I was craving for Boiling Point hot pot on my birthday yesterday. Hubby and I went to the one in Walnut around 11:30 a.m. They offer a birthday promotion featuring a free small hot soup and a tea for dine-in on the actual day of your birthday in the States. We both ordered #10 Rose Milky Hot Soup. I ordered one without spicy, and hubby ordered one with a mild spicy level. I showed them my driver's license to confirm it was the actual day of my birthday. They said that I could get a free upgrade for my free drink, and I could choose whatever I wanted on the menu. I picked the pudding sweet milk with boba with 50% sweet. Hubby also got a complimentary iced green tea that came with the pot. The Rose Milky Hot Soup had a lot of ingredients inside, and it was in huge portions. It had cabbage, udon, sliced pork, fish fillet, corn, seafood mushroom, firm tofu, broccoli, Chinese string bean, tempura, imitation crab meat stick, shrimp, milk, and Dried Rose. However, I would rather choose Milk Cream Curry instead next time because the Rose Milky Hot Soup tasted bland. It also lacked soup inside the pot, so I asked our server to add hot soup for me. The sliced pork was very chewy this time. I still liked the fish fillet, seafood mushroom, and shrimp. Anyhow, the service was great, and we like Boiling Point. They were so generous to give this birthday promotion. I will try their Korean Bean Paste Hot Soup or Beef Hot Soup next time because I always order the Milk Cream Curry. =)

Amazing service and food! This is probably one of our new favorite locations due to the friendly staff and tasty pots. The menu is consistent with their other locations and remains the same as it's always been. I highly recommend their Thai Tomato pot with vermicelli, and coming before 3pm because you get a complimentary tea: either green tea or wintermelon tea. * Thai Tomato: 10/10 - great flavor and has both meat and seafood * Beef: 9/10 - variety of veggies and beef * Green Tea: 10/10 - light and not too sweet * Wintermelon Tea - 8/10 - good but a bit too sweet for our liking The interior is very spacious, and they offer a decent amount of seating. Compared to other places, the lighting is also a lot brighter, and the workers are super sweet. It's located in the corner of the plaza with a decent-sized parking lot, but it can get crowded at peak times. Keep in mind that they're only taking cash at the moment! Their machines are down, but you can call beforehand and ask if they're taking cards yet. Can't wait to come back!

Beef hotpot and two Jasmine Honey Milk tea

Three of us came here at 8:20 PM as we were just finished from our shift and craving some good hotpot. This location doesn't disappoint. We ordered two beef hotpot one medium and mild, and you gotta upgrade your rice to the scallion gravy rice!! Definitely will enhances your overall experience at boiling point. Portion wise it's very abundant which making me bring some to go for my next meal. Huge thank you to Vivie for the great hospitality on this Boiling point Branch.

Came here with no real expectations -- just a craving and a friend who kept saying "trust me." I have never trusted anyone more completely since. From the second the broth arrived, bubbling and brick-red and absolutely furious, I knew this was going to be one of those meals I'd still be talking about six months later. The mala base is the real deal -- layered and complex in a way that makes you realize most places have been serving you a pale imitation. There's heat, yes, but there's also something deeper underneath it. Floral, a little smoky, with that signature Sichuan peppercorn tingle that makes your lips feel like they've been gently electrocuted. In a good way. We went overboard on the order, which I maintain is the only acceptable strategy. The beef was so thinly sliced it cooked in seconds and came out impossibly tender. The fish balls had that perfect springy bite. The tofu skin puffed up in the broth like it had been waiting its whole life for this moment. And the dipping sauce bar -- sesame paste, raw garlic, chili oil, fresh scallion -- I made four different versions and regret nothing. The staff kept everything moving without us ever having to ask. The place was packed and loud and full of steam, and it felt exactly right. Vivie was amazing. Definitely coming back for hot pot again!

Since the San gabriel location closed we tried this location . Modern interiors and friendly service. Seating is a bit limited so expect a wait. Good economical hot pot.

I've probably been to the new location at least five times since they opened. It is a nice little spot that easy to get to with tons of parking. I have mixed feelings on this location compared to other locations, including the RH location that closed and was replaced with this one. 1) the kitchen is slow, not just a little slow, but very slow. In other locations, after ordering, soups are usually brought out within 10 minutes. Even when they are not very busy I seem to be waiting 20-30 minutes for our soups. 2) the servers are inattentive unless you flag them down. Out of the five visits, only my last visit had a server preemptively come by and offer to refill my soup, not just once but twice! Other times I have to stop one passing by as my food is about to burn from lack of liquids. 3) the servers are nice when you are able to get their attention Overall it is a decent spot and I will likely be back (as I do love my BP), but will have to be ready to wait for my food.

Finally we get to eat at boiling point since it is no longer at grand opening, plus the parking and wait is reasonable. Boiling point is Taiwanese & Chinese fusion hot pot that has been around SoCal for many years. The decor is modern, clean, and simple. The restaurant is at corner of small plaza with fairly limited parking. Service is better than average. We order house #1 and seafood #2 with medium spiciness. # 1 is stinky tofu, but the smell is tone down and tofu is still sticky. It doesn't smell like one. It does. It's pretty salty and spicy. I still like it. #2 seafood is fish, with other ingredients you typically see in hot pot. Taste is good. Overall, they have app to order to go and you can probably get points. Also, they offer free hotpot and drink if it's your birthday on same day as your valid ID. One small complaint is that I feel the small table of two is so light and can be move too easily, kind of uneasy for me because I have to watch myself.

New location since Rowland Heights store closed. Food prepared as pictured and came hot. Ordered classic beef pot. This visit made me like Boiling Point more. I normally don't care for it. The space is oddly shaded but it is clean and well maintained. The decor in the ceiling is cute. Fully staffed and team is very helpful and attentive for most part until the end when needing to close the check. Sad to see not great reviews here. I had a good experience so want to share and even out the rating! Would come back!

9/20/25 Saturday Came in the afternoon around 1:30 PM and was able to get free sweetened green tea and melon tea. Somehow the boiling point in Alhambra drinks are a lot sweeter than this branch. We ordered the beef and the mutton. The mutton is a newer item and only offered in the large size. As usual, both dishes were generous in meat. I especially liked the mutton since I love herbal soups. The meat is chunky instead of thin sliced. Service was quick, but the server mixed up our spice selections and I got a spicy beef instead of no spice. Mild is pretty spicy. Also, they forgot to come back to us about a soup refill. Ambiance is modern and clean. Love the little robot server. We didn't get a chance to be served by it, but it was cool to see.

Sometimes the rating on yelp can be wrong. Boiling point in Walnut is on par with some of the other locations I've been too. you really do get a lot of food for one pot, and the drinks are pretty good for a hot pot spot. The service is pretty quick and tentative! I just wished they opened a location with more tables lol. The design of the location is pretty nice with the neon sign on top. The parking can be a little tricky and tight.

Updating my review. Came in to redeem my voucher for a free hot soup and a free drink before the end of this month. I hate writing bad reviews but this is my second time coming to this location and really noticed that the service is lacking and really needs improvement. When you walk in, you would be greeted by a series of monotone voices. Nothing energetic like the other boiling point locations. Staff also walks by and does not really check up on you. The staff here do not ask if you need help with anything. Is everything okay? And does not refill soup until you ask for it. A lot of the time you have to take the initiative and ask for something in order to receive service. There is not much initiation on their end to check up on the customers. Disappointing. This place is kinda out of my way anyways so won't be frequenting again. Will go to the other bp locations closer to home.

Service was bare minimum. Food was terrible. Parking was difficult, but the interior was good. To give more insight, I got a mild beef and the soup lacked so much flavor. It essentially tasted like water mixed with light dashida. They relied heavily on their spicy oil for flavor which only masks the deficiency in the soup broth. Tofu and cabbage had zero flavor as well. Coming from the Rowland Heights location, I am so sad they closed and am upset at the lack of effort from this location. If you are familiar with Boiling Point, this location is NOT the same. (p.s. the picture depicts the attempt to remake the MILD beef, but where did the beef go? lol didnt even try it)

We were BP fans back in the early days - one of the OG customers back when they first open in Hacienda Heights 2004. At some point they changed their supplier and that's when we went there less and less. It's been years since we had them, but we gave it a try with their new opening in Walnut. We came right after a workout on a gloomy and chilly night - perfect weather for soupy comfort food. I ordered the House Special Hot Soup (招牌臭臭鍋). The quantity is definitely a plus - plenty of meat and veggies, generous portions overall. Unfortunately the tofu was a huge letdown. Its mushy bland texture really dragged this dish - tofu is an important component here. The broth was on the stronger, more flavorful side - could be a plus for some, but for me it felt a little overpowering. The main sauce (豆瓣醬) wasn't the best we tasted, but depends on your preference. One word of caution: the soup is heavy on MSG, so you might feel groggy or thirsty after. I definitely did. -1 star for bland mushy tofu lacking texture. -1 star for average sauce and strong MSG. There are definitely better hotpot options out there, but this is basically a "brand" and it's working out very well. I'd only come back if friends specifically want to.

Overall, the food was filling, seasoned well, and well portioned without being overly expensive. The only downside was that our waters were never refilled during the meal, although it honestly looked like there was only one server working at the time. I tried their Spam Kimchi Pancake, Pomegranate Soju cocktail, and chicken wings, in a mild buffalo sauce. I liked the pancake, and it was just the right amount of sourness from the kimchi. It tasted great with the dipping sauce. The chicken wings were dry and small. The promo for it looked better than in person, so if we were to re-order I'd choose a Korean fried chicken. I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5

The parking lot had an interesting shape but it wasn't hard for us to find parking. We were seated quickly and we ordered a variety of foods. I had the Crispy Pares, my partner got the the Beef Pares and my in-laws split the Lechon and Sisig. We also tried their Calamansi and Mango juices and a Halo Halo for dessert. Overall, it wasn't bad but nothing here really stood out to me. If I'm honest, the home cooking of my in-laws (who are Filipino from the Philippines) tastes better. For me, the beef broth was super oily and the garlic rice smelled like garlic but didn't taste like anything. The crispy pork was both super crunchy (which I like) but also tough (the meat that is). I don't try the Sisig but I could hear my MIL muttering in Tagalog and I'm pretty sure thy were not kind words about the Sisig's flavor. Maybe the best items would have been in the overload upgrade but none of us were starving that we felt the need to try it out. Maybe next time? The juices were good though but the Halo Halo was a bit sad. It was like 92% ice cream, 4% rice crispy and corn flakes on top, 3% shaved ice, and 1% "other." I don't recall seeing any jellies, beans or fruit (though my partner said he saw ONE jelly. Last, I recognize this is a small family business and I support small businesses but as we say there eating, a few other tables exited and none of their tables were ever cleaned. It didn't really affect us but I was surprised that the staff was just chatting and on their phones for about 20 minutes and not bussing or clearing tables. It was slow at the time (as we were the last diners) but it was also kind of gross and as we were on our way out, I saw another group enter.
