Not a great experience unfortunately... I got the Thai coconut soup base which turned out to be very citrusy. I could hardly taste the coconut flavor. The citrus flavor itself wasn't bad, but it's just not what I would expect from a Thai coconut flavor. A huge downside was that my soup arrived fridge-cold. And my station took FOREVER to heat up my soup, hardly took it to a boil. When it eventually started boiling more, it was over ten minutes. Later, it was still barely boiling, just hot. I've never had this happen to me at a hotpot place before. $35 for the basic AYCE (all you can eat). Not a lot of meat options for that one( 4 choices). The first plate I got with the chuck rolls and pork tenderloin looked really fresh. However, my second plate with beef belly and chuck rolls was unsatisfactory. The beef belly had a lot of fat on them, and the chuck rolls this time were super thin slices and they even have brown spots in them. Not very red and fresh like the first plate I got... It also came with a bowl of white or brown rice and a plate of veggies with noodles and tofu that is refillable. Was surprised to see a hot pot place at the Anaheim packing house. Tiny space, seat felt a bit crammed though. The staff member was friendly. I would not go back, don't recommend.

How many of you have experienced #ShabuShabu, a subset of #HotPot? Along with #Bulgogi and #Pho, this is one of my favorite dishes while residing in SoCal. Check out all that meat!!!

TLDR: There is always something charming about dining at a bar table. There is also something charming about hotpot. This place provides both. The ala carte options are good, and the AYCE is a nice addition for parties with various appetites. The price is $5-10 more than the chain hotpot spots, but I'd pay the extra for supporting a local business. AYCE Premium: I chose the miso based soup just because it was familiar. You get rice, a plate of napa cabbage, noodles, mushroom, and broccoli to start and you have 7-8 choices of meat. The sesame sauce seems to be the restaurant's top choice, but I thought the meal would have been fine without it. The turnaround time of how often the staff would take your fresh set of orders is heavily dependent on how many people are eating at the bar, but they'll keep you in mind via mental queue if you let them know that you're ready to order again. Best cuts for me are the Ribeye and New York, which is important since those are the additional slices you get access to if you opt in for the premium. Beef belly was good, just to change things up a few rounds in. Service: It was alright. It's not the best, but it's far from being the worst. They found this fine balance of being able to take in a Friday rush with as little staff needed while providing what folks need without waiting too long. Ambiance: Anaheim packing house is already a good place to be. Pair that with a hotpot place that serves good food and it's a pairing that is hard to beat. The Friday night DJ also played a set that I enjoyed, which helped with the vibe. The conversation with my group was a touch challenging given that we were sitting side by side, but I don't mind.

You have to remember to rub the cat for good luck! Haha I took a selfie as proof that I rubbed the cat for good fortune. Hopefully it works for 2025! Lol The food is good. It's your typical hot pot place. You pick everything that you want in your hot pot, and it cooks right in front of you. It's really good and filling! Service was fine, no complaints there. It was very clean too. And luckily, no wait time or anything when I arrived. I was seated right away. I enjoyed a good meal.

Hot Pot at Rolling Boil is good and piping hot! It's a different vibe and not the usual hot pot experience in a Chengdu or Szechuan style restaurant. The veggies were fresh. However the chicken and salmon were teeny tiny. Being in a place in buzzing Anaheim Packing District Food Hall, Rolling Boil is a good alternative to beat the crowd.

Ayce was GREAT! Server Donna was super helpful and explained everything clearly. Ate as much as I could in a beautiful little restaurant!

The ambiance was great, the food was delicious, and our server Donna was the absolute best! Our first time here, and my partner and I loved it.

Food is fine. Not bad at all but average. Service was great and very attentive service. It's downstairs in the Anaheim Packing District surrounded by other eateries. If you are in the area and want hot pot this is decent.

This place is amazing! Quick service, and the bartender even shared his 'secret sauce' with us, it was delicious! The food here is so tasty, and definitely worth the price. Highly recommend!

I'd never had Hot Pot before and if i had to start somewhere i was glad it was here! Located downstairs in The Anaheim Packing District this small restaurant locations offer excellent music, friendly staff, and good vibes! We sat at the bar top and the staff helped with all our questions (how and when to cook, what to do, best options etc)! The broth was incredibly flavorful - trust that the spicy broth is very spicy when they tell you. I was super glad for the veggie assortment which i wasnt expecting as well as the tofu and noodles/rice! The menu is easy to read, and mixing sauces or broths is pretty tasty as well. I'll for sure be back!

I had an amazing time and the food was so good. The service was so fast and nice. Everything was clean. Also they were very informative on what to suggest for me. I always appreciate that 10 out of 10.

Whenever I'm in Garden Grove, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine will always take precedence. However,…read moremy most recent trip pivoted from the norm, and Noodle Star became the destination. The end result? Reasonable prices, warm service, and very tasty food. Like so many Chinese restaurants, the name and theme is inherently confusing. Up until last year, the place was Harbor Garden and it's rebranded to Noodle Star ever since. The Chinese name ("川粵" aka "Chuan Yue") would imply there is a Sichuan + Cantonese component to the offerings, despite the words "teppanyaki" and handmade noodles (手工麵) noted on the exterior as well as on signs on the interior. Typically any restaurant that dabbles in multiple regional Chinese variations (Sichuan, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Lanzhou, etc.) is a huge flight risk. Surprisingly, it all worked out. All of my orders were from different regions of the country, starting with a Cantonese beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) that was delightfully smokey from the wok hei (#1) and the noodles and beef were silky and smooth. While the noodles aren't as wide as I would have liked, they were still 100% workable in the dish. The Taiwanese style popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was wonderfully fried and the chicken was still juicy on the inside. Their napa cabbage + shrimp + pork steamed dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) were pillowy soft and steamed perfectly. They were plump and not too doughy; which is very appropo for a northern Chinese dish. The biggest surprise may have come from the soup dumplings (小籠包), which had just the right amount of soup and a very delicate dumpling skin that was downright excellent. The service was kind, attentive, and very bilingual with Mandarin and English. Prices might feel high to non-Cali folks, but the spectrum is very much on the Socal average. (#2). Bathrooms were mostly clean and the seating options were plentiful; solid for large and small group action. Parking can be tough on the weekends since it's a strip mall. I already know that I'll be back. If I was able to order 4 regions and they all came out excellent (#3), I can only imagine how excellent the rest of the house special group of dishes will be. __________ (#1) "Essence of the wok" -- it's a thing. The Peking duck was exceptional: crispy skin, juicy meat, and incredibly fresh wraps and condiments.
