My youngest played rec baseball here for Mill Creek Athletic Association. It's a good program and competitive for a rec league. The fields are nice and they recently renovated the batting cages. Now the bathrooms could use some work. It feels like they are almost always very dirty, out of soap or toilet paper, and just feel incredibly aged. This is the one thing that keeps this park from being 5 stars. The inside pool at the aquatic center could use some updates too, but it's still fun. read more

Bogan Park seems to be most known for its aquatic center but I would be remiss not to mention its wonderful trail. This park has a little over 2.0 miles of paved and non-paved trails. You will see signs marking the beginning of each of the 3 interconnected paths. Path 3 takes you along the non-paved trail. Watch out for path 2, there are two signs that say path 2. The one that veers off will lead you to a dead end along the main road. Overall it is a nice park to take a stroll or jog. A little bit of leg work required for the small hills. The park also has two playgrounds, sport fields, and restrooms. No separate dog park area. read more

The place is almost the same as I remember growing up. They opened later than what the website said. It was clean and lifeguards were present and alert. They are really good at making sure there is appropriate supervision for children. My only complaint is that there were several larger kids wresting and horse playing in the river when parents bring smaller children there too. This wouldn't bother my had there not been so many younger children, not just mine but several other families. read more

Amazing park. includes about 6 volleyball courts in sand , 2 baseball feilds, huge parking spots, a public bathroom , trails , and like an aquatic area that I didn't check out. There are usually lots of people on Sunday afternoons. The lights go out at 11pm. I come here with my youth group usually every week and it's the best . read more

My family and I have been coming here for years- mostly sporting events for our kids and also for swimming, parties and running. This is a great part in N Gwinnett and has a wonderful indoor pool that has an Olympic pool, and a great slide, play area on the other side of the building. Parties can be planned I believe here as well. Great walking trail around the property which surrounds multiple baseball and softball fields, batting cages, concession stand. Sand volleyball court, basketball courts, a true sports park. Karate is now being set up as is lacrosse fields. With my last child now expanding his sports, and I too looking to join a martial arts program ( Dojo, Karate, other)- will be check out Bogan. Easy access of 985 and downtown buford or automotive lane on 20 near the mall, Bogan is well known and well established. read more

REVIEW IS FOR THE AQUATIC CENTER For restless winter weekends, I've been looking for some fun for the 4 year old. Gwinnett has an unusual amount of great indoor water parks and compared to Bethesda, I'd say this caters more to older kids. I find little actual information in these reviews, so I'll break it down into pros (+) and cons (-). (+) Cheap. 4 year old and dad: $18 total. (+) Big waterslide with low height limit. I'd guess about 45", but Bethesda is 48". Lots of 4 year olds enjoying it. (+\-) Bigger kids. If you have small kids, know that there are 8 year olds and some pre-teens wrestling around. If you have 12 year olds, this place has stuff for them. (+) Features an in-water playground with a slide into the water, but not a waterslide (Bethesda has a small kids waterslide). That playground has water controls with manual wheels, spouts of water, fountains. (+) Hot AF! They probably keep the thermostat at 90° inside. (+) Lap pool deep enough for diving! The Olympic sized pool is diving depth for more than half the length. 4' to 9' in the middle to 12' at the boards. (+) Diving boards about 3' off the water. Expect a line of children. (-) Pretty strict rules -- no goggles on the diving board, kids under 6 need a parent next to them, no masks at all, limits on floatation, no sitting on the side of the pool in the play area, etc, etc, etc. (-) No food at all. It used to food for sale, then only vending, now nothing. You can bring your own, though! (-) 15 minute lifeguard break seemed to be every hour. That's a loooong time with a 4 year old. (+) Diving is allowed off the side of the pool at the depth of 9'...no need to wait in line for the board. (-) Loud in the play area. Echoey and the sound of rushing water means yelling to communicate. Getting through to a child -- ehhh good luck. It's louder than any place I've been to. (-) Locker room is not private. The bathroom, showers, and all-dudes-naked locker room are barely different rooms. Triple-wide door to the locker area means you're gazing upon dudes changing when you walk in the room. If this bothers you as someone who wants to change in there or wants to bring a kid to the rest room, it's a negative. Otherwise, whatever, it's a locker room. (-) Missing dumping buckets, water guns, rain shower. (+) Has lazy river (BROKEN currently...), whirlpool, disabled access (chair crane, gradual ramp). (-) Very small and very wet. Even when there aren't large crowds there might be 4-5 picnic tables in the corner. Pool goes within 4' of the walls and its wet to the walls. There are bleachers in the lap pool area that aren't used, but when I arrived at noon, every seat in the picnic area was "claimed" with towels and bags. (-) If you're an adult swimming laps, there are only 3 lanes and the place is teeming with children. Overall, 4 year old gives this 5 stars, which means dad gives it 5 stars. read more

I honesty can't believe how I was just treated at the concessions. I take my son here for baseball 3 times a week and the current concessions lady is never very nice. Not sure if she volunteers or if she's forced through slavery, but she clearly HATES working the concession stand. Today we brought KFC to avoid hotdogs for the 5th time but they didn't provide napkins. Our son went to get napkins from the concession stand but was told they don't give out napkins without a purchase...So I went up to the window and asked for napkins(as you know, KFC is very greasy!) The young girl at the window informed me that they can't give napkins without a purchase. Irritated I replied in my calmest voice "Okay, well can I have some napkins to wipe my hands, THEN I can buy something?" Well, the fun ball of joy came over with a VERY aggressive tone "What do you want??" "Some napkins to wipe my hands, THEN I can buy something" "No, we don't do that!" "Give napkins?" "No, not for people wiping their hands! Go to the bathroom for that! There's a dryer!" "......okay then!" I could feel my blood boiling, so I stepped away before I said anything that may cross the line. But holy cow! Apparently someone needs to contribute more napkins for the concession stand! They take them VERY seriously! read more

My rating is strictly based on the POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - The front desk staff that were there between 12-2pm on July 10, 2019 at the AQUATIC CENTER The facility overall is nice. The lazy river is a nice feature and very relaxing. So here we go with the not so nice. A pleasant customer service demeanor is sorely lacking by those at the front desk .The lifeguards could use a dose of friendliness as well. My daughter, grandson and I went to this facilty for my grandson's 4th birthday. After our brief but confrontational interaction with "Annaeve" our upbeat mood quickly changed. In a nutshell, her overall demeanor was unwelcoming, confrontational and her tone was laced with sarcasm when speaking to me. Unbeknownst to me while I was in the dressing room, my 21yr old daughter went back to the desk to ask for a manager to discuss how she spoke to me. Annaeve immediately interrupted the conversation between my daughter and the other person at the desk (who we now know as the manager) and became defensive/confrontational. During this interaction the manager did not exercise her role as a "manager" and stop Annaeve from interrupting which was disappointing and shows a lack of managerial experience/expertise on her part. Annaeve appeared just simply didnt care about providing us with a pleasant customer experience. This was also evident by her need to discuss our interaction at the front desk after we walked away and then glare at me while in the pool. Such a lack of professionalism from someone well over 40. My expectation as a customer is simply the basics of customer service: 1) Greet and welcome customers - a smile would be nice; 2) Provide clear information about your facility and its policies 3) Consistently maintain a pleasant, courteous tone when speaking with customers. The old saying of "Fake it til you Make it" applies here. The way we were treated by "Annaeve" was unacceptable. It was evident that interacting with families is not her cup of tea so this role may not be a good fit for her. This was escalated to a higher up (above the mgr.) via an email. I have yet to receive a response. Hopefully, customer service training will be provided to her and the rest of the staff at the front desk. This is not rocket science. Will we come back again? Not sure? Disappointing experience :( read more

I really enjoy my trips to Bogan park. I went this morning to walk my Husky/Shepard mix Mishka we took a mile or so walk on the trail passing ducks at the pond and catching a glimpse of a little league game on one of the multiple sports fields. Most of the time this park is busy with dog walkers, joggers, and kids doing sports so it's pretty safe. Also, there are only a few spots on the trail where you cannot see the main fields and the playground. There is plenty of parking in a variety of areas so you can start the trail anywhere. It's a very nice park and one of my favorites because it's close to my house. Now if only I could work up the energy and go more often!! read more

Beautiful park. Just moved to the area and this is very Close to where I Live. The trails are very wide and it's nice because it kind of goes into a wooded area and then out again. There seems to be a couple of non paved trails we didn't try those yet. I saw a couple of playgrounds one was really large which is really good for places that can have lots of kids. We took our 2 dogs and there was other people with dogs and it was Great. We could see the pool playground from the back side of the trail and it works like a lot of fun however we didn't go inside. Along the trail there's a lot of places to sit and trash cans for dog waste or other things. We saw a volleyball basketball courts and baseball fields all which look like they were kept in very good condition. And the bathrooms were clean. Over I will be going back to this part multiple times a week. read more

I really love the aquatic center! The kid play area os a lot of fun, I went with 5 kids the age range was 2 to 9 and all of the kids had fun! The kids talked me into going on the water slide ams I can't lie, I had a blast! I also go here to do my swim workouts during the day. The staff has always been really nice and the location is clean. I would definitely recommend stopping by! Bonus point! It's YEAR ROUND so a great opportunity to break up the winter monotony! read more

Rented a room for my niece's birthday party back in April. I arrived at 12:30 for a 1:00 reservation. When I approached the front desk to inquire about being let in 15 minutes earlier (as a courtesy you can be allowed in 15 minutes prior to your reservation for set-up. It's irrelevant if the room is empty.) Brenda, with a foul face, stated I could not and would have to wait outside with all of my supplies. When I asked why, she said, "It's rules." with an attitude. I left, grabbed the signed permit, and gave it to her with the same attitude that she gave to me. After standing outside for another 10 minutes, another worker let us in at 12:40 as she apparently had some sort of common sense and customer service ability. My party started clean up at 2:40, our reservation ended at 3. I assumed since there was a 15 minute courtesy, it would be extended for cleanup as well, especially since there was no reservation after. At 3:05, Brenda marched into the room with the same attitude as she had 2 hours prior, stated that since we were not out exactly at 3, they were keeping our $100 deposit. I, along with my sister, marched out after her and we proceeded to get into a verbal sparring match. When I asked for a supervisor's info, she stated she didn't have one. The argument only subsided when another worker came out to diffuse the situation. She was very helpful, offered to get us a cart to help us take out gifts and admitted that a 15 minute warning should have been given as COMMON COURTESY. She provided me with the supervisor's info and told me to call the next day to speak to the supervisor. That was not the end of it. After we left that room, we went over to the pool. We had about 15 kids and 8 adults. We were told that 3 adults needed swimsuits (which makes no sense to me. I wasn't aware that if a person's child was drowning, them not being in a swimsuit would prevent them from entering the pool). This is because according to their complicated system, one adult in a swimsuit per 8 kids over 8 or something like that. One in our party already had a swimsuit and entered with her two children. The rest of us waited outside for 50 minutes while one person went to Walmart to buy a swimsuit. When they came back, we told the woman at the desk we now had enough and that one woman was already inside. She stated that woman would not count towards our group as she was only responsible for her 2 kids and we needed another adult with a swimsuit. What? I told her we were all in a group and most people don't have eight children that they are the parent of so what was she talking about. We were finally let in after an hour when another associate who again, seemed to be the only one with common sense and customer service skills said it was fine and let us in. When I spoke to the supervisor regarding the deposit the next day, she stated she was told we didn't leave the room until 3:30. I told her that was due to Brenda's rudeness and my attempt to figure out why she thought it was appropriate to tell me she was keeping our $100 deposit. If Brenda had not entered the room, we would have been finished by 3:10. At the end of it, we were told they were keeping $30 of the $100. I would have argued more as we deserved all of our deposit, but at that point I was tired of the horrible customer service. I would not rent a room from this park again nor bring a large party to the pool due to their convoluted and ridiculous rules as well as several staff members who don't seem to have common sense nor courtesy. They also do a 'safety check' of their pool every 45 minutes where everyone gets out and has to stand around for 15 minutes. Very inconvenient. The plus side is they do have a nice indoor pool with several slides. read more

First park I went to since moving to Buford. Staff rude, short, and non even present. I stood at front desk for three minutes and then started knocking on the window for them to help me and stop their side talk. Walking trail is about a mile paved circle with a small pond. The Bogan Park aquatic center had very many rules that were either silly or ridiculous for the size of the place. It's a lot smaller than we thought. The only floating things you can bring are baby rafts, and pool noodles. No tire floats allowed. The most impressive thing here was the large water slide, which was really fast and fun. Parents: if you have a child 6 and under, you have to keep them within arm's reach otherwise the life guards take your child until a parent claims them. I would not recommend this place if you had small children. read more

One star rating because the staff at this location are pretty rude and inconsiderate to be honest. To make a long story short. Due to covid you have to pay in advance (no problem) I booked the night before and it started thundering and lightening pretty badly on the day of. I called to see if we could be credited for a different day so I wouldn't have to be out and on the roads in the bad weather and my youngest is pretty afraid of thunder and lightening (I never even asked for a refund). I was pretty much brushed off and told that because they are indoors that it is pretty much my choice to not come so a credit cannot be given. I called Collins Hill location because we have had several positive experiences there with that staff and they agreed with me as well that a credit or refund should've been given and that they do not operate that way at that location. So apparently all of the locations are managed separately. It's honestly not even about the money, it's just about treating people like they are people and giving a little consideration. The tone of voice and non chalant attitude of take it or leave it was truly off putting. read more

Aquatic Park - only reviewing aquatic park for people interested in membership. If you are looking to swim for exercise or lap don't waste your money. Unless you are retired and can swim first thing in the mornings. Nights and weekends virtually all lanes are reserved for either swim lessons or swim teams. So it's very difficult to actually get a lap lane to swim in most of the time. read more

Awesome pool year round. We even did a pool party for my son using their community room and then you get a certain amount of tickets for everyone to get into the pool. They have a large slide, a lazy river , and a play set in a shallow end of the pool. If none of that is your speed they also have another more quieter side with a lap pool. read more

My family and I enjoy this park. The great part is that the pool is indoors. Great for semi-cold days. Supposedly it has been renovated recently but I have not seen it. If you have small children and don't want to travel far or spend too much- this is a great place to go. read more

Very disappointed! Tried to schedule a party for my daughter. I call one night, right before closing - the day, time & price - everything is right and available, next morning call back to actually book it, and nothing what they told is acurate (price doubled overnight literally). Wasn't a big fan of rental of their recreational center. We were using it regularly every month and lost are deposit of 300 dollars because our event went ten minutes later. Very poor management here watch out. They will take you if you just fall a little outside their parameters. I would say it was a loss for us but a bigger loss for them because we wold have continued using them for the rest of this year and they would have pulled in another 2k out of us. This is typical of state government run facilities. They hire incompetent people that hurt their financial success and hurt the reputation. The rest of the Bogan park is probably just fine though. So this is just rental of their conference rooms. read more
