It took a long time to get them out here, but WOW, they did a great job and they were really quick once they got started. We had a very large patch of Araca palm trees that went way over the power lines. Duke Energy was not quite as efficient. They messed up something and it put the job off further. The workers do a great job! However, the office schedules the appointment without asking the customer if that date works for them (tell rather than ask). Also, I had to call a couple of times after the trees were done to determine when the stumps would be be removed, and again to come back and pickup the rest of the debris which wasn't done when promised. Everything about our experience was just great. From the estimator Roy to the crew doing our tree trimming, we were kept informed and educated on what they recommended be done. Expectations were set and followed through upon. We knew exactly what was going to be trimmed and why. Everyone was very pleasant to work with including the office staff. Roy was knowledgeable about the trees and gave us lots of information and advice. Got our detailed quote by email a couple of hours later which we immediately accepted. Two days later the 3 man well equipped crew came out and completed the job. Very responsible, respectful, friendly and efficient. Some flowering trees and large shrubs were uprooted by the Hurricane. They were too big for me to replant myself. Dalton came and looked at the damages which, fortunately, were mostly cosmetic (but needed to be done for curb appeal and to avoid neighbor complaints) and was honest enough to tell me that there was only a 50/50 chance of success. I have a massive live oak in my front lawn, with larger branches overhanging the house. Some smaller branches had blown down, which I had already removed. Dalton offered to prune it, but said that the hurricane had done most of the work, and that I didn't have to worry about any remaining branches. He said he'd be happy to do the work, but with the caveat that the shrubs might not re-root/survive. Even with the very fair price he proposed, I decided to do it myself with my handyman, who needed the work after the hurricane. They must be in with yelp because I left another message that was a one star, and it seems to have disappeared. They are unreliable and will ruin your yard with their machinery. We recently purchase a 1.6 acre property with extensive number of trees that were in need of care. I decided on O'neils with a combination of a recommendation from my gardener and reviews. The experience from start to finish was great. James Pruitt was my rep. He went over all the trees with us, what he recommended and why, why we did not need to other things we thought we should, etc. The tree trimmers did a great job with a lot of eye to detail and a correct look. After the job was done, I realized we had missed one tree. I contacted James and he looked at his notes, and said he had suggested trimming that one but we declined, which was accurate. In Jan. 2022 , O'neils cut a tree on my property for the city of Clearwater. The crew was efficient until the guy in the boom dropped a fairly heavy log piece on my driveway. it lowered a section down about an inch.this was a tripping hazard so I called the office. The manager said they would take care of it and over the next week or 2 3 different guys came to look at. The manager said it would be repaired.(Feb. 7) Two weeks later 2 guys dumped some concrete in bad spot. It wasn't troweled and the edges stick up. I called office and was told they would handle it. Full disclosure...we have used O'Neil's since moving to Palm Harbor...all the way from Dunedin...Ya, I know, "What a move." Why did we hire O'Neils? Roy sold my wife right from the start. I wanted to get rid of trees, she wanted to keep all. Guess who agreed with my wife. Ya, real tough guess. They ended up doing some trimming, but not much. Let's face it, they are not looking to get rich off of you. Recently, we had to have a dead tree removed. Another tree service was doing work for 3 of my neighbors. I asked a neighbor what he thought they would charge. I called that company and they came and gave a price and said they could do it in the afternoon (same day), or the next day (that ought to set off alarms). Well, I put them off and asked Roy, from O'Neil's, to come and give me an estimate. It was more. I showed Roy. He explained the "why" of the higher estimate. The other company did not provide Workmen's Compensation insurance for their workers. Yes, they had liability insurance for themselves, but not Workmen's (you can check this online...and, yes, I did). Why is that important? Because if they get injured doing work on your property you can be held liable and need to pay for the medical bills. What do you supposed that might be? Climbing trees, using a chainsaw, axe...would you say this is a pretty dangerous occupation? Basically, if someone is hurt on your property, you could lose your property. Get it? (Call your insurance agent to verify that you could be hung out to dry.) An attorney, in the office building where I had an office, had a guy come to do some work at his house. The guy was stung by a bee...allergic reaction...hospital...medical bills. Guess who complained that he was being sued? Bingo! And I haven't even told you what the Pinellas County official said when he came to verify that our tree was, in fact, dead. The low ball company is noted for not getting permits for whatever they do. Leaving you liable for fines from the County and the need to replace trees that were taken down. Not to repeat...medical bills...and whatever else. Bottom line...I'm not interested in saving a couple hundred dollars against what could happen. Why do they empty the school house when there is a fire alarm? We all knew, as kids, that there was no fire, or danger. But suppose the alarm was ignored and there was a fire? It could be catastrophic...right? Same with trimming a tree with you being liable for what could happen. You might be wondering how good of a job they did. The dead tree was right along our privacy fence and it leaned over our neighbors yard. With the neighbors permission O'Neil's laid plywood sheets, double wide, from the front of the yard to the back where the tree was. This to insure no damage to our neighbors lawn from equipment needed in the tree's removal. Then, of course, they carefully removed the tree and all debris. My backyard area and walkway was cleaner than when they began this job. So, once again, they did a great job. read more

Two large trees in our backyard needed to be pruned. After calling 4 different tree services to get estimates, we were very impressed with Marti at O'Neil's. He took pictures, explained which branches should come off, how high the canopy should be raised and how much foliage should be trimmed from other branches. The proposal he sent contained all this info, plus a copy of their certificate of liability. Marti explained why the work could not be scheduled right away (it was right before Christmas), but within 2 weeks called and scheduled. The two workers were right on time, worked diligently for 3-1/2 hours until the pruning was done and took almost all of it to the curb in the front yard. Then another crew came with a special machine to lift it all into huge truck. Outstanding! These guys took down 4 enormous trees in my yard in one day- two slash pines, a eucalyptus and a palm. They were great start to finish. They answered my first call, gave me a prompt estimate, and scheduled the work. They had a team of six do the work, using a 110 ton crane and several climbers, as one of the massive trees was growing right through my deck. Not one speck of sawdust remained in my yard when they were through. Six huge trucks were needed to haul away the wood. They ground the stumps so well we couldn't tell where the trees had been, and we were able to plant new shrubs in those spots without hitting any leftover roots. They trimmed our two large live oaks at the same time. What a great job! I couldn't recommend them more highly. I would definitely use them again. read more

After completion, the wife and I went on a walk around to view the results of their labor. We were very impressed with the trees! They look amazing.
