After the hurricanes this year I ended up needing a couple of trees trimmed. And there were two other trees needing to be removed entirely. The estimator and the work crew both impressed me with their professionalism, courtesy and skill. Boen's Tree Service came to stump grind some stumps in our yard. The supervisor said he couldn't grind the stump because it was too close to the chain link fence. Even after I offered to cut the fence away, he just walked off. If you're going to accept a job, you should check it beforehand. Don't wait till the day of service and then walk off. Either don't accept the job or bring a smaller stump grinder to do the job. read more

I read the reviews and was a little concerned about clean up. I read the one review where they were mad for not giving them a quote as well. Bottom line they just took out a tree for me, ground the stump and trimmed a tree. These guys are awesome. 5 stars without a question. Price was very reasonable for the work they did read more

Can't say enough positive things about this company. I needed an estimate with recommendations on a specific tree. They came out immediately and were extremely professional. Despite their busy schedule, they were able to squeeze us in before the recent storms. Their team came out and carefully took great care in my lanai, where the tree was positioned over, and removed it without any damage or disturbance to the vegetation surrounding the trunk. Will never use again!! Butchard mr Sable palm and killed it! Was a 36ft beautiful palm. after boens trimmed palm the head was bent with only a few palm on top One week after trim the fee remaining palms turned brown. 3 weeks later sablenoalm was dead! I'm furious as when I called Jeff Boen out to complain he said was a virus? hmmmm trimmed then one week later dead? Yeah Bouchard palm! i emailed then emailed back and Boens said prove it And who was arborist that claim tree dead by trimming. I have 4 that confirmed damaged tree and crown Awful trim job that damages and killed palm. I will be seeking legal for their unwillingness to at least take down palm they killed. I'm a retired pro athlete with 12 palms in Yard that's been there for 30 years. Beautiful untill Boens hackers touched it. Neve again. Worst ever! expensive and will not admit damage to palms when photo show hack job with cracked crown neck. Very disappointed! In the past few years I recommended that residents in the community I was President of, used Boens tree service to remove problem trees. I even recommended Boens to my neighbor in my new house last month. However when my neighbor used Boens last Monday to remove a tree which was several feet from my yard and over my caged in pool, they left my pool in shambles. The guy running the robotic saw from my neighbors roof Clearly saw that the entire tree's sawdust along with some sort of oil (oil or gas from the saw or tree oil from the sawdust) was being SHOT directly and forcefully at my pool, through the screen, and into the water. One section of screen which had been replaced a month ago was torn and will now cost me to have replaced. The sawdust and oil filled my pool and entire deck and furniture. I will have to pay now to have the deck cleaned. And I am awaiting pool service to see if sawdust and oil did damage to my pool filter and pump. I phoned Boens While the were working and the woman answering said "the company is Not going to cover a neighbors yard". But she would have the owner call me in the morning. 4 days later I called again and was told again the owner would call me back that day. I have still received NO reply. Apparently they left my neighbors yard (he hired them) a mess also. I will now have to pay at least 2 different people to fix what Boens did and "hope" my filter and water are ok. Then I will have to hire an attorney to recover this money. And sadly I was rhe person who recommended Boens. Never again. How rude not to even call back. I have pictures and videos of the sawing of the tree and the sawdust in my pool and deck. Also, the City of Dunedin will be making Boens re-pave the street in front of my new house as the street was just paved this summer and Boens equipment dug up chunks of tar, left scratches in the tar, and giant oil patches. They were interested in the health of my trees but they also properly assessed future problems that the trees might cause me. Recently had work done in Clearwater on a rather large tree. Did our due diligence and received quotes from about 5 tree companies in the area with Boen coming in the lowest. Boen showed up on time and had the tree down extremely quickly. Work was clean, employees were all very friendly and payment was easy. Would recommend and will use again. read more

I would not recommend Boen's Tree Service. Not because my company used them but because of the way Boen's does business over the phone and in person giving estimates. The company is NOT THOROUGH. That to me is an indication of how the actual service of tree cutting will be. From the start all the way to the finish this company was a challenge to deal with. We used this company for our seasonal tree trimming and tree removal of a giant oak tree. We get so many fly by night people knocking on our door on a weekly basis it is good to know WHO is doing the work. We would recommend Boens tree service to anyone seeking a professional company who is licensed and KNOWS ABOUT trees. My neighbor recently hired a random door knocker, took their money and left all the cut trees at the curb. The city fined my neighbor and refused to remove the trees because a company did the work. It ended up costing my neighbor significantly more to have the wood removed by a second company. The company that did the work refused to communicate. read more

I called and set up an appointment for an estimate the following day. Roger was the gentleman who came out to assess the trees/property and he was a pretty nice guy. We wanted work done in the front and back yard but the back has limited access so Roger told me he wanted the owner to come out to take a look just to be sure of what he was quoting me before he presented me with the estimate. I was told the owner would call me the next day to come out. I waited all the next day but never heard from the owner. I called the following day and spoke to the same woman I set up the original appointment with and she said she would call the owner and call me back. Never heard from her. So I called first thing the next morning and reminded her who I was and of the situation. She immediately remembered and said the owner could not come that day (kinda crappy in my opinion seeing is he was supposed to come days before) would for sure be out the following Monday and that he would call me when he was on his way. Never heard from the owner or anyone from the company. So I wasted a week or actually they wasted a week of my time and I still have no estimate even for the other work we wanted done in the front yard. Take my advice and do no waste your time with them! read more

Boen's removed a tree from a neighbor two doors away from me. They damaged my driveway and lawn and they refuse to provide compensation. I reported them to BBB, but consumers should know that they are not an ethical company. Try another company. read more

Trimmed branches from the neighbors' oak tree on Palace Drive last week. Just checked this weekend and lots of limbs on my roof. Do not use them. Poor care or concern for property owners adjacent to their client. read more
