We utilized our vouchers for free hot soups on a Thursday evening. The parking lot is a little tight, but we found spots directly in front of the restaurant. We got seated at the last open table after arriving, and our server cleaned it after we sat down. Acknowledging they were understaffed, we had to follow up with requests a few times. However, he was apologetic and eventually got us everything we needed. The wait for the food wasn't long. The ambience was bustling and loud, but it is a small restaurant. We got the beef hot soup with no spice ($20.99) and milk cream curry hot soup with mild spice ($20.56). We got complementary rice for both orders and upgraded them to beef bowls ($1.45/each). As an appetizer, we got spicy cumin lamb ($7.01). I'm curious as to why they have such precise prices. The beef hot soup without spice was amazingly good. That was our favorite because the delicious beef broth permeated all the ingredients without the distraction of any spice. The bowl was filled with meat, though it had cabbage, tofu, and some seafood pieces. The milk cream curry had a good Thai flavor. It also came with a lot of fried tofu skin, which I enjoyed. I didn't really enjoy the beef bowls. For some reason, the beef came hardened and somewhat chilled. Also, it had a chili oil taste, which I didn't expect. Delicious hot pot place. My go to always for a tasty and warm hot pot experience. I like coming here because of the variety of flavors you can choose on their menu. I got their beef hot pot and it comes with a side of white rice or vermicelli noodles. I like the rice because you can ask for free refills and take the rest home. The side of vermicelli noodles aren't refillable. Plus the hot pot already comes with it inside so it's really not needed. Their soup base is refillable and they come around with a stainless steel tea pot to pour in your hot pot. Overall good dining experience. This Boiling Point is conveniently located off Fairway Drive, right across the street from the 168 Market Plaza. The parking lot has a somewhat awkward layout, but I easily found plenty of parking when I arrived around 2pm. Service can really vary across different Boiling Point locations, but my experience here on a Sunday was exceptionally good. The servers were incredibly attentive and constantly stopped by to check on our soup levels and refill our sauces. We ordered the beef and seafood hot pot, and the soup base was delicious with no complaints at all. The only minor note is that the mild spice level for the beef pot was significantly hotter than expected, tasting more like a medium. I have noticed this at a different location as well, so it might just be that the beef pot base naturally has some spice before they even add the requested heat level. Beyond the food and service, the ambiance here is fantastic. The restaurant has a very modern and revamped look that makes it feel much cleaner than some of the other shop locations. read more

Boiling Point finally opened a new location on the east side. I longer have to drive down to SGV to get my taiwanese hot pot fix. The location used to be at the Colima Burgers. The plaza used to be dead but now since BP has opened, the parking lot is always full. They get pretty busy during the dinner and lunch rush hours but overall the wait time isn't too bad. My favorite hot pot is the #1 House Special Hot Soup! If you are Taiwanese, you gotta get your stinky tofu fix!! So I love the flavor in the soup and all the other ingredients like pork blood cake, intestines and stinky tofu. You gotta have it with vermicelli instead of rice! Don't forget to use the garlic bean paste and the garlic sauce with your hot pot. You can also ask for to go packages if you don't end up finishing your pot. They offer to refill the pot with more soup so you can always take home and enjoy after you are done. For $20, it's totally worth it, it's a great bargain for the amount of food you are getting. I can usually make 2 meals out of it! You can't beat the price and the amount of food anywhere else for only $20. If you enjoy spicy flavor and a large pot size, you can order #8, Taiwanese Spicy! Drive by this location nearly everyday, and the wife wanted some hot pot, so we decided to finally check it out. Came in for dinner and it was still early so we were seated immediately. Nostalgia aside, this was the busiest id seen this location (regardless of the occupant) in decades, so it was pleasant to know the venue has taken on new life. The ladies working there were incredibly friendly and attentive, so I wish I could continue with a better review, but I can't. We started with appetizers: Cumin lamb and Garlic pork. These were pretty much just the same sliced meats that go into the hot pots--they just seem to precook it for you (parboil) and add some sauce on top. I'm not sure if the dish is meant to be served cold, but ours was. I didn't like that it was cold, so after tasting it, I just waited to toss it into my hotpot. I wish there were other appetizer options (other than stinky tofu--which I don't like). On to the hot pots. My wife got the Korean soybean stew pot and I got the Beef hotpot. We were both underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't that good. Again, let me say that the wait staff was incredibly nice. Probably the friendliest I've had at a hotpot, but it didn't make up for the food. Also, again... the food wasn't bad--it just was totally forgettable and very limited in the options. Weekend Review If you're part of the first round, expect your food to arrive 30-40 mins after you order. Less food than before, they're taken away a few ingredients. You won't notice it unless you eat here often. I usually dine at the Rowland location every other weekend. Lack of workers, the servers are nice and friendly...but they claim there is nothing they can do about it because this location is extremely under staffed. I've seen customers getting a very upset face when they realized their food was taking 40+ mins to arrive. The older Asian aunties were complaining about it alot. Dessert was not avaliable when it was time for my bill, server claimed that she didn't make it yet. This was an hour after opening. Parking is very compact/packed. You will run the risk of getting hit/door dings if you park in the compact spaces. There were alot of struggling drivers in here trying to park. Bathrooms were extremely dirty, pee stains and smells like urine. Please fix this location, your service and efficiency needs to improve.
