surprise from my husband and I. Wow, it is service in 5 star fine dining, I did not expect she noticed my need that fast. She move very fast to serve other tables with smile and happiness that you could feel. She kept checking on us how everything ok or not. I was impressed so much. We both work in luxury hotel so we made joke that we may want to hunt Vivi for our hotel restaurant. BP hot pot in other place the flavor is very bold and very flavorful even the sauce here the flavor is also not the same. What make BP is busy regardless how I hate waiting is the flavor and the dipping sauce. I wonder how come it happens when BP is a worldwide store chain but no consistency in their standard? I know all hotpot was frozen and packed, the store just need to heat them up but why there is too much difference right at this location!? Too much water added? That is the only big minus point for this location other than that the meat and veggie were very fresh, not old or cold burn like the meat we had in Chino location but the flavor is not there, completely no flavor.
