I recently had a large tree removed by Tim and his crew and they were great. The job required them to coordinate a power outage with Duke Energy and the use of a large crane. This is was a technical job and it was amazing and impressive to watch the way they were able to get the tree out and the power on as quickly as they did. I would certainly recommend Tim and his team if you need any tree removal, clean up or trimming. read more

I have worked with Tim and his crew for over 10 years. He still has the same crew. Must be doing something right! He's a Certified Arborist and always gave me the right advice and the right price. My estimates ranged from $13,000 to $3,500 and Tim was right in the middle. You get what you pay for. You can trust his work and his crew. I highly recommend Murray's Tree Service. read more

This is the 2nd time I have used Murray's Tree Service and have been very impressed. Came out when stated to give estimate. Was very fair with price. Do NOT look any further as I am a very discerning shopper and have high expectations I received multiple proposals for the removal of two diseased trees and tree trimming from companies recommended on Nextdoor.com as well as from neighbors and determined that Tim Murray is THE EXPERT in his field AND the fairest in cost for what was an outstanding experience! Tim Murray is, by far, genuinely vested and cares about your trees and you! He spent a great deal of time explaining the "whys" and "why not" of trimming ones tree correctly. After a lengthy visit assessing my property and it's 11 oaks, he provided me with an "on the spot" written and detailed proposal via a computer in his truck "office!" He was not at all "hard sell" yet taught me so very much even had I chosen another tree company. I obtained 4 proposals and Tim Murray's was truly the ideal recognizing that Tim is an arborist's book of knowledge!!! I received estimates that were vague yet close to his price for far less work as well as one substantially higher for the same amount of work. I had that warm fuzzy feeling that he was the right one for the job. He's a CERTIFIED trained arborist and truly cares about your trees. One recommendation referred to Tim as a "tree hugger!" Tim's has a fantastic and knowledgeable crew, some with him for over 10 years and they were professionals. Tim arrived with them and went over each of my eleven trees emphasizing what should be done. The crew of four worked nonstop with state of the art equipment and left our property looking immaculate!!! Tim returned 3 additional times throughout the day to ensure everything was done precisely as he told me the first day we met. Please be sure to meet Tim before choosing another. If you are in the St. Pete area, look no further for your tree cutting needs. Tim was at the house hours after I contacted for an estimate and promptly provided a reasonable quote. The team that was at the house was safe, efficient, and worked quickly. I was extremely impressed by their operation and the efficient and organized manner in which they worked. I highly recommend using them at your residence or business, my husband and I couldn't be more pleased! read more

Murray's tree service removed a pine tree that was too close to my house a couple weeks ago. Tim the president, showed up on time for the initial meeting, provided me a quote complete with his insurance information, and was able to setup the removal appointment shortly thereafter. One the day of the removal, his crew was on-time and courteous. The entire job was done quickly and when they left, it was like they were never even there. I'll use them for all my tree needs. Scheduled an appointment for an estimate and Tim never showed up. He didn't call or convey any problem regarding making it to our house or need to reschedule. We waited for over an hour, tried calling him and no one called us back. We contacted this company based on their good reviews, but this lack of professionalism doesn't give us much confidence in their service so we will use another company. read more

Absolute professional! Tim's team is amazing with the most superb work ethic and customer service. They took down two huge trees in the most careful and quick manner. Left my yard immaculate. Highly recommend! read more

Tim Murray's team did an excellent job! They trimmed a bunch of oak trees for us in our back yard. They also did an amazing job cleaning up by raking, blowing, and picking up every branch to be hauled off. They were kind, courteous, and professional. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a tree service! read more

FANTASTIC! Trust me on this one, if you need tree work done, talk to Tim Murray first and last. I had to have a lot of huge trees removed this year, I used another highly rated service for the first job and had to deal with a fountain destroyed and waiting 3 months for my roof to be repaired after that I went looking for something better and I found the best. Tim is very knowledgeable and actually cares about saving trees even if it costs him a job. He doesn't inflate a job and gives you the real numbers, his guys are professional, fast, friendly and speak english. I can not tell you how many guys came out to give me estimates that spoke no english at all when I was shopping quotes. read more

The best tree service I've ever used . From the beginning process tim walked me through every step not to mention after getting several quotes and beating them all soundly!!! The crew showed up timely and did a wonderful job and clean up was pretty effortless. To my amazement they actually gave me knowledge of the trees on my property and some great advice! All of my future tree service will be through Murrays !!! Tim is best in the business... read more

I have used Murray's tree Services twice since purchasing my current home. The first time was for the complete removal of a Brazilian Pepper tree that stood directly in the way of a new fence, so it was important that it not grow back. The stump showed signs of two previous attempts kill this beast, but it met its end when Murray's Tree Services took on the job. The second time was a few weeks ago when I had limbs trimmed from an overgrown Laurel Oak that threatened to damage my roof in a serious storm. The tree is on my neighbor's lot, so it was important that the job be done without damaging the tree. In both cases, Murray's Tree Service arrived spot-on-time, worked cautiously, finished quickly, cleaned up after themselves, and got final approval from me before leaving the job. Top-notch service from people who have been at this long enough to really know what they are doing. read more

I thought by the reviews that I had found a tree service BUT NO... He did come out and gave a good price for the trees, " The written estimate will be in your email he said, we waited, and waited called no less the 7 times. After we reached him by phone again no estimate, Told us he would be there Monday, TODAY IS THURSDAY AND NO SIGHT OR SOUND FROM him, I GUESS HE ONLY WANTS $$$$$ BIG JOB MONEY JOBS I will NOT chase you to pay you to do a job you said you would do. Don't expect any more work in Gulfport and your ears should be ringing as I will be talking about this for a while, ALSO I own 6 rental proprieties that I needed work for guess I dodged a bullet on that. read more

Called this guy for a tree removal -- texted this guy -- no return call. Do not try to call.

Great experience! Owner came out, explained exactly what would be done and gave quote. His team showed up ahead of time, they were great and every one of them was very polite and professional. Very impressed! - Pat in Gulfport read more

I had an agreed upon amount for a job to cut down my tree, stump grind the root and do some branch work on the side of my house in July. Tim is the owner and the person I spoke to. He was there most of the time including doing alot of the work. He was not there when the job was supposedly done. When the person in charge came to collect my check for $2,100.00 I paid him in full. The job did look completed. But later on I found a small piece of the stump near my front porch sticking up from the ground after I tripped over it. My stump was large and they used a large blade to grind the stump. I figured they probably couldn't get any closer to my porch with that large blade so they would have to use a smaller tool to get that last piece which was almost a foot long. It took close to 3 weeks for Tim to return my calls. Only when I used someone else's phone (so he would not have caller ID on my name) did he pick up...surprise! When I described my problem and asked if he could come by and look at it and see what he could do about it he told me that since "I had gotten such a good deal on the price" that he WOULD NOT come by and finish the job. When I asked him what I was supposed to do now he told me to " Get an axe" and do it yourself. It gets better. I sent a complaint of this problem to the BBB in Aug. Within 2 weeks of sending this to the BBB Tim, the owner and person I dealt with all along actually CAME TO MY HOUSE TO CONFRONT ME ABOUT THE COMPLAINT! Wow! This altercation too was sent to the BBB as an addition to the original problem. One last comment about this problem which I never included in my original complaint. While in the middle of the tree cutting job, Tim's crew went to my flag pole that is in the ground and could have been in the way of the work and took the top half of the pole ( which has 2 flags including the U.S. flag) and laid the U.S. flag ON THE GROUND. Any veterans or patriots should not be happy with that, Nor was I and I had to pick it up off the ground myself.
