I've been going to Town Center Park for a while but just never wrote a review for it. I thought I did but oh well, here goes. Town Center Park is a cute park in Suwanee. I've come here for many festivals in the past and just to meet up with friends for a walk. It's big, cool, and modern. Kids love it here for the water sprinklers. Every Saturday, there is an outdoor farmer's market. Recently, I came here to get some Filipino bakery goodies. I saw an ad on Facebook and decided to come. I had my mind only to get these ube baked breads. I saw many other vendors with yummy products, like peaches, honey, fresh fruits and veggies. I spent close to $100 already for the Filipino goodies (I bought everything but one item) that I have to come back. There is a lot of parking behind the retail and apartment buildings. When I exited, I left at the parking lot area (I came in a different way). I saw a "LOVE" sign, I wish it wasn't so out of place and closer to the Town Center Park area. It makes good photo opportunities. 39/2020

Went there for a jazz concert, easy parking in the shopping center across the town center. Kids had a lot a fun playing at the water foutaise, I personally love this park where you can play, picnic or just have a walk ! I just wish I live closer !!!

What a nice little park! I visited Town Center Park for their Suwanee Food Truck Friday events they hold during the first Friday of each month, beginning in April. The park itself is kind of small, is surrounded by bustling traffic, businesses and City Hall just across from it, which may make navigating it difficult when events such as food trucks stop on in. For the food truck portion of this review, I the following trucks were on hand: King of Pops Cousins Maine Lobster Bustin' Butt Hickory Smoke Bar-b-Que Yolis Street Food Grubbin' Out ATL Heavenly Dolce Viet-Nomie's Roly Poly Rolled Sandwiches In addition to the food trucks, live music was being played by North Gwinnett, Peachtree Ridge and Collins Hill High school bands. The lines to the food trucks were super long, with Bustin' Butt and Grubbin' Out being two of the longest lines (easily a 45 minute wait for both early on), but each line will have you waiting a good 20 minutes just to reach the truck (more time for food prep). This is likely due to the once a month food truck events. I was only able to make it to four of the trucks, so come in with a plan to catch the trucks you want to hit first). Combine the live music, foodies and people just soaking in the beautiful day, and you had a full house of folks. There's also a very lovely fountain area where the kids are encouraged to play, as water shoots up randomly from different spots, so bring the kids! There's no way around it...you will experience traffic trying to get to an event, regardless of which route you take unless you get in super early. In my case, I got about a mile away on Buford highway, and that mile took about 30 minutes to reach the park (I left at 6pm). Parking is hit or miss, and I actually encourage you (with big events) to NOT try to park at the actual town center park, because there's not much maneuver room if you're stuck in the parking lot with your idling vehicle. There are other lots a couple of blocks away, of which some are parking friendly, but please please pay attention to signs that list tow away zones or private parking only. It is a park at your own risk situation when you're not at the town center park lots. I like Town Center Park. It's not the largest, it's not the quietest, but it really is a fun place to enjoy events, or just enjoying the park on a random "regular" day. If you're in the area, I hope you stop in and check it out!

    Plenty of space.

But what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! What I thought would be a simple morning walk quickly became a full experience of art, community, and nature. The park is beautifully designed, offering something for every type of visitor. Wide walking and hiking paths weave through the grounds, inviting you to slow down and enjoy the scenery. Families can enjoy the spacious playground, athletes can hit the sand for a game of beach volleyball, and history buffs will appreciate the thoughtful and moving Army Memorial - Greater good by Michael Szabo. It's the kind of space that effortlessly blends recreation with reflection. While strolling, I had a great chat with one of the friendly groundskeepers who told me about the Saturday farmers market, as well as seasonal concerts and food trucks that make the park come alive with energy, music, and flavors. It's clearly more than just a park--it's a gathering place where the community comes together. As an art lover, the sculpture garden was the highlight of my visit. The pieces are striking, and I found myself particularly drawn to Esther and Miles, two incredible works by Olu Amoda of Smyrna, GA. The way he transforms recycled metal into such expressive, beautiful forms is nothing short of inspiring. Town Center Park is more than a patch of green space--it's an experience. Whether you're here to exercise, enjoy art, take the kids out to play, or immerse yourself in community events, you'll leave refreshed, inspired, and wondering why you didn't visit sooner.

In my opinion as someone who travels all around the southern United States to visit hiking trails &…read morewaterfalls, Ivy Creek Greenway is a lovely local opportunity to get out into nature without driving a great distance. FIRST, the trail is peaceful. On most of my visits there have been a minimal amount of walkers, riders, and/or hikers on the trail. It's a great place to walk by yourself, with a friend or even as a family. SECOND, the trail offers multiple experiences. The section that starts beneath the southbound exit on I-85 traveling west towards the Gwinnett Heritage Center is fully paved. But from the same point traveling east is a wooded hiking trail with dirt/gravel paths. Along this eastern section are also many spur trails leading into the large marsh area sandwiched between Mall of Georgia Blvd & I-85. THIRD, while it is very close to civilization it feels like its own world. I love that you can get away right in the heart of a populated area and feel very much like you've been on an adventure. [ THE EXPERIENCE ] There are several access points, but we chose to park at the Mill Creek Nature Center on the backside of the Mall between Bird Watcher Supply Company & Wendy's. There is only space for about 10 cars in the little gravel parking area, but don't worry. If it is full there is plenty of paved parking available just across the Boulevard. Once parked you walk out to the sidewalk parallel to the street for a short distance until you come upon a set of wooden stairs leading down to the trail. When you reach the main trail you can go left where the trail will lead you 1 mile to Gravel Springs Road or go right towards Hwy 20. We decided to go right, but along the way discovered a wooden foot bridge leading through the swamp. This is not actually on the official trail map and will add approx. 1.25 miles to your hike. *WARNING - it can be a bit confusing to follow because it breaks off into so many side trails, but if you are capable of remembering the way you came, it won't be a problem. The marsh trail contains MANY old wooden footbridges to keep your feet dry as well as a watch tower that overlooks a wide open area of the marsh. I would imagine this would be a fun area for young ones to pretend they were trespassing on SHREKS land. Along the way there are also several markers indicating different species of trees, plants & wildlife from opossums to birds. Great educational tool for both young and older children. Near the lookout tower is a loop trail we did not follow. Instead, we returned the same way we came to the main trail. *** NOTE: We ventured across a HUGE snapping turtle on the main trail. It looked like a boulder at first. While snapping turtles can't run fast, their bite is lightening quick and their neck are longer than you think. DO NOT try to handle them. Continuing West we soon passed below the exit loop of I-85. Just before this point you will encounter a spur trail leading to the parking lot behind Mattress Firm, which also serves as another trail access point. Next you will cross under Hwy 20 before coming to an old concrete bridge leading across Ivy Creek. To your right is yet another parking area and access point, but I would advise you to only use this one if you have a high clearance vehicle. Ruts in the gravel have made it rather rough for low clearance cars. It's also tricky to get here since you'd have to cross into the parking area about where the southbound ramp is merging with Hwy 20. Once across the concrete bridge the waterfall is only a little over 200 feet away. If the water flow is good, you should easily hear it! It's not a natural waterfall, but the remains of historic Woodward Grist Mill. The metal wheel is still on site. The banks of the creek are sandy, making it a great spot to hang out a while with the kids or a date! Continuing west you will pass The Preserve @ Mill Creek Apartments. Near their picnic deck is another sandy area for relaxing right where the creek cascades for about 100 feet. Beyond that is a wooden boardwalk leading to a split. Either go towards the Gwinnett Environmental Center (right) or continue on Ivy Creek Trail (left). We walked the trail left all the way to the suspension bridge and then returned the way we came. [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] Overall we clocked about 5.25 miles from the Mill Creek Nature Center parking area to the suspension bridge and back with a tour of the swamp trail to the lookout tower. It is a very easy trail, but does get a little hilly as you get closer to the suspension bridge. Overall it took us a leisurely 1.5 hours on a GORGEOUS 80 degree Sunday afternoon with perfect breezes. I know what some of the other reviews say, but I can't see how anyone wouldn't enjoy spending a little time on this trail. Afterwards we ate @ nearby Burger 21, home to one of my favorite burgers (The OMG) and one of the ONLY black bean burgers my particular wife enjoys. HAVE FUN! 2022 / 62

The McGinnis Reserve Lake and Walking trail is interesting. Part of the perks of being a member of…read morethe McGinnis Reserve subdivision, non-members do have access to the walking trail via the Suwanee Greenway, which rests right along this subdivision. The lake that the paved walking trail surrounds is 20 acres total, and the trail is generally kept up fairly well, minus the side stepping all of the geese poop. The lake itself, which you can't fish out of, is a pretty clear and vibrant lake. Wildlife i've seen have included the aformentioned geese, cranes, and i've seen a few turtles as well. There's no mileage on the actual trail, but I do believe it's less than a mile and is flat in all but a couple of spots with a high hill. There are two access points to the walking trail and lake, one being near the suwanee greenway trail opening (very close to the entrance tot he subdivision), and another via a set of stairs, which leads to the actual subdivision homes. There is no direct parking for walkway access, outside of street parking. I parked at the clubhouse at the rear and walked to the trail. It was about a 12 minute walk, so you'll get a work out in when you combine that with the trail walk itself. Do you HAVE to visit this trail? Well, if you're not pooped out from the grenway, it's a nice lake to take in. If you live here, you definitely should be here daily. But I wouldn't make a special trip to this trail alone. Another fun outdoor stop worth checking out. Give it a shot if you can!
