#8 Taiwanese Spicy Hot Soup

New Boiling Point location! As a fan of BP already, this newer spot hits. Everything is nice and new inside. On a Thursday night, seating was half-empty. Staff was friendly and fast, which is above the average for BP. The food came out as expected, quality and tasty. Big pro is this BP is attached to Jin for drinks, just like the Pasadena location. Validation only for 1 hour of parking, must spend $40 per Gardenwalk.

First came Din Tai Fung at Downtown Disney. Then came Boiling Point at Anaheim Garden Walk. It's a good time to be a Disney fan who also loves Asian food. This newest BP location is on the top floor at the far end near FiRE+iCE. The interior emanates city vibes, with high ceilings backlit by a marquee of BP location names. B&W murals of the stores' opening timeline line the hallway to the bathroom. If you don't need to go, just pretend. You don't want to miss out. For taste, this was one of the better locations. The one-pot hotpot was loaded with proteins and veggies, and the soup was rich. No skimping. For service, this was not one of the better locations. Our server in black ("trainee" tag) was nice, but the one in the red shirt slammed the check on the table without even saying thanks. Then there's parking. When I went on 8/27, they did not validate, said they're hoping to reach a deal with the mall. The 1st hour in the garage is free, then it's $4 for each hour (not prorated). This location was bright and shiny and exhilarating to see, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Parking is tough and patrons are treated as dime-a-dozen. I love what they did with the place though. The lighting and art captures well the nighttime vibes of burgeoning Anaheim. Getting to the bathroom was like a mini art walk. Chug some water before you walk in.

Boiling Point was a good comfort meal overall! The hot pot comes out bubbling hot and packed with a little bit of everything -- thinly sliced meat, veggies, tofu, fish cake, mushrooms, noodles, and more. The broth was really flavorful and everything soaked it up nicely. The meat was tender, the portions were filling, and I liked that the pot stayed hot throughout the meal. The spicy broth had a good kick without completely overpowering everything. The food itself was definitely the highlight. It's one of those meals that's perfect when you're craving something warm, savory, and comforting. Service was just meh though. We asked for water and it took a while for someone to come back. We also weren't given side bowls, so we had to ask for them since it's kind of awkward trying to eat rice or noodles straight from the hot pot. Nothing terrible, but there were a few small things that made the service feel less attentive than it could've been. I'd still come back for the food because the hot pot was really satisfying, but the service could definitely be a little more on top of things.

As someone from Taiwan, Boiling Point's hot pot reminds me of home. Excellent broth, great condiments and spicy tofu was excellent. This is a great place if you want hot pot but don't want to cook for yourself! Will definitely come again when the weather gets colder. Perfect winter comfort food!

This spot was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding! Our party was running late,…read morebut the servers were incredibly accommodating, helpful, and patient. They made great recommendations, were so friendly, and took the time to explain the ordering process, which we really appreciated. The location is great, and I also recommend using the valet parking, which is $9 and conveniently located on the lower level. Overall, such a wonderful experience! Great food, amazing service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and come back!

What started off as a great introduction went completely downhill…read more We were served by a female with facial piercings and tattoos (not that it matters however important to identify her). My friend and I ordered the 12 piece total 2-item combination. We both ordered 6 pcs of shrimp and 6 pcs of rib eye for the upgraded price. Our plate of protein only came out with 4 pcs of shrimp so we questioned the server why this was so. She tells us its actually weighed out to 4 ounces and not "pieces" which the menu clearly states. We asked her if this was a new rule because we had dined here literally the week prior. She proceeds to tell us "idk who served you but it's always been like this. I always tell our customers its weighed by ounces" (she did not inform us prior to ordering). We sat for a bit but felt we were being kind of cheated because of the discrepancy from last week's experience. We called her over again and literally told the server we were not trying to pick a fight and we just wanted to clarify due to the discrepancy from last week's meals. She stated "you probably got less rib eye and more shrimp, hence 6 pieces of shrimp." However this was not the case, because we know how to count and its 6 pieces of each item in the 12 PIECE COMBO. So, eventually we asked to speak to a manager. She left to get Kozen (?) her manager and when she came back with a male server(?) she told us "the managers too busy - but he'll allow it this one time but like I said its always been by ounces". From there on out, she proceeds to ignore us, starts coughing (pretty obnoxiously and grossly, might I add) and speaking loudly to those around us, cursing and being overall unprofessional. If you're going to say your food is served in ounces and not by pieces as your menu states, you best be telling ALL YOUR GUESTS before they order regardless if they're returning or new. We had lost our appetite, could not even finish our food and were just trying to rush out because the whole situation made us feel so uncomfortable. She made sure that we were ignored and put to the side and the male server who came down with her tried to mitigate by checking in on us, however we had already been put off by female server and her unprofessionalism. Due to this lack of professionalism and overall extremely uncomfortable and disappointing experience, we left 0% tip (which btw, is extremely rare for us). Overall, the food itself is still delicious as always, but we'll likely only patron when Roger and Cesar are working (because they at least, know how to count).

First time I came we both got Spicy Miso but it wasn't very memorable. Also, first time we came it was packed as sardines inside it was almost like a rave. No literally, DJ and everything haha. It was at night and very dark inside, dimly lit. Also hungover first time here, and the loud music wasn't helping. You kinda want it to be chill when you're hungover you know? Everyone else was vibing though! It looked lit. Everybody was drinking. Second time we came, it was chill and in the daytime. No crowd. Service was pleasant and quick because it wasn't busy. Most of my positive rating goes towards the staff that was doing the best they could. If you are on a time crunch, make sure to ask how long the wait is. The staff gave me the impression we could be seated right away but I had to still wait over 20mins given other reservations ahead of us. Easily a one hour plus wait on a busy day as there isn't a ton of seating. Where I took off majority of my rating was the ratio of price to meat. After tip and tax, we neared the $100 range for 2 people, and this was without any additional sides. We had the prime ribeye, pork, and salmon, all at 5oz and roughly in the 10 slices range per plate. Comes with standard veggies and a few bites of udon/vermicelli. The quality was fine, but I just feel like I could get more at this price range at other places for just about the same quality range. Not to mention the experience itself is quite bland and standard, without much ambiance. I don't think I would personally be back.

That makes it 'The' place to go, even if it's a little further out. I believe ZZ has the potential to be that place. When we stopped by it was empty. The menu was QR code only, I know this is a downside for some, not so much for me, but worth mentioning. There are 2 restrooms, single user, roomy and very ADA-accessible, the illuminated mirror is a very nice touch. And the food? First point is the price. You cannot beat this price, I believe. For two of us, our total was around $40-something. The food itself? Delightful. Attentive staff. The sauces available on the table were good. I did opt for mild heat level, since I like enjoying my food and not panting like I'm in Hell in this heatwave, and the broth was very good. A nitpick I often have with hot pot is that there is far too much cabbage, but in this case I felt like it was pretty balanced. All in all, I am excited to come by and give it another try. I have very high hopes for this spot.

I'm Asian so I know how to handle spice, but even a level 2 on their spice level will be a bit painful. The interior looks newly designed, and the inside is very clean. The standout dish for me was the fried rice. For a hot pot place, they really know how to cook up a delicious fried rice. The meat was unremarkable, but with how thin they slice the meat at hot pot/shabu places, I've never been too impressed with any meats a hot pot place. The service is okay - you'll probably have an easier time communicating with the staff here if you speak Chinese, but even with limited English, there's not much to convey; and to be frank, with how spicy the food is, your typical Westerner might suffer here as I did (but in a good way). Parking is a bit tricky since the lot is small, but I always managed to find parking.
